Great Video, Thank you!! I own a 93 Dodge with no problems yet, but I know that it is a matter of time at 425,000 Km that the Computer is going to have problems with this.
Just placed my order! Thanks. Just curious because I didn’t read on the website anywhere. What’s the warranty situation. I assume you guys will work with me if something comes up down the road, I’ll give you a call.
Thank you for your order. How are things going so far? Of course we will. There is a Warranty section and a refund and return section on our website. Top menu and footer of website.
The de-coupler allows the engine to decelerate without the energy stored in the heavy rotor, thus smother engine operation, less noise and no squawking the belt when the Cummins comes to a instant halt. De-couplers fail often and sell lots of alternators.
What do you do with the rest of the wiring going to the alternator when you change your system to a one wire system? Is there a adapter harness or do you just abandon it?
Advantages of course is the simplicity of the wiring. And honestly I can’t really think of any disadvantages. If you have more questions give us a call. We’d be happy to help.
I bought a pa performance alternator one wire for the second time the first one quit after one month...The one wire goes into the wiring harness, should I've run a single wire to battery? If so what about the harness wire?
After starting the engine, later model 12 valve Cummins (1998), how many watts or amps does the alternator put out without headlights or vent fan running? Is the battery charging continuous or does it fluctuate? Also, will you be making a 180 amp version for these earlier model trucks? Thanks.
If the batteries are fully charged, the alternator will continuously put out about 10 A. The amperage that the alternator produces are the needs of the electrical load. We will offer the 180 amp at some point as our stock returns. And your voltage should be stable, it should not be fluctuating. Let us know if you have any more questions.
I have a 95 dodge 3500 Cummins completely original seems to always charge on the high side of safe levels 14.2 or so. My question is that if I went to a one wire would the computer still be able to run the voltage gauge and keep all the other systems running like it still had the stock alternator on it
I put this alternator on my 1st gen cummins and hooked up the tach. The needle jumps around then pegs at 4k rpm. Does it need some form of resistor on certain tachs or is it a faulty gauge or alternator?
If your batteries are being charged and your alternator is working fine. What kind of tach you have, Dakota Digital makes tachs that are adjustable. If you have anymore questions please give us a call.
@@HagemeisterEnterprisesINC I put on an Isspro Ev series they make a harness that plugs into the factory tach harness but since the pcm is bad I tried the terminal on the alternator without any luck
Just for you guys in the comments here let me tell you briefly about my situation with my OEM charging. Here’s this for brief. It’s absolute garbage. Buy one of these alternators right now. Get rid of the voltage regulator and PCM. They should’ve never been put in these trucks to begin with. And do yourself a favor go buy a brand new set of cables For your battery charging system, negatives and positives with good terminals for battery connection. It’s a night and day difference. And you guys running quadzilla, it’s an absolute must. I’ve had nightmares of problems with the OEM alternator and PCM and voltage regulator. I almost destroyed an $800 quad Zila computer because of it . buy one wire all alternator!
put one on my 05 dodge diesel everything was ok till today the ecm quit reading it and went to check guages light, the smarty controller says it working at 14.3v so could you help me figure out what i should look at

No, unfortunately at this time they are not available in higher amperage. May I ask what your application is that you are needing an alternator with higher amps? Maybe we can come up with an alternator that would work.
Alternator has nothing to do with the vehicle not starting. You should check other connections (start wire, battery, battery terminals, starter, etc.).
ya love my dodge but fucking hate the electrical shit on it. Am thinking of putting an external regulator and mega fuse or breaker to get rid of at least this one problem. But found this....cool!
Pulley clutch? Your selling nothing but snake there oil pal, definitely not needed and a waste of money. One wire alternator on the other hand, good idea, GM has done it for decades.
Keep in mind that Dodge Ram pickups started the Clutch - Decoupler Pulley in 2007. Many of the OEMs have used the Decoupler Pulley since the early to mid 90s. They are very important because of the high amp of the alternator. Looking online you can see some of the explanations available, as to why they are so important. Originally, Delco Remy built the alternators that are known as A One Wire. But, it was rebuilders like “Us” across America that designed the one wire alternator. Hope this sheds some light on this video for you. Have a great day 👍
I have a one wire pa performance alternator I'll be installing on my 93 first gen for the second time, the one wire goes through the wiring harness, should I run a single wire to battery? What about harness wire?
@davewhipple4815 it never hurts to add an additional wire to the existing output wire of the alternator, simply attach another wire to the output post on the alternator and run it to your positive on your battery
I have put a 12v p-pump in a 2010 Ford F-350 it was recommended to use the Ford Alternator because the ECU on the Ford likes the power better from it own power source. Is this true or can I switch to a single wire alternator Thank you
I was looking at a competitors similar product, but after watching this video I will be getting one from this shop. Thanks

Fascinating and extremely informative. I’m curious does your company make aftermarket alternators for Ram trucks? I’m new to all this.

Other than having less wiring, what are the advantages and disadvantages of a 1 wire alternator compared to an externally regulated alternator?

Is this not a bad thing?

The voltage gauge will work the same. Just so you know, the voltage you are getting now is ok. Nothing wrong with 14.2.
Thank you sir
What means that cluch instead voltage regulator
Sorry I don’t understand your question

Give Dakota Digital a call. They make a device that will let your tach work with the alternator you have installed.

Do you have plans to build a 4th gen ram alternator to work on a 2010 6.7?
Do you happen to have the Alternator Number off your alternator? Then we can see if it’s possible.
@HagemeisterEnterprisesINC I'll see if i can get it today. Currently experiencing a no charging issue so I'll be doing some testing later.
