I've been watching pretty much all the guides on painting Drazhar and the Incubi.. this is easily the best. I just smashed hell out of the subscribe button.
I saw this one on Reddit and I loved him. Great to see the process here, lot's of handy little tricks to pick up out of this video. Particularly love the glazing of the armor to get the green tint and the gold recipe, will definitely be adopting those. This is also the first time I've seen someone use Tesseract Glow and make it look good. Which is amazing.
Absolutely Stunning, I'm going to try and convert a Drazhar into a Kharandras for my Craftworld Eldar. I will definitely be using this as an awesome paint guide!
When doing the feathering around 9:15, I realized you are very quick on cleaning and wiping the brush. Not to sound like a pervert, but but is there a video with live footage of you wiping your brush? : D
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures Jokes aside though: I remember a video from Sergio Calvo and how he rinses and wipes his brush every time before applying new paint, and wiping excess color on a paper towel. That really helped me with controlling colour consistency from the wet palette. It's details like this that can improve painting technique if explained or observed carefully. So I would not mind to see a painting stream or VOD including colour and brush handling, or a video dedicated on that.
Awesome work again my friend. I love that you are a high level painter, but use the contrast paints to achieve incredible results. I always watch every video and thumbs up, but I don’t always leave a comment, but I will make sure I do. Take care brother!
When you are explaining doing the "chunky" thunderhawk edgehighlights and trying to leave some room for a brighter, smaller highlight within it, I wanted to chime in that when I was learning edge highlights from your videos a couple years ago and struggling to sneak that second, brighter edge highlight on top of the first one...when it really feels like it's not going to fit, I think that's a great moment to begin suggesting volumes with your edge highlights. If a learner can't fit the brighter highlight inside the thunderhhawk edge line, maybe we can select the point of that edge where the most reflection would gather, generally toward the bottom? Starting to pick those out...and settling for a volume instead of a thinner line sometimes, is really how I took my first footsteps toward more interesting volumetric highlighting. Thanks for this video and for supporting Miniac
Well technically Miniac is supporting me here since he paid for the sponsorship and I'm infinitely thankful for that. As for the edge highlights, yes you can totally do that, in fact I did that in my first videos but I always try to up the level of my videos and painting, this time I wanted to get much closer to the Eavy Metal method and standard than in previous tutorials.
interesting choice to get what kinda looks like gold by using yellow washed over brass, is there a thought why thats better than just going retributor from the start and contrasting that and highlighting back up?
Ha quedado brutal juan! Y esa mezcla de violeta muy chula. Me quedo con ese momento de "algunos pensaréis que este perfilado es en realidad fino" muy grande jaja
I don't plan on painbting this mini. I don't even have Drukhari. But watched the whole damn video!! Awesome work as always, but i have to ask. What's worse: a simple blue miniature, or this? xD
First of all, thank you for an amazing video! Also, I was curious, since your glasses got to the camera. How do you film? It is a GoPro on the head, or you have a steady camera fixed somewhere on the table? Btw. that camera is you using for that clear and detailed picture? p.s. will come back to Patreon as soon s crazy thing in Europe will finish( have to cut moist of fun stuff nower days 😒😒
I use a camera attached to a Rode Microphone Arm with a tripod ball screw at the end of it. The Camera I use is the Canon M50, I use two lenses depending on the bit, either the 22mm F2 or the 32mm F1.4
Lol, sorry I was joking there. Maybe I would just skip the Thunderhawk edge highlight and just do Administratum, two layer of thinned down Terradon and the final highlight of Gauss Blaster
It was very much worth the patience! Thank you very much! Would you consider applying your Eavy Contrast techniques to a Vehicle (maybe a Venom or Raider *wink wink*) or do you find other methods better for Vehicles. Cheers!

Te ha quedado bestial Juan, enhorabuena!! Una pregunta, por que para pintar la armadura haces lo de los grises y luego le aplicas el glaze en vez de aplicarle directamente otros colores como kabalite green etc?

I love the idea of contrast paint but can't stand them instantly drying on dry palettes and am worried about messing up the surface tension by diluting them on a wet palette...
