I never used Sony so can't comment, but I know two major things this camera has above the XT4 that was driving me nuts is finally put to rest, I feel now I can work with Fuji without frustrations and that is an extremely pleasing feeling.
Yeh it is a very serious camera, too serious for me. But testing it in store (a nice privilege!) shows that certain annoyances I had with the XT4 for my line of work have been circumvented. So I thought yeh... why not, go into 2023 work with less headaches and frustrations.

I knew you'd get a XH2 camera! LOL I recently moved into the Fuji system and absolutely love it. I got the X-T5 with a few good lenses. I'm finding the image quality for landscape and nature photography very satisfactory (and a bit easier to lug around than my Pentax K1 kit). The X-T5 sensor is incredible and the files are very comparable to what I'm used to with the K1. You're gonna love the images you get with the XH2 sensor! I'll never get rid of my K1 though as I use it when I want to shoot full frame. It's by far the best FF DSLR landscape camera I've ever owned. I also have a large Takumar collection and the K1 is the only camera I like to shoot these old lenses on.
I actually opted for the XH2S, with f/w 3.00, stacked sensor design, the AF is the best on this version that the rest and that is something that matters more in my line of work than a wee upgrade in IQ. Using a feature like 'Enhanced' in LR is more than enough additional resolution should I stumble across the odd image that could benefit from such treatment. Unfortunately I did have to sell both my XT4 and K-1 to afford the XH2S, so now my Takumar has no FF home to sit upon (sad days indeed!). I found myself reaching for the 645D more than the K-1 when I did want some EVF relief. Hopefully a XT5/XH2 f/w is forthcoming to improve the AF for your camera of choice as well. Happy snapping!
@@SummersSnaps better get an adapter for your Takumar! That 50mm 8 element may actually be mind-blowing on that XH2S sensor ;) For what I do the auto focus on the XT5 is working just fine. It's quite snappy with the 23 and 33mm 1.4 LM WR lenses I'm using. Have fun with your Fuji.....

Yeh the AF thing is just a feature and you have to decide how important or reliant you are on it. Just because I do a lot of weddings and events its a feature that matters and rises to the top of the want list. If I was shooting more for me I wouldn't need it as much as I favour landscape work and even if possible some preferred engagement with the manual focus as its actually enjoyable! Have fun with your Funji too!
@@SummersSnaps yeah, for what you do a slack or inaccurate auto focus could surely be a deal breaker. I prefer these takumars on a full frame K1 body but I ordered a cheap adapter to see what they look like on the XT5. (I'm curious).

I think IIRC he actually moved off from Fuji now just recently but yeh he was testing them all big time for awhile there. I have another friend that linked me some russian youtuber that suspects the XH2/XT5 are only getting their 40mp via extrapolation (and has some interesting results to prove this). I can't believe that would be the case, I would think Fuji leave themselves wide open to mass action law suits if they say their product is one thing but turns out it is another... but I guess the interesting point is that to extrapolate a 26mp file (in post) gets you to the same place for IQ and information then.... :S A recent cat pic I took with the 2S I use 'Enhanced' in LR and it gave me all the details and resolution I need if that was something genuinely warranted. I guess I compartmentalise my tools a little anyway, the Fuji for me are small wee colourful 'capture the moment' devices, the other cameras I have are more about dynamic range and details. But it is nice to know I could likely be satisfied with 2S files from a details perspective if giving them treatment such as using 'Enhanced' or Iridient or Gigapixel etc. My decision making was not really to do with IQ anyway, it was really about AF and some other things (important things that I will touch on in an future video). I know... please don't judge too harshly, our markets here are very different to motherland. We didn't even have amazon for the longest time and many goods I would have to import from USA. Now that it's here the choices for buying elsewhere are diminishing, they really are evil empire. The price of this camera from Fujifilm's official House of Photography store in Sydney (which I visited a few weeks back) is priced $1k more than the official Fujifilm store on Amazon... :/ So I dunno... does it count buying from Amazon when its not Amazon per se, but the official brand? And even some brands like Pentax are only having an online presence and stopped selling in brick and mortar stores so Amazon (for some) is the only choice. Arghh! If I can find a sweet deal outside of Amazon, even if its close but not as good I typically support that option, but in this instance the price they sell this camera for here is not gonna be matched elsewhere.
