as an ultimate player trying to get into ultimate, i appreciate these guides alot. very informational with fluid explanations. im considering playing pikachu, so i cant wait for a pikachu guide if you consider it. keep it up, man
These guides are so underrated. I've yet again been tempted into trying Melee and this helps a lot! I've tried a few characters but ended up settling on Falcon, I've kinda been neglecting his u-air a bit and only using it for anti-air, I'll try and mess around with it more. I can't seem to get good approaches with nair. The second hit quite often doesn't connect on grounded opponents, I got to a point where I now FF first-hit nair into grab as it feels more consistent to me. Is this a bad habit forming?
I'm a beginner Falcon main too. I find the reason nair doesn't connect tends to be because Falcon's air speed is just so fast. I can't say whether first hit nair into grab has disadvantages, but here's what helps me connect the second hit of nair: - *Aerial drifting backwards.* Nairing at full-speed misses pretty much every time. I start holding back on the control stick immediately after initiating nair. But even then, if the opponent's too close, Falcon might still be going too fast and miss the second hit. To avoid that, I try jumping with less initial horizontal momentum when opponents are closer to me. - *Fast-fall after the first hit.* When I first started Falcon, I would only fast-fall once the second hit came out. But if you time it right, you can FF after the first hit and get the second hit just before you land. By FF'ing sooner, Falcon doesn't fly away as far, which helps the second hit connect. The timing is a bit specific, because you can't FF at the soonest frame possible or else Falcon will land before the second hit even comes out. But it's not bad. I acknowledge that I'm giving advice to a 1-year-old comment. By now you've probably either figured it out already (or moved on from trying to figure it out. But hopefully this comment might be helpful for some other soul who is just picking up Falcon comment

3:08 This is so true. Falcon has one of if not the best kill confirms in the game.
Almost as good as a Bowser Guide. Nice job!
