Welcome to the official UA-cam channel of The Monkees, home of 60s chart-topping hits “Last Train To Clarksville,” “I’m A Believer” and “Daydream Believer,” as well as multi-platinum, #1 albums ‘The Monkees,’ ‘More of the Monkees,’ ‘Headquarters’ and ‘Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones, Ltd.’
Monkee-mania began in Los Angeles in 1965 when Micky Dolenz, Michael Nesmith, the late Peter Tork and the late Davy Jones were cast in the eponymous television series about a struggling rock band inspired by The Beatles’ A Hard Day’s Night. The quartet brought a singular mix of pop, rock, psychedelia, Broadway and country to their resulting music. By the time the series aired its final episode on March 25, 1968, The Monkees had sold 16 million albums and 7.5 million singles. Few could have predicted the impact The Monkees would have on music and pop culture at large, one that still reverberates more than 50 years later.

Go-go Mickey, a lovely jazz within you....Merci
In fairness, this isn't a Peter song, and it wasn't in his key. Micky is remarkable in that his voice is probably 85-90 percent as strong as it was in the 1960s.
All those years in England directing and producing probably helped!
You also have to realize how close Micky and Peter were. When the anniversary tour came around in 1986 it was all Micky and Peter’s effort. They had to convince Davy to join.
Peter proving again that he was always a musician on that keyboard.
I feel bad for Peter as his voice just could not keep up with Micky's.
Performance can be kind or cruel as it's a perishable art! Under the circumstances, real musicians will play up into the day they die as it's what they love and do! I remember in art class back in grade school making a guitar logos of The Monkees and it was a rave back then! Wonderful memories in some harrowing times. I'd like to concentrate on the future ones in a time where we are in the times of daydream believer! Play on!!!🤗🎭🎸🥁🙏❤️❗
RIP. Davy Jones, Peter Tork and Mike Nesmith. I emailed Micky Dolenz in December and told him that I really enjoyed getting to see him and Mike Nesmith at the Texas Trust CU theater in October.
Blessed to see all of them in Australia. Great Memories.
Not the same without Peter Tork and Davy Jones Rest in peace
@The Monkees Archives maybe the original commenter confused Peter with Nez or was referring to the Monkees that are left?
Rest well david and peter ..you surely deserve it 🤟🤟🤟
And mike
And even Adam Schlesinger, who "joined" the Monkees in 2016 to be lead songwriter and producer for the fantastic "Good Times" and "Christmas Party" albums, died from Covid-19 in 2020! So sad...
Micky is now the loan warrior
R.I.P. Davy, Peter, and Mike.
Not the same without Davy
They've still got to make a living.
Gary Shaw- its not about them making a living. Its about them doing what they love, entertaining. Don't you think its hard for them going out without Davy or hell, even mike for that matter?
carla kimbrough at least they are keeping active and aren't sitting in a chair or lying in bed wasting their life. I think it's great
They didn't rock on for Ringo. :(
🤣🤣🤣🤣
I'd also ask if she could break a 100 dollar bill! 😂😂😂
Just keeps getting better!
Cool!
Peter's cancer has changed his voice for the worse.
cant sing too well ... and looks? well....
+Odo If you mean Peter it's because he had cancer of the throat and I think mouth some years back. It's probably a permanent side effect of the treatment.
+Carley Fagundes It's a bit out of Pete's range. I saw them in the 80's and they traded vocals between Micky, Peter, and Davy on this song. All 3 sounded spot on!
Odo I think they both look and sounds fine
The original version was just Micky singing.
