Chin and Choo, thank you so much, cooked this for myself this evening and can’t get over how good air fryer chicken could be. Honestly enjoyed this more than a KFC, and a lot easier than I thought it’d be. Thanks for sharing!
@@ZiangsFoodWorkshop Hi, thanks 😊 I did wonder, seeing as you were doing a cost of living series, if there were any Chinese recipes thar use offal? It's cheap and good for you but a lot of people are squeamish about it 🤔
I did this last week but using your Salt And Pepper Chicken reciepe (potato starch and custard) and did it in my Ninja 14-1 for 9mins. Absolutely wonderful, juicy and your Five Spice mix shaken over the top.
thanks for all the recipes : i just found you within the last week and have so far made chicken chow mein, chicken and ham fried rice and tonight i have a big pot of ribs boiling away in all those ingredients, im now off to sort the book purchase out, many thanks :)
It's been a while since watching your vids, you've not fell out of fancy, but I have your book now which is my kitchen bible. This is a new recipe I'm looking forward to trying. Thanks for all the tips you provide, they're a welcome utensil in my kitchen.
@@ZiangsFoodWorkshop my father in law served time in the army stationed in Malay ! in the late 50's and he is always going on about how much he enjoyed Massy Goring I dont know if I have spelt it right , you have touched on this in some of your video's especially the one that you made a sauce out of extra strong soy sauce , when I told him how I made it he said that it was not how he remembered it , and Choo cooked a meal that you had as a celebration a while back in one of your Chinn blogs and I believe Massy Goring was one of the dishes, the wife does not like chilies so I tend to keep away from those dishes , but keep up the great work and posts , you are a great family and I wish you all the best 🙂 Trevor
Wow Choo has amazing skills deboneing! I buy those packs all the time and I never can get the bone out like that! I love fried chicken so going to give this a bash! Still haven't got round to making your curry paste, got the ingredients thanks just need some braveness to attempt!
I have everything to make this, bit don't have onion power! Can i grind down granules? Would it be as good? Blw, the vids are so good, the chemistry between you and your mother is briliant!
They are not air fryers. They are all simply small fan ovens. Some of which are the same kw rating as a normal oven. Get one if you want one, they are good for small portions but at least be informed as to what you are buying. Similarly, some deep fat fryers are 2kw, some air fryers are 1.5 to 2kw. Hardly any difference in running cost on a 20 min cook
This I've done many times in the oven, halogen oven and the fryer.. The fryer does give the best result esp when you double fry. The sweet chilli dip almost gives it that Korean vibe which I think is the best fried chicken bar one.. Great work guys love this and a Very happy Christmas to you both 🙂
@@ZiangsFoodWorkshop I know you do your own sauces and dry ingredients nowadays, but I did like the comparison/taste test vids. Sad times at the moment - what with energy being £0.34 per kWh and oil even at wholesale having such a ridiculous cost I can’t blame you for making these in the air fryer, I’ll always think deep frying is best but it’s certainly time to buckle down; I’ve been enjoying your recipe book for quite some time but I did wonder why you’d seemingly disappeared (thanks YT algorithm) I think at the moment videos like these are pretty helpful to people as a lot of your recipes could be tweaked to use a little less energy/oil, thanks for the videos!

@@ZiangsFoodWorkshop yea but why put up a teaser that far ahead. Leave it till a week out. If you want to show that your backers get preference that has the same impact. All you are doing is annoying subs. - a sub since the start.
To show what you’re missing out on by not being a vault member, I have enough filmed for 8 weeks in advance which I’m not posting, we pretty much get zero from ads, to keep making videos worth it we need to a reason to draw people to join, many channels do it, I mean waiting is free.. I was in two minds whether to say this but i feel i have too... the Cheap Eats concept you are currently doing is hugely appreciated but there is a flaw... no-one really had an air fryer except those that could afford one during what was a fad during the summer monts, for sure they are cheaper than a conventional oven but the cost of buying an air fryer doesn't justify the savings for those on a low incomes when energy costs spiralled, and they certainly don't when surviving the winter is now the priority.... e.g. i've seen some respected sites where cost comparisons v savings have been done and they all pretty much say the same thing, if you spend £30-40 on an air fryer it'll take between 1 and 2 years to offset the cost of an air fryer against using a conventional oven. Given that most people have a conventional oven there is no saving this winter if you didn't already have an air fryer, and most people don't... i almost got caught up in the hype about them but quickly realised the time i'm most going to have to cut back on energy will be during the winter months meaning spending money on an air fryer to try and save money was in fact not going to save me anything. I do love the concept of an air fryer for cooking small amounts of food and saving money but the timing for buying one makes little sense... i'll look into buying one during the summer months when my energy costs have hopefully dropped and i hopefully have disposable income again.
