1 BOX OF WHITE CAKE MIX
3 OZ. STRAWBERRY GELATIN
3/4 CUP OIL
1/2 CUP WATER
4 EGGS (ROOM TEMPERATURE)
1/2 HEAPING CUP OF STRAWBERRIES
Icing:
1 STICK MARGARINE
3 1/2 CUPS POWDERED SUGAR

When your cake is done, still warm & still in the pan, punch holes in the cake with a big fork & pour that excess strawberry syrup you saved from the strawberries, pour that over your cake. The syrup will soak into your cake & be REALLY moist. Than frost with the strawberry frosting...that’s a strawberry-a-holic’s dream come true.
I don't know, that sounds like it would make the cake soggy? It appears really moist already.
I think I would add a sprinkle of corn starch into the strawberry juice and cook it until it thickened a bit, then drizzle it over the icing as a decorative sauce.
I always make a strawberry poke cake with jello in the holes. I'm going to try this with berries. Yummo! Blessings from Galveston Texas

Pour the juice over the cake is what I thought about like doing my lemon jello cake.
How will that icing turn out using cream cheese instead of butter?
Instead of water I would use the strawberry liquid in the batter.
My grandmother had four sisters that never married. We called them The Great Aunts. They all lived together in Lubbock Texas.two of them were grade school teachers, (Aunt Omie and Aunt Verdie), Aunt Jewell was a college math professor, and the oldest (Aunt Iva) ran the house. We were strict Southern Baptist so you know that woman could cook! She made this strawberry cake exactly like you did except she made the cake mix from scratch. I’ll always remember her telling me over and over to make sure you strain those strawberries or you’ll have syrup instead of icing. Thank you for taking me back to my wonderful childhood memories. 🥰🥰🥰
I come on this channel and usually just watch. I am a former professional chef and pastry chef so I know how to cook very well ready - but you make some things that just take me back to my childhood and it feels so nice to watch someone make this stuff. I'm usually good and I can resist going in my kitchen and making this stuff, but imma be bad with this one. Imma make this cake and not carb shame myself about it. Yes, ma'am. I like that this cake looked sooo moist! And just enough frosting to add a taste but not smother it. Served from the pan makes it perfect for potlucks (when we have those again)!

This is my mom's favorite cake, and she'd always make one for my grandpa's birthday. I made one for my mom last week when she turned 72 years young. The first one was almost gone in a few hours, and I had to make a second one for family stopping by. Strawberries are fresh this time of year here in Indiana. So, I bought a quart of fresh berries, and mashed with some sugar. Mom always added a couple tsps. of the juice back in the icing, so that it was almost a glaze that would settle into the cake a bit, making it even more moist and delicious!

The Jello cakes of the 70's rocked! I made every flavor that they had.. The cakes we're moist and full of flavor.!! Glad to see them back
My mother made this cake for years, but she used the juice from the strawberries, then added whatever water she needed. She also made orange cake like this with cream cheese frosting.
I like the juice being used instead of water. Cause instead of water, Id have used milk.

Oh Tammy....my dear mother made this cake when I was young and it was my favorite. I love your Bosch mixer. I have a Bosch dishwasher and it’s the best we’ve ever had....ever. Yes there is just something so special about Christmas music it calms the soul and gives you peace, I think it’s tied to we Christians knowing our savior is coming and life will be better. It definitely is uplifting and puts me in a better mood.
