Yes the low price point alone makes this worth while for anyone wanting an introduction to Speyside. Or whisky in general I think. Personally I do think the Double Cask beats it in just about every way but at least the price matches the experience for once! Cheers buddy 🥃
Great review ! I have same package (same coulour and design) but it's theTamnavulin Red Wine Cask Edition Spanish Grenach I found it juicy and good for the price. (17 euros I paied) I agree with you about the time in palate for having a best experience.
Yeah Tamnavulin do lots of these cask editions. A new one every few months it seems! Much like how we're constantly getting slightly different Jura expressions (same parent company). Many of these budget Tamnas are indeed good for the price as you say. Cheers Pierre!
For a scotch whisky that I can get for $29.99 here in the US I enjoy it for what it is. Good casual sipper, that you can pour a dram of without worrying about burning money.
Yeah agreed this can be enjoyed for what it is. It's not 'use it to clean the drains' bad 😉 I do prefer the Tamna Double Cask (same price) quite a bit though. That would be my choice for a cheap casual sipper every time.
I don't fly regularly so miss out on a lot of travel retail whisky but I'll keep an eye out for it. Annoying that they still don't increase the ABV for travel retail though...!
Thank you Liam. I wouldn't really recommend this one. The more common Double Cask isn't bad if you want a cheap social dram though. Not amazing by any means but not much beats it for £20.
Thanks for another nice review of an affordable, non-FOMO-inducing whisky. We need more of that.
We certainly do! 'Non FOMO inducing' should be a third thing to state on the label after NC and NCF 😉
Hi Shane , great review, I was given a bottle of Tamnavulin for my birthday recently, its an okay whisky for a dram after work.
It is indeed! When you just want something easy that doesn't require too much thought it does the job. Happy late Birthday Andy 🥃
Thanks for shining a light on this whisky, Shane.
Not a fan myself, but given the low price it might be of interest for others.

Got a bottle. Its at the back of my collection .but the misses quite likes tt . For the money its ok... good review . Cheers
Yes few people are going to feel like they didn't get their moneys worth... which is a pleasant change these days. Cheers Simon 🥃
Good review as always. I do like the price as well
Thanks Gert. I know that you, like myself, appreciate value in whisky. Not every bottle has to be 100/100 and cost £200 🙂 Cheers 🥃
@@WhiskyLock very true
🥃👍🏻😊
The Tempranillo cask is actually better (their travel exclusive).

Sherry cask is not perfect, but a way better then 12, RW and DO
hi like your reviews on whiskys iv never got a bottle of this brand and after your review wont be buying it
