- In this video I'll show you how to paint an incubi for your Drukhari or Ynnari army for Warhammer 40K. This how to paint guide is pretty straight forward and if you follow it, you should get your Drukhari or Ynnari army on the table in no time at all! I really like the stark contrast between the helmet and the body armour of this Incubi!

I do like the new Drukhari Incubi models! Pretty straight forward to paint as well! What's your favourite xenos model from Games Workshop?!
Great video! Is this one of the 5 Incubi from the Blood of the Phoenix set?
Thanks for commenting - and yes it is!
@@ThePaintingCoach Awesome! I found a sealed box of Kabalite Warriors in my backlog. Your colorscheme looks gorgeous and I would love to try something similar.
Sounds good! Let me know how you get on!
dark eldar it is
You sir have just convinced me to roll with Drukari
Thanks! Appreciate the feedback!
Love the paint job! Gonna be super useful for the combat patrol I have on the way!
Awesome - glad you liked it!
Managed to split a Blood of the Phoenix box for Black Friday, can't wait to assemble and paint Drazhar and the Incubi with this tutorial as a guide for the paintjob. My kabalites and wyches are in a lighter paintscheme, and the black/purple elites will contrast nicely.
Good stuff! Hopefully I'll get to see some!
A lovely finish on the Model @thepaintingcouch. I recently purchased the B.O.T.P. Box and am really inspired by the results in this video, so thankyou for the inspiration and would love to see more of your work on the Drukhari faction and/or Asuryani units too. Cheers !!!✍😁
Hi Oliver - thanks for the kind words and taking the time to leave a comment! I'll try and get round to more of the box - i've done a tutorial on the howling banshees too that you can find on my channel!
I do love the Aeldari aesthetic, and would love to do more!
This is bookmarked for when I build Drazhar & the Incubi out of my Blood of The Phoenix box, thank you!
Good man! I appreciate it!
This is one of the hardest model to paint for me. Edge highlighting took forever but they are also the best looking model 😭
Worth it in the end! I hope the video was useful!
Amazing paint job
Cheers
Awesome work. Very helpful. Well, looks like I must do another army!
Thanks - glad you enjoyed it 👍🏻
Wow, nice tutorial man!
Thanks Toast - appreciate it!
You created these as ynnari/drukhari if I'm not mistaken, but I noticed that on the boxes for a lot of the aeldari models that arw commonly aligned towards ynnari do not wear any of their helmets and are showing their faces. I'm curious as to why tjjs is becajse I have not read 'Ghost Warrior' or any other books with Ynnari lore. Would incubi with headgear still be considered one amongst the disciples of Yynnead?
Thanks for the comment - I'm afraid that I just painted these based on the box art - my lore knowledge isn't strong enough !
I really really like the look you brought out on these models. I think I'll do the same on my incubi. Do you think this will look as good on the kabalite warriors aswell?
Cheers! Yeah it will work ok - the only thing I'd think about is the incubi are elite warriors so might look a little more well eqipped than the warriors
hi, I just got the drukhari set and looking to paint it! first set ever, so I am a super beginner. Do you wait between coats of paint to let it dry? Should it dry quick enough that by the time you are hitting the model back in the same spot with a different color it's all good? Lastly, a guy at a Warhammer shop helped me get paints for the set, but as I look up guides, I don't see any that really fit the set of paints they supplied me with, which seems odd but I guess I am learning my lesson that he just gave me his opinion of how he would paint it and gave me colors, and not some standard guide?
Any advice helps. I really want to get into it, and usually find myself discouraged at this point when trying miniatures in the past lol.
Thanks
😎
Thanks for the comment and welcome to the hobby!
Let the paint dry - it won't take long - what paints did you get, and how do you want it to look?
@@ThePaintingCoach I told the person I wanted to paint it generally like the box. Your design is also cool and an actual guide which is helpful. I really am open to anything if I can make it work with my paints. I feel as though I need more red and gold, as well as some darker shades like nuln oil.
Paints I have:
Base: rakarth flesh, leadbelcher, abbadon black, wraithbone, naggaroth night, Lupercal green.
Layer: sybarite green, pallid wych flesh, screaming skull, runefang steel, kabalite green, xereus purple
@@ThePaintingCoach as well as just chaos black for primer
Yeah they should work - spray the armour black, then layer lupercal green, kabalite green and sybarite green on the edges 👍🏻
@@ThePaintingCoach great! And you’re saying use the same purples I have like you use yours for the pieces of cloth and such? Basically try to match up my colors with yours, it’s okay if the color names aren’t perfect? Thanks!
Spettacolare! complimeti! :)
Grazie!
Do you have any ideas for anything to strip paint off models like this? I zoned out and primes the helmets with black too. The white now doesn’t sit very well :s
Depends where in the world you live - I've used dettol which is pretty good, you can also use white spirit or simple green. The best product I've used in the UK so far is bio strip amzn.to/2HElbnH
I'd always test with a throw away mini first to make sure the product is ok!
The Painting Coach thank you, and yeah I found out the hard way a long time ago on a chaos lords face xD
No problem :)
My drukhari combat patrol is arriving tomorrow, going to paint my incubi just like this. Thanks mate.
Glad you enjoyed it! Currently filming Lelith Hesperax to release later as well!
@@ThePaintingCoach awesome man. Didn't manage to get the piety and pain box but will definitely be adding her to the army once GW release her updated model as a stand alone mini.
