When your cake is done, still warm & still in the pan, punch holes in the cake with a big fork & pour that excess strawberry syrup you saved from the strawberries, pour that over your cake. The syrup will soak into your cake & be REALLY moist. Than frost with the strawberry frosting...that’s a strawberry-a-holic’s dream come true.
I don't know, that sounds like it would make the cake soggy? It appears really moist already. I think I would add a sprinkle of corn starch into the strawberry juice and cook it until it thickened a bit, then drizzle it over the icing as a decorative sauce.
Pour the juice over the cake is what I thought about like doing my lemon jello cake. How will that icing turn out using cream cheese instead of butter?
I come on this channel and usually just watch. I am a former professional chef and pastry chef so I know how to cook very well ready - but you make some things that just take me back to my childhood and it feels so nice to watch someone make this stuff. I'm usually good and I can resist going in my kitchen and making this stuff, but imma be bad with this one. Imma make this cake and not carb shame myself about it. Yes, ma'am. From one Tammy to another, thank you.
My grandmother had four sisters that never married. We called them The Great Aunts. They all lived together in Lubbock Texas.two of them were grade school teachers, (Aunt Omie and Aunt Verdie), Aunt Jewell was a college math professor, and the oldest (Aunt Iva) ran the house. We were strict Southern Baptist so you know that woman could cook! She made this strawberry cake exactly like you did except she made the cake mix from scratch. I’ll always remember her telling me over and over to make sure you strain those strawberries or you’ll have syrup instead of icing. Thank you for taking me back to my wonderful childhood memories. 🥰🥰🥰
My mother made this cake for years, but she used the juice from the strawberries, then added whatever water she needed. She also made orange cake like this with cream cheese frosting.
I’ve been making your strawberry cake recipe for my family for a few years. They LOVE it!! Even my son-in-law and my grandchildren make request for it for every holiday or special occasion! 😊
I like that this cake looked sooo moist! And just enough frosting to add a taste but not smother it. Served from the pan makes it perfect for potlucks (when we have those again)! In a day when everyone is eating quinoa and kale, sometimes it's fun to break out a really old-fashioned treat like this, and watch everyone lose their minds drooling over it!
This is my mom's favorite cake, and she'd always make one for my grandpa's birthday. I made one for my mom last week when she turned 72 years young. The first one was almost gone in a few hours, and I had to make a second one for family stopping by. Strawberries are fresh this time of year here in Indiana. So, I bought a quart of fresh berries, and mashed with some sugar. Mom always added a couple tsps. of the juice back in the icing, so that it was almost a glaze that would settle into the cake a bit, making it even more moist and delicious!
As a southern gal myself. My mom always made this same cake she never shared her receipt. But now I. Know how to make it . Thank you for sharing this with us 🥰
Im 76, worked where we,shared recipes on Friday and I used this, raising my family in the 60,s and 70,s still use. Highly rate this,as 10 stars out of 10. Glad I found you on utuve. You are amazing since I lost my recipes in a fire in the early 2000,s. Thank you
Mmmm me to! Strawberries, Pineapple, Coconut are my 3 top fruits to eat! Then Blackberries, Blueberries, Oranges, Apples etc...Not necessarily in that order! Lol. My mouth is watering so bad now! Lol.
Oh Tammy....my dear mother made this cake when I was young and it was my favorite. I love your Bosch mixer. I have a Bosch dishwasher and it’s the best we’ve ever had....ever. Thank you for your channel. This old lady in Southern Calif was raised by parents from Arkansas and Oklahoma and I’ve enjoyed many of your recipes or similar. Great job on your channel. Blessings to you and Chris.
Ms.Tammy...THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! You have helped made me a much better cook than I was just a few yrs ago!!! My Grandmother Cox used to make this delicious cake. After she passed away, we hopped to find her recipe so we could carry on the tradition. We found it and it was an old Jello recipe!
It turned out perfect!!! Don’t worry guys if you don’t have a mixer like me. Use those arm muscles. You’ll need ‘em on that frosting! Thanks for this amazing recipe. I love your channel. Health to you and your family.

Just took one out of the oven. The house smells Devine! Excited to taste it. My 12 year old grandson requested a strawberry cake. His Bubby (grandfather) will deliver it tomorrow, for an after school surprise.
Oh Tami! I made this cake last weekend at my family's house in Central Coast CA for birthday party. It was a huge success, everyone loved it! We used the extra strawberry juice for Champagne Cocktails. They were a huge hit too! Nothing went to waste & I am so happy to report everyone wanted your recipe!!!! Of course I gave credit to you & suggested your channel. Always a fan, always true. Cheers to you from El Segundo, CA.
I LOVED the Christmas music at the beginning! What a pleasant surprise that sounded joyous and hopeful. 2020 has been too long and dreary! I bet we'll start using the term "it's so 2020" as meaning. not enjoyable, not good. Was the movie good? No, it was 2020 all over again. LOL
Yes there is just something so special about Christmas music it calms the soul and gives you peace, I think it’s tied to we Christians knowing our savior is coming and life will be better. It definitely is uplifting and puts me in a better mood.
I'm happy to think about the holidays because it just makes everything feel like it's going to be alright with the world when you are eating your favorite holiday treats with Christmas music in the background!!!🙏🙏🙏🎄🎄🎄⛄⛄⛄❄❄❄

We ate that cake like it was going out of style!!!! its so light, moist and bursting with delicious fresh strawberry taste that you just don't want to stop eating it! Lord help me not to gain weight! lol
I made this cake after watching one of her Videos and I'm here to testify that this is the best cake I have ever made !! It was moist and absolutely delicious , I would recommend it to everyone.
We made this recipe and it's wonderful!! We then used mandrin oranges instead of strawberry on another time. We used an orange cake mix instead of white. And orange gelatin. It's was also wonderful!!

My mom used to fix strawberry cake! She loved it and we kids would eat anything she baked as she was a very good cook! This looks so good and I know Tammy my mom would have loved you and all of your cooking shows! I would be buying all your books for her too! ❤️

Gina Maxey, That sounds delicious, bet it will be great.
Pour the juice over the cake is what I thought about like doing my lemon jello cake.
How will that icing turn out using cream cheese instead of butter?
Instead of water I would use the strawberry liquid in the batter.
