Like when the original came out... this new MDX truly hits the mark on value and size (3rd row). It looks sharp and expensive, especially at around $50 grand. I can’t imagine that the Americans or the Germans can even come close with what is on offer with this new Acura. Well done Honda! Great review guys... it was worth the wait. Thanks for the video.

Unfortunately Acura is a premium Honda and way overpriced, especially for US market. People would buy Kia Telluride, Hyundai Palaside, or for true luxury would go for BMW or Mercedes. Acura and Infinity are struggling in the US market. Now they even have Genesis to compete. That is why their resale values are very low. You loose so much money spending on an Acura.

The King of SUV has regained the title. You have to feel sorry for the competition especially in Canada where the MDX pricing puts the others to shame.
I love my leased 2019 MDX….however I just found out that I can not trade the MDX for another brand of vehicle. Acura forces those who lease their vehicles to turn the car into the Acura leasing company….or trade it in for another Acura! No choice! Don’t lease Acuras if you prefer choice for your next car.
Great review. Made me change my perception of it. Very balanced review. I agree the GV80 is amazing, however the MDX for the price is amazing and undercuts the price of the GV80 by thousands of dollars
Great review. I'm 73 years old and I have to tell you the shift buttons are so easy to use and so is the track pad. The track pad is so accurate and intuitive with great response. You can type out a word as fast as you like and if you make a mistake you swipe back to delete a letter. It takes about one day to practice and I love it over the 2017 RDX which I traded in for the 2022 MDX Platinum Elite). You are going to love the Heads Up Display (especially for the speed limit which you can change from Kilometers to Miles display and the navigation and other Apps which you can scroll through). This is one great vehicle with style and class way above anything else within in 20K of its price range .
I love the format of this kind of car review comparing to other traditional format. For MDX, you will not regret. it is a fabulous car. I had drive it for several months (advanced mode) and I am super happy with it. I also had a MDX 2007 model (2 generations back) and this new generation is even better. The only improvement I'd suggest is to get rid of touch pad and offer a touch screen. other than that, it is a perfect car.
Wow! Stunning endorsement for the MDX from both of you! Was considering the Lexus RX but now that this Acura is much newer, it definitely became top choice for us! Thank you for a fantastic review, Andrea and Zack! Keep up pumping out great videos please!
@@aetiusg The RX is due for a redesign, no question. I’m a long-time RX owner myself having had my RX since brand new in 2010. I love my vehicle! But I am very impressed with the new MDX, even though I really don’t need this big of a vehicle as I don’t need third row seats. But I really do like the exterior design on the new MDX!
This has been one of the most sensible and informative videos I’ve seen in a long time. Answered a lot of a basic buyers questions. We have a 2013 RDX with 62,000 miles on it. Looking to trade up. You Have Sold Us On The MDX. Thank You.
Regarding the push button shifter.... a couple really nice benefits of that system is you don't have to put the vehicle in park to exit the vehicle. Just open the drivers door & it automatically goes into park while the engine remains running (handy for a short exit i.e. to grab your mail). And better yet, simply push the stop engine button when parking, and the trans automatically goes into park as well. These functions streamline your motions. Maybe that is why Acura has embraced this system....it's all about functionality.
I have to tell you both that you honestly make an incredible team... Your reviews are fresh, interesting format and I must say that you are well on your way IMO to being top UTUBE reviewers.. Congradulations!!!
My wife is a leftie too and our son, so they feel your pain Andrea. Our son is in China at university, and when he learned to speak read and write mandarin the teachers seemed to struggle with him being being a leftie. My friends have the RDX it’s just a gorgeous vehicle up close, the build quality is exceptional. The only strange part is when you open the hood there’s this tiny little engine sat in there, kind of looks a little odd. Great review again guys, summer is coming 👍👍👍 we survived another winter!!!!
new features trunk was very interesting i hope All car makers copy this option and meanwhile Japanese car in general is reliable and especially Durable, this review was useful, thanks
Great review. Lots of value here. Andrea, thanks for your comments re us left handed people. Zack and the rest of the 90% don’t appreciate the world is designed for right handed people!
The Acura team makes good cars. They went through a less appealing design period for a while, but now, the new products (RDX, TLX and MDX) look nice and dynamic. The driving dynamics were there because they are a Honda trademark. Let's hope Infiniti is the next one to experience a renaissance through their upcoming line of design.
Zach, very Spot On..... "The Best SUV , I've driven in a log, long, time".... Just got mine on Friday, 8/20/21. A 2022 MDX Advance in Fathom Blue Pearl / Graystone interior . Took my "equity" in my 2019 MDX Advance of $3k Plus the $1k Loyalty form Acura , added $1500 Cap Cost plus taxes / fees and signed a new lease for $600 per month. It's much better than a Telluride (too Floaty for me) and a Highlander . The Acura represents an outstanding Value. When I got the 2019 , which replaced my 2016 Infiniti QX60 , I was happy with the better styling over the QX60 (which was Bloated Station Wagon - good car , roomy , comfortable but Dull), but
I fully agree with your GV 80 analysis. For that price there's not a chance I'd buy the Genesis. Not to mention the resale value. The MDX is going to hold its value on the resale market much better IMHO.
Lmao, the resale value isn’t bad. It’s just as good as the Acura’s. Honestly, the genesis doenst compete with this. It competes with the Audi Q7, Lexus RX L, Volvo XC90! The genesis competes with the Germans like the x5 and GLE
You make a valid point Zack about the pricing of the MDX versus the GV 80. However, I think the reason the MDX is priced lowered than the GV80 is because it uses an older engine that was simply carried over. That didn't cost them much if anything to simply put that into this new body. With the GV 80, it is an entirely new SUV from the ground up with a new powertrain. That costed them a lot of money to develop. Also, Acura knowing knew they would bring the Type S model with the new MDX so pricing the standard 3.5 V6 lower than the competitors is rightful done with room for the Type S to be priced in the mid 70s. I agree with you that the Genesis GV80 is priced on the high side. I bet there's a lot of wiggle room for discount when the sales are way lower than predicted.
I was going to give you thumbs down for saying in the opening -" This may be the best suv I've driven ..." since I thought that was too much to say given how many nice cars you have actually driven. However, when Andrea pointed out that it has a new transmission gear I let it pass since I didn't know that. This Acura only offers heated steering wheel on higher trim which is ridiculous for this price range.Secondly, there is no excuse for not having touch screen and the built in navigation is not good. This review was really good as I'm used to watching one man review and here it is the two of you contributing harmoniously , very nice.
My wife still drives the first model year 2001 MDX with 300,000 kms on it. That thing refuses to die and the engine is still as smooth as the first year we had it. We would potentially look at this as our next vehicle but we no longer need 3 rows as our oldest kid is entering university this year.
This was a fantastic review guys. I normally like your reviews, but for some reason, maybe the editing, this one took it to the next level for me. Very informative, good and pertinent information about the vehicle.
I agree with Zack and Andrea.. Looks like a great SUV.. But I just wish it were more traditional on a few things. Be nice to see a traditional shifter, and more traditional dashboard, like oversized physical buttons/knobs to control things.. Also some more interior room would make this nicer too.. Simply raising the roofline 2" ro 3" inches would have made this a MUCH better vehicle.. I know this would hurt MPG some.. But I would gladly trade less MPG - for the better comfort, more room and better visibiltiy that a higher roofline would give you. The Kia Telluride is taller and more traditional design and Kia is selling them like crazy.
What a great review. So much so I test drove a MDX Tech Package with navigation today. I currently have a 2020 Audi Q5 Premium Plus. This package lacks a heated steering wheel, hands free tailgate and fog lights which mine has. This is my second Audi. My lease is up in 15 months so I thought I’d start looking to see if there was something bigger and better but not the price of the Q7 with the options I want. Acura did a great job on the exterior. I love the diamond starburst grill and the new lines. The wheel size matches the vehicle. When I got into the vehicle I felt like I was sitting in a cockpit wrapped around me. Not the feel I was hoping for. I was expecting more distance between driver and passenger in a bigger vehicle like our daughter’s Passport. My husband is 6’4” and he was cramped in the second row sitting behind my driving position with minimal headroom to the roof. As I started driving I could feel the heaviness in the steering. My husband mentioned he could feel the heaviness and leaning into the corners as if being too heavy. The Q7 doesn’t feel heavy. Even though it has a double wishbone suspension it still has the Acura feel of a slight vibration throughout the test drive as our 2006 RSX did. The engine seemed a little under powered for the weight of this vehicle. Don’t get me wrong the MDX is a GREAT vehicle from the previous version but it’s not what I was hoping for or looking for. It’s definitely a luxury SUV. The interior is upscale and I like the new button shifter. The Passport has it as well. With a few more refinements in some areas and additional options that I would expect at this price point, I would reconsider it later down the road.
I had an RDX and wanted to graduate to an MDX, but my wife said another make. So, we were looking at Audi, BMW, Mercedez and finally ended with a Lexus RX. After buying Lexus, my wife says she would have preferred an MDX. I am like, "really, you serious now..." I am always for Honda Engineering. People never understand. All other brands offer features for an extra cost. With Honda all the features are included in the baseline trim.
Overall, the new generation Acura MDX is good. Both the exterior and interior. For the exterior nice aggressive stance. Nice slim/sleek headlights and taillights. Good the exhaust tips are exposed as well. For the interior nice second row bench/captain chairs combo. Very clever. From a distance it almost looks like the Mazda CX-9. However, within range you'll automatically discern the two vehicles. The Genesis GV80 has better performance numbers, but that's where the fun stops with that vehicle. The Acura MDX destroys it in third row seating accommodation, cargo space and overall appearance. Also, the MDX is cheaper in price. At the 13:53 and 14:19 time marks the Lexus RX 350 with the third row seating is not the "RXL" like what was mentioned twice in this video. It's actually the RX 350L. That's the full description of it. As for the MDX they should've made it with a rotary dial shifter. That would've added additional luxury feel to it. They also should've made the infotainment screen both track pad use and touch screen. More flexibility for that combo. Other than those two blemishes, this new generation MDX has more to offer than the competition.
The Buick Enclave makes 310hp, is biggest in the segment, and can be discounted in top Avenir trim in the US$40's. It is also ranked tops in the segment and also recommended by Consumer Reports. The 2022 MDX is not as are none of the Acura's models today recommended by CR.
I'm a lefty and ...does my life suck because of it? I think not. But there are times ....trying to find a left-hand guitar I like. Showing up for golf lessons back in the 90s and the instructor had to go back to his trunk to see if he had any left-hand clubs. As a kid dealing with scissors for right-handed people, etc.
@@herczeus9341 This video describes exactly why the MDX is better. Did you not watch? Also who is "most?" One or two other channels on youtube? Let's look at the sales numbers by June and see what people prefer.
@@hertzair1186 nah this MDX is even sexier than the CX9. Most reviewers get these boring colours, but the red and blue A Specs look like sports cars. Very sleek
The shifter is just fine. Had my Pearl Red MDX 2022 now for a little over two months. Plenty of power in the big 3.5 six, especially combined with the fantastic transmission, so smooth! Great total redesign and lots of room too. Love the ride, a lot like the BMW X5, but sure Acura/Honda has the best quality control and proven reliability for years of trouble free driving, not like most German vehicles. They did not mention that all the safety features come standard on the MDX, including adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring and lane assist, etc. It is loaded and will be a 5 star safety pick like last year, but even better with those front lights. The tires and breaks are huge and it stops the heavy 4,500 pound big boy in the most impressive time of anything I drove in the luxury class. I do not feel a need for the new 355 house power turbo, but many just want even more power, but my wife and I are most impressed with the engine and transmission gusto! We love the hidden truck holding area for groceries, etc. Perfect! The big computer info screens are just perfect too. Acura spent a lot of time thinking about what would make the baseball moms happy too, so many will buy this seven seater over many mini-vans and be glad they did. It is selling very fast and keep in mind Honda/Acura sold over a million of the MDX's, more than any other seven passenger luxury SUV, ever! Their owners are most happy and will love this even more!
I grew up watching F1 and had sports car posters on my wall. My 10 year old self would be ashamed that this is my new dream car, but it looks fantastic.
My first, and still only, experience with a push button transmissions was my mom's 1960 Plymouth Belvedere slant six (that hated puddles) with the transmission buttons mounted on the face of the dash to the left of the steering wheel (for lefties like Andrea). The BIG problem was when I would get inside the car and pretend to drive including pushing the buttons randomly. When mom later tried to drive, the car refused to move out of Park. Pushing the button when the car wasn't running somehow broke the connection between shifter and transmission. Mom was not pleased as it required towing and mechanic fees. Yes. Yes I was an adorable child in spite of my repeated transgressions. I'm sure if mom was still alive, she's happily agree. LOL
Great review as always guys! This latest version of MDX will sell like hot cakes. I think the reference to the Mazda cx-9 is spot too. The MDX to me is a luxury version of the CX-9. They both have similar silhouettes, sporty driving feel and that Japanese build quality. I'd take the A-Spec trim for it's more sporty exterior appearance. I love the darkened chrome and gloss black wheels. My only gripe with this is your only interior option is black or black/red leather seats and surfaces. I wish Acura and other car manufactures would offer lighter colored interiors as an option but still retain the "darkened out" exterior sporty look. Interiors in lighter shades show off the vehicle so much better, look more inviting, airy and spacious. A little more upkeep to keep clean but worth it in my opinion. 100% agree about the button style electronic shifter. As Zack said it doesn't take up any less space than a conventional shifter and for many I suspect including myself is not as intuitive to use albeit you'd get used to it. If manufacturer's are getting away from the traditional shifter for "freeing up space" I think the next best option for real world use is the rotary dial like found on Ram's pick up trucks. Minimal thought and distraction using that shifter vs a button style. Also why can't Acura offer a touchscreen along with the touchpad and let the customer choose which they want to use like in some BMW's etc.? 99% of drivers are used to interacting with touchscreens not touchpads. Overall a beautiful design, glad to hear it drives nicer that the previous version and it looks like it's a well engineered quality SUV.
Glad you mentioned there was a CX-9 semblance to its design as that was what I thought initially...thought I was the only one. If you think about it, it’s actually not bad as CX-9 looks great. If you’re going to copy someone else’s styling might as well copy from an amazing design!
In this market segment, they are all nice. You can't go wrong with any of them. The Highlander is a no brainer because of it's reputation, resale and reliability of course. However if you choose the MDX, like all the MDX owners, you will be happy with your choice. It's a wonderful design. MDX rules!
I just test drove a 2022 A-spec and I was not overly impressed. Exterior looks great but that’s were the love ended for me. Hard plastic high on the doors and dash. I found the cabin noisy vs. the Infiniti QX60 and Volvo XC90 which were much quieter and cabins looked and felt much more luxurious. The local Acura dealer was asking For $68kUSD. They must be kidding….
Awesome video Andrea! Acura MDX is like Zack said a masterpiece! I love they come up with lift back comes down after you take stuffs out. Awesome idea! 👍🏻👊🏻

For reviews if premium is required mention it, and how the audio sound is, if it's laggy etc. Glad they kept the 3.5. Zack tell ur Acura buds it's integra renewal time. Cheers from MTL.
Thank you for such great & detailed auto reviews. Which compact SUV would you ultimately suggest? I want to get an SUV for safety and shopping , not for a large family. What would you suggest?
My wife and I have been looking at these along with he XC90, X5 among others. This went to the top for my wife and is tied with the Volvo. However, I think you guys were a little over the moon with it. The Mercedes and BMW products are far and away built better and they feel it. They are far more solid feeling and screwed together extremely well and use better materials. Additionally the German drivetrains are exceptional. The drivetrain in the MDX is merely adequate. Having said that the MDX price/value? Hard to argue with the value. Pretty impressive in that regard.
great review and i love the fact that you guys laid out the negatives about the vehicle per driver. And based on the price point; that's a steal of a deal at that price.
Very nice review ! Given what you said throughout the video I think IMHO that the Telluride SX-P/L Night (Fall/Sky) beside the driving dynamics offers more features and has similar if not more luxury than the 2022 MDX not mentioning the aggressive look !
I have been test driving a lot lately. I started with the Lexus RX 350 and it was very good and very expensive and hard to get. So I tried the Acura, which I have not tried for a while. Started with the RDX...it was small and cramped and seemed like a rough ride. So I asked to try the MDX which was much better size but I kept banging my knees on the extremely hard plastic on the back of the front seats. I did not like the infotainment interface...very similar to the Lexus but the Lexus has a touch screen as well which I always end up using instead. The MDX ride better but not as good as the Lexus. I drove the Mazda CX-9 and found it similar to the MDX but with much worse tech...no centre screen really...just a couple of lines of text. Finally tried the 2022 Kia Telluride SX and I was blown away! It is quieter and a better ride than any of the others, even the Lexus! The power was better and the tech was noticeably superior to all others, like the mirror mounted cameras, touch screen and much more. The Lexus was $75K, the MDX was the same. The top of the line Telluride was $59K! I can't get any of them easily but I see why the one year old is selling for $67K. My choice is easily the Kia Telluride. There are no differences between Kia and Hyundai and the luxury brands anymore..except for price. Luxury brands need to step it up as I find nothing to justify the extra cost!
Push button selection is brilliant! Older folks like to complain about it cause that's what they've had all their lives, and by goodness you better not change anything or else they'll shake a finger at you. I took the measurements myself, it takes LESS real estate than a shifter. If it's not a manual transmission there's no reason to have a physical shifter
when i bought my 2020 NSX i was waiting for the MDX because i cant drive my NSX in the winter but now my MDX is so much fun to drive, i would pick Acura over any BMW .

The Acura TLX Type S V6 motor is, from what I've read, a twin scroll single turbo. Do you think the MDX Type S version of the V6 will have two turbos, or will it be like the TLX Type S V6? I don't have any issues if it is a single turbo, and someone made the remark that the twin scroll single turbo is "more efficient" than two turbos (I'm not sure what that means.) Thanks and great review as usual!
The twin cam, twin scroll single turbo v6 was originally designed for the NSX. There are no brand new twin turbo v6 NSX's for sale right now. There won't be any twin turbo V6 for Type-S models as the transmission wasn't designed for it.
i love the pop out 2row seat! converts to captains chair option. following and topping the automakers' trend! hope more follow THIS trend. i dont know if this car is any better than my 2022 santa fe SEL. better drive but still not the most preferred joy ride nor best off road SUV. Mdx tops my car because of 3rd capability and removable middle seat! other than that. safety feature, better fuel efficiency, better maintenance service. my poor man's GV80 stomps all over acura. my lease deal: 2022 SEL w/ prem. pack. 10kmile for 36mon-$1,000down +1st month + DMV for $394/mo. o did i mention? i have smartphone key, smartphone/alexa starter for whole lease period(3yrs)
Love your way of presentation and the fun element (the giggle, coffee and all). But need more technical feedback of driving dynamics. I have been driving MDX 2015 AWD and trying to understand if and how it may offer the need for a newer vehicle? What will be major value addition?
I actually had a chance to test drive the mdx and although I love the styling, it feels like the engine is working really hard to get the mdx up to speed. I wouldn’t say it’s slow but it felt underpowered to me. The new engine in the S should solve this. I ended up going with the SQ7, which is obviously not in the same class but I wanted more performance. I admit, there’s a lot of value for your money here, which is classic Acura. Good enough performance, great value.
You're not even close with your assessment. You're going to make an assumption on a 5 minute test drive? I bought this 2022 in April of 2021 and it handles whatever you throw at it, it's buttery smooth and it certainly does not feel like the 6 cyl engine is working "really hard" to get up to speed.
Excellent review! I can think of a few reasons for the push-button transmission selector (some are R-rated): 1. Avoiding the stick getting in the way of today's ubiquitous charging cables, and preventing small items falling into any opening; shifting is electronic nowadays: BMW's solution preserves the shifting stick interface but necessitates a electro-mechanical return-on-parking from manual shifting, which may take more room under the surface. 2. a PG-13 to R-rated reason Easier for the front passenger to lean over without bumping the transmission selector. Mercedes has moved the transmission selector to the steering column, especially on its convertibles . . . steering column selector would feel a little too similar to a bus on SUV's. 3. an NC-17 reason (reader beware: you can not unsee after reading below; have to be open-minded and have a sense of adult humor before reading below) Just look straight on at the area from the big round mode dial on top to the lower transmission selector area between two lips and ending with another (smaller) round button at the bottom . . . even a bulging stack above that. If Tesla can name its car models "SEXY," Acura designers might have been equally over-worked and obsessed; sex appeal may actually work on/for the first / new-car buyers spending north of US$50k / CA$60k on a new car.
Old school column shifters that had tactile feel are the best. I like the Honda buttons, anything is better than wasting a lot of console space where I’d rather have a phone holder. The Acura looks like a 10 year old interior. Who wants a track pad in a touchscreen world?
@@bbgator1 I wish my Q8 has track pad, the touchscreen collects too many fingerprints, and I still use trackpad or steering wheel button for touchscreen in my GLS
The MDX has an elegance about its appearance. I think it would be stunning in black The all black interior is a bit severe, but livable. I'd personally be cross-shopping the Aviator and the MDX. Excellent work as always, very enjoyable video.
New MDX is still the luxury 3-row mid-size leader. I checked out the GV80 and while it's an excellent product - for the price of the top trim MDX, the GV80 only offers a 2.5L inline 4 Turbo and NO 3rd row. You have to spend nearly $15K more to get that. Genesis got greedy and I feel their pricing is too ambitious - entering the Benz/BMW/Audi territory. For that much money - honestly, I would go with the Europeans.
I seriously looked at the GV80 prestige but the pricing grid seems completely off. Could not agree more : GV80 and MDX platinum are direct competitors, targeting customers who could go after German cars but open to other brands. Got the MDX 4 days ago, upgraded from a 3017 Sorento - the whole family loves it!
A lot of people including my self don’t like the press button shifter but it is safer that the traditional shifter. With the press button shifter, if you switch off the car it automatically goes into park. Also, I think it goes into part if you open the drivers side door and did not put the car in park.
great info. I have Odyssey with button shifter and did not know it has these functions. in general I like the shifter, there are some car reviewers always complaint about it, I actually don't get it
I really love this MDX. It's a fantastic value! But we should be realistic. It is a fwd platform with a NA Honda engine. It's not really a GV80 competitor and certainly not an X5/GLE competitor. But you're right. It's great for the money!
I agree. It’s a competitor for Lexus and Infiniti. But no comparison for this with german. Audi/bmw/Mercedes are approx $15k more and has awd, much more faster, etc. So as a buyer you decide, is $15k worth for you to spend or not. For some it is and for some it’s not. For me - 💯 percent worth to spend more and buy X5 🙂
It's great to see Honda incorporating some of their best 'old school' tech in this awesome MDX. For example, my 2012 TSX Wagon has a double wishbone front suspension...helps it to handle like a sporty sedan. Thanks for an entertaining review.

I've said it once and I will say it again you are watching the best couple reviewing cars.
Thanks so much for that!
Best review I’ve seen on the new MDX this year. Great job! I also have a 2011 MDX, this finally feels like a new MDX worth buying.
Thank you so much, glad you enjoyed it!
Totally agree. I have been hanging on to a 2008 mdx that has 105,000 miles but may get a new one.
same 2011 mdx
The MDX is a fantastic vehicle, they all were, this one is definitely the best of them all so far.
But ranked low and not recommended by Consumer Reports. So warranty up especially on the V6 transmission.
@@normt430 consumer reports is a joke , I rather listen to scotty Kilmer who has real life experience

Thank you so much, really glad you enjoyed it!
The RX is ancient now. No idea what Lexus is doing

Wonderful, thank you!
The way Zack is sitting in the passenger seat indicates I would be comfortable
I have to tell you both that you honestly make an incredible team... Your reviews are fresh, interesting format and I must say that you are well on your way IMO to being top UTUBE reviewers.. Congradulations!!!

Just giving my honest opinion!! 😀
YES, many don't understand what us leftie's have to go through! Thanks for watching and for sharing all your great feedback.
new features trunk was very interesting i hope All car makers copy this option and meanwhile Japanese car in general is reliable and especially Durable, this review was useful, thanks

Design has much improved compared to the previous models.
The cx9, now the mdx all starting to looks very dominant and appealing
Great review. Lots of value here. Andrea, thanks for your comments re us left handed people. Zack and the rest of the 90% don’t appreciate the world is designed for right handed people!
Thank you, really glad you liked it. Hey, us left-handed people have to stick together! :)
It looks so much more elegant and classy than the Telluride and Palisade, mane even the G90.
The GV80 is far superior at all levels even at the lower trim levels
GV80 is on a rear-wheel-drive platform with 375 hp. It's not a MDX competitor at all.
The review is through but market comparisons are way off ..... they said the G80 is the luxury comparison to the Sonata ..... 🤷🏼♂️
Thanks for watching and come back to watch more!
That's crazy that Acura makes two of the best luxury SUVs, the RDX and MDX.
I have been waiting for this! And the exact colour and package I want. Great review Zack and Andrea, thank you!
Carbon Metallic color?
How was road noise?
My wife still drives the first model year 2001 MDX with 300,000 kms on it. That thing refuses to die and the engine is still as smooth as the first year we had it. We would potentially look at this as our next vehicle but we no longer need 3 rows as our oldest kid is entering university this year.
Awesome, thanks for sharing!
My friend has a 2014 RDX with 250k miles and zero issues
I love the push button gear shifter. I’m on my second Acura with it and I don’t think I would go back to a standard shifter.
This was a fantastic review guys. I normally like your reviews, but for some reason, maybe the editing, this one took it to the next level for me. Very informative, good and pertinent information about the vehicle.
Much appreciated!
Just picked up my pearl white, platinum elite 3 wks ago. And I am loving it! Took 5 months wait time, but it was worth it!

Andrea: Looking mighty fine in the fishnets and boots. Makes me want to get back to Maine. I'll wait until May.
“Yeah. Your life sucks!” How supportive, Zack. 🤣😂

Looks great and I’m an Acura fan - 30 years ownership. But still not a plug-in hybrid. 🤦♀️
LOL
I’m sure your mom still loved you 🥰☺️
I have a Volvo XC90 and I would definitely consider this Acura as a replacement.
Maybe the best looking SUV. Great review
Thanks for all your great feedback! Glad you enjoyed the review.
Glad you mentioned there was a CX-9 semblance to its design as that was what I thought initially...thought I was the only one. If you think about it, it’s actually not bad as CX-9 looks great. If you’re going to copy someone else’s styling might as well copy from an amazing design!
I couldn't agree more, the CX-9 is a good looking SUV.
Yeah I thought the same thing the first time I saw the new MDX! The CX9 is a nice looking car that needs the option of the V6 engine too!
In this market segment, they are all nice. You can't go wrong with any of them. The Highlander is a no brainer because of it's reputation, resale and reliability of course. However if you choose the MDX, like all the MDX owners, you will be happy with your choice. It's a wonderful design. MDX rules!
Personally i love the push button shifter...it made the interior "feels" roomier (nothing sticking up) and looks more hi-tech
Thanks for sharing, much appreciated.

Very nice review ! Given what you said throughout the video I think IMHO that the Telluride SX-P/L Night (Fall/Sky) beside the driving dynamics offers more features and has similar if not more luxury than the 2022 MDX not mentioning the aggressive look !

The best suv in while. Great job Acura!
“Yeah… you’re life sucks”. I love these guys
This is def the best suv i've driven, i own an A-spec-'22, i test drove all, including gv80, before getting this
I have been test driving a lot lately.

Hey Zack, you and Andrea sounded really impressed and are loving this new MDX. Is it enough to replace your diesel Porsche Cayenne or still not?
Although, Acura did a great job with the new MDX, the Cayenne diesel stays, we just can't replace it.
The new MDX speaks by itself ! Btw excellent review

Great review. You hit all the highlights and answered every question that I would have asked.
Excellent, thank you!
@@r3tr0actiongamer24 it was technically a 8 minute test drive but you got me. Glad you’re enjoying your MDX.
Excellent review!
I can think of a few reasons for the push-button transmission selector (some are R-rated):
2. a PG-13 to R-rated reason
Easier for the front passenger to lean over without bumping the transmission selector. Mercedes has moved the transmission selector to the steering column, especially on its convertibles . . . steering column selector would feel a little too similar to a bus on SUV's.
3. an NC-17 reason (reader beware: you can not unsee after reading below; have to be open-minded and have a sense of adult humor before reading below)
Just look straight on at the area from the big round mode dial on top to the lower transmission selector area between two lips and ending with another (smaller) round button at the bottom . . . even a bulging stack above that. If Tesla can name its car models "SEXY," Acura designers might have been equally over-worked and obsessed; sex appeal may actually work on/for the first / new-car buyers spending north of US$50k / CA$60k on a new car.
If car companies wanted to save console space they should use a column shifter like a Mercedes and get rid of track pads and use touch screens.
What would be your choice between this MDX vs the BMW X5? Thanks
I’m literally in the same boat. Need to make a decision by tonight
MDX
So you would be going with unreliable money pit junk.
@Hugh MacIsaac oh please
@@bradleyscarreviews what are you trolling here for? Go stick with your Genesis lovefest. It doesn't change the fact that they blundered.

Good video Andrea & Zack. Will definitely look at it.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it.
Also, I think it goes into part if you open the drivers side door and did not put the car in park.
great info. I have Odyssey with button shifter and did not know it has these functions. in general I like the shifter, there are some car reviewers always complaint about it, I actually don't get it
Hi: Shopping for the smoothest riding sedan in either the Lexus or Acura lines. What’s your preference? Love your videos!!
