    Radenso the other day I was going by an officer it was on the side of the road aiming a gun at me and my radar detector was not going off but on Waze I had known that he was there for what I can see he might have been using a laser gun I can't wait till you guys make a radar detector that blocks laser along with radar detector that would be the ultimate awesome radar detector.

      Just saying jamming laser detectors is ILLEGAL in just about every state if you want to jam laser detectors Ive heard you could put scrunched up foil balls in your doors but I’m not 100% sure so do it at your own risk lol

    Hey guys thanks for the update. Question about laser radars, since radar detectors don't detect lasers being a light source beam, I have a black car with a black grill, so how does the color of my car affect laser radar? does it have to reflect back to laser gun for it to work? I don't use a front plate in my state so that does not apply. Maybe I should just tinfoil my whole front end of the car and really mess with those guns, I wrap my key fob in tin foil to prevent my key from being hacked. In your next video can you speak to who pays or sponsors the cites and maybe state troopers for the new radar equipment, my suspicion is insurance companies.

    I would expect a quicker response time after the trigger was pulled humm

    • @RadensoRadar
      @RadensoRadar  5 років тому +9

      When you're shooting it from that close of a range, you are over-driving the detector which causes this. Sometimes, if you're right up close it won't even detect because it's so overloaded. Backing up a few feet, or aiming the gun in the opposite direction fixes it. We just didn't think of it in the video, to be honest!

      @@RadensoRadar can you tell me what the response time is for this detector??

    • @RadensoRadar
      @RadensoRadar  5 років тому +3

      @@dwightgreen9642 Response time can mean a few different things from a technical standpoint, but what I think you are asking is "how fast does the detector alert me to a radar threat." The answer to this is that it changes depending on a combination of settings and testing conditions so it is difficult to give a single answer. The fastest response time will generally be with all filters off and when the detector is not overdriven. It's basically instant at that point. When you turn on filters you will slightly impact response time, but what you saw in this video is basically worst case scenario - filters on, and the detector overdriven. So in the real world, the response time will be somewhere in between these two extremes.

      @@RadensoRadar I would have suspected with the detector in highway mode it would be a it's best sensitivity but I perfectly get the overdriven part of your answer.I am looking for a detector that response well to instant on and quick triggering as in your demo. if it misses an instant on in real world driving no matter what the distance then what you have is an expensive windshield decor.

      @@randyjohnson805 @Randy Johnson Hi Randy, luckily this has been extensively tested by the community! If you are an intermediate member of rdforum, you will be able to view these tests by the TXCTG. The Pro M clocked in with a perfect performance detecting KA quick trigger shots, with 5/5 500ms shots and 5/5 250ms shots detected. In comparison, the Max 360 detected 4/5 500ms and 0/5 250ms, and the V1 detected 5/5 500ms and 3/5 250ms. www.rdforum.org/index.php?threads/85196/

    Now police will actually trigger the radar on and off because they know that most people have radars. They will do it on and off so its not on constantly.

    • @RadensoRadar
      @RadensoRadar  5 років тому +13

      You are absolutely correct! This is called "Instant on" radar and it's why you need a detector with long-range capability. If your detector has good enough range, you can pick up those "on and off" blips from a long distance away before you are within visual range of the police officer.

      *KA* is widely used across CA. *K* and *X* are used on _YOUR SPEED_ signs. I don't believe that anyone in CA is using *K* at all, let alone *X.*
      Even CHP speed sign are using *KA* band.

    Slamming on your brake is not a good idea even though it is a natural reaction when people see the police in a medium or on the side of the road. When you brake hard the front end of your car visibly dips down and you have tipped the officer off that you are speeding. Even in the daylight hours most cars now have running lights which will give the officer an indicator that your car is dipping down. I simply let off the gas and since I drive a manual transmission I simply dropped down a gear and go by the law enforcement vehicle going 5 miles over the limit by the time his radar finally locks onto my car. This is why long range detection is so important. If the officer is using instant on radar then you are screwed.

    Pulled over last Saturday for 65 in 55. I was passing another car that was averaging 10 below the limit. Radar detector did not alert for radar or laser. I wanted to ask how he clocked me but as he gave me a warning, I decided not press my luck. Placement of detector is high on windshield with no obstructions. Previous alerts without an issue with plenty of warning. Verified settings and all correct. Interesting.

      Thanks for the reply. Running a R3. I reviewed the dash cam video, the LE officer never held something up to his window in the video (parked 90 degree to road). Also, GPS read top speed 67 mph in 55 zone. Gave me a written warning, I suspect because he really had no idea how fast I was traveling.

      Do you realize how much money they lose if they were to enforce traffic laws by aircraft. They rarly actually do that unless its a very high traffic area in the city and even then they would have to hand out countless tickets to make the whole effort worth it. Its mostly a scare tactic from everything ive heard talking to people that work with aircraft.
