@@deadbeef576I kinda liked that. It was all "we're going to jack them up, we've got new toys!", and then you find out that there's entire fleets of Sathanas class ships just cruising around in the darkness...
@@Dark-Mustang Yeah but that last Arc was way to short. Between, oh it doesn't look good and game over, only a few missions came into play. Where in FS you feel like fighting an avalanche or tsunami. Futile efforts where the last mission decided between victory or total annihilation. THAT where actual stakes. In FS2 the shivans seemed more annoyed of GTVA, kicking them out and slamming the door shut behind them. Also the Sathanas wasn't nearly as iconic as the Lucifer. That abomination was unkillable until the last mission.
20:00 " We have detected a massive shockwave emaning from Capella Sun....... "
10:34 "OH MY GOD! IT'S THE LUCIFER!" This part always gives me chills, especially when I played the mission for the first time.
the creepy follow on mission where you have to scan the cursed thing... I always sweat my butt off on that one!
Nice mix of music of some of the greatest games of all time. Thank you.
You speak out of my soul
FreeSpace 1 teetered on the edge of survival horror which I don't feel 2 did as well, it's pretty apparent in the soundtrack
Up until the Colossus was destroyed, the GTVA felt like they were prepared for the next shivan conflict.
You mean up until they found out that there were more than 1 Sathanas @@deadbeef576

1:08 that's when the nostalgia hit.
12:08 "GOOD GOD! WE LOST THE GALATEA!"
