Understanding Presets
Bonus Trick!
The fact that people explain this stuff for free is a blessing
Best concise, no BS explanation of the 'trinity' of dynamic processors I have seen. U da man brother.
such an perfect explanation. tks u so much.
i was struggling to understand between compressor and limiter, noise gate was beyond my thinking, i now do understand all of them thank you so much
Thanks for explaining these 3 items so clearly like never.
Best demonstration for the effect of a dynamic gear or plugin to a audio
Damn, such a beautiful explanation because of how concise it is. This sum gr8 work~
thx best explanation yet!
Short and simple
Great stuff!
I’m surprised you have so little views. This is a great channel. I just noticed your videos.
They are high quality!
You put a lot of work into these vids.
You’ve done a great job!
I wonder if maybe you are not putting in the correct keywords or your descriptions or not goo, or something. But you should have thousands of views for each of your vids by now!
thank you
perfect!!!
mas claro, imposible.
Difference(s) between a noise gate and a low cut filter?
A noise gate removes any and all sounds below the threshold (much like the example in this clip), whereas a low cut filter removes low frequencies. A low cut filter would not have removed all the hum from the guitar amp, as much of that hum is above your typical low cut frequency range. In fact, a low cut filter would probably not have affected the guitar signal much at all, since the vast majority of a guitars frequencies lie well above these low-end frequencies of roughly 100hz (+/-) and below.
this was great, but I still don't get how a recorded audio sounds so sweet as compared to recording voice + keyboard (harsh sounding) what makes a recording not aggressive but sweet like studio recording? is it the duo: low/hi pass filter then?
I don't have the answer for you, but when I get to that point, I contract a professional mastering studio to complete all the work I did on my own so I have a perfect master to send for duplication or online streaming. This is where all the sweetness comes in. Knowledge, experience and a great ear, are things I don't assume I possess. Plus, a second opinion being the rule in many fields of expertise, when you find someone you can trust, it makes the creative process complete and the transition to release safer. IMHO. Hope this helps a bit. :)
Its a combination of a lot of things. The most important processing is probably to use a compressor followed by a limiter. Though their settings have to be very carefully chosen otherwise it can become more aggressive.
Things like hi pass or EQ also help.
What's the difference to a clipper and an expander?
