      Jasmine Wilson I would say the pain is the same- kind of just varies from time to time. The biggest difference is just how manual it is! My best advice is to just pretend you are a nurse putting it in someone else, and focus more on how it looks than how it feels❤️ I’m so used to it now! You’ve got this.

    I’ve been having LOADS of trouble with my 90 degree sets, so my doctor recommended I give these a try. Like most, I think, I was beyond nervous about the longer cannula and angled insertion. I placed it on my stomach, and I promise you it was the easiest thing to do and nearly pain free! If you’re considering it, give it a shot! Sending my love and support!

      I’m experimenting with the 9mm 90 degree, the true steel, and the soft 30. I’m not too confident with this one yet. And still Pondering if I want to try the true steel. I had major leaking issues with the 6mm 90 degree ones. So only time will tell which one I choose.

    My son is 8 years old and he has been using the VariSoft and I have to insert it manually, well it hurts most of the time and leaves knots on his skin! We just switched to these and I just now put one on his stomach, at first he was nervous and then as soon as I hit the button he was like wow that’s not bad at all! The infusion sets that go in at a 30 degree angle are so much better because they actually stay in the full 3 days! We have literally tried all the infusion sets they have available and this one is turning out to be great so far! The AutoSoft 30 was so easy to put on thank goodness!

    I'm 5'11" and weigh 122 lbs on a good day. My body has almost no fat on it at all because I've lost 20% of my body weight due to T1D and I haven't had any problem with these infusion sets.
    The insertion LOOKS scary with the big needle, but I just pinch up the skin a little and hit the button. Honestly I would say it's actually easier than changing my Dexcom sensor. Even right after the insertion I can move my body with no restrictions or pain from the site. This is such a major improvement for me over every 90-degree set I tried.

    I am at least 30 pounds overweight, but I can only use the Tandem angled cannulas on the right side of my abdomen and on my thighs. No other infusion set works in those places, including the metal ones. I was ready to give up on using a pump, since only a few spots on my left side and abdomen worked and they're weren't enough to rotate and stay on my pump. Then I decided, on a whim, to try the angled infusion sets on he formerly zombie sites. I was utterly amazed-- and delighted-- that they worked in places no other does. I think, sometimes, we are given recommendations about infusion sets that don't necessarily apply to us as individuals and we have to be willing to experiment. Thank goodness I did, or I'd be on MDIs right now.

    I've been using trusteel for a couple of years. First time trying acusoft 30. I'm changing my prescription. I feel an immediate difference in comfort with the acusoft being so clearly better. Wish I'd have started with this one.
    To break it down a little more. I don't have much body fat and i could always feel the trusteel digging into muscle. I do rough physical things so it always hurt but i stuck with it because i knew if it pulled out i could reinsert it if necessary and tape it down. Tandem sent me some samples of these and tonight is the first time I've tried the acusoft. The injection procedure seems more intimidating with this one but after it was done it seemed pretty easy. After insertion i don't feel the acusoft inside me at all. What a relief.

    I have had good luck with my Autosoft 90, but I got a sample of the Autosoft 30, so I decided to try them. To each his own, but I do not like the insertion process. I realized that I inserted it with the tubing facing in the opposite direction I normally have it. Luckily I had my CGM on the side the tubing was facing, so that will work out OK. perhaps like anything else you get used to it. We shall see how it works for me. I hope it works out OK or I will be changing back to the 90 tomorrow night. I like the Autosoft infusion sets way better than the TruSteel, but my Endo thinks they work better. I have had 2 very bad infections with the TruSteel infusion sets, so I went back to the Autosoft 90.

    Around 1:41, the images show that the top is not covered before insertion. Then, during insertion around 2:00, suddenly the top of the adhesive is covered again and the instruction say to remove that small cover as the very last step of the insertion. So, I should not remove that cover as shown in the image around 1:41 before insertion? And if not, then why would it even get stuck to the needle?

    • @tandemdiabetes
      @tandemdiabetes  Рік тому

      Hi Jesse. If we're understanding correctly, you are referring to the backing paper. This should not be removed before insertion. It isn't the backing paper that can get stuck to the needle, while removing the needle protector, but rather the tape towards the front and near the needle. These 2 sections are different pieces, that are stuck together until you remove the backing paper after insertion. We hope this helps!

    Is there a needle that’s in your skin at all times with this set?

    • @tandemdiabetes

      Hi Dillon. That is correct. There is a very tiny, 30° angled, soft tube (cannula) that is inserted and secured with an adhesive patch to the body.
      Insulin flows through a thin, flexible tubing (that is offered at a variety of lengths), then into the cannula, and into your body.
