Anyone else see the irony of not _including the actual recipe_ in a video that talks about being quick & easy? Seriously, how hard would it have been to *include ingredients & quantities in the description* if not the video itself
@TheRenaissanceman65 Nope, that's an absolutely worst way of making bread. Kneeding dough improve the texture of the final bread and let the dough prove twice improves both flavour and texture. Just because a celebrity chef says something doesn't mean it's correct. Please educate yourself before commenting.
@TheRenaissanceman65 It is only from your experience. However, my experience PLUS experts opinions everywhere say otherwise. It is one thing using the real no-knead method (18-24 hours proof using cold water). That waygluten develops and the structure of bread forms. When I was a beginner, I tried method close to this and it turned our horrible. The bread feels very doughy no matter how long you bake because when you chew it, it collapse into a ball. So, yeah anecdote is not always accurate. If you don't wanna knead try real no-knead method like chef John of Food Wishes does.
It's barely a recipe it's the very minimum you do to make a loaf, with white flour it will work okay usually but wholemeal the results will be very hit and miss, mostly the latter. I bet if you tried it again a few times you'd see what people mean. Love Delia but it's not always as easy as this.
i've used this, recipe for some years, sometimes i substitute some barley flour and /or corm meal for some of the wholemeal flour, it's easy and the bread is delicious.
@@yamilehodson4362 so sorry, i didn't get any notification about your reply and just saw it now! this is the recipe as shown in another video of Delia's for making wholemeal bread, you'll find it on youtube too. i use one teaspoon of salt for health reasons and the old delia recipe i followed had one teaspoon of sugar too. 450g strong stoneground wholemeal flour, plus a little extra 1 level dessertspoon fine salt 2 level teaspoons (or a 7g packet) easy bake yeast 350ml hand-hot water
I also make one which is based on this and measured differently: 4 and 1/2 cups wholemeal flour or mixed with white or other flours. 3 level teaspoons instant yeast, two (or one , depending on health issues) teaspoons salt, one teaspoon brown sugar. i sometimes add a spoonful or more of flax seeds and /or melon seeds. mix with 2 and 1/4 cups slightly warm water ( add more if needed, some flours require a little more. I knead for about 8 - 10 minutes, let rise for about a hour in a large plastic bag and then knock back. knead for a few minutes more and shape any way you like and put into greased baking pan, cook at 230° for about 40 mts.
www.deliaonline.com/recipes/type-of-dish/bread-recipes/wholemeal-loaf Here's a link to her online method and ingredient detail. I'm putting this here as I too wondered what the hell the measurements were.
Yeah, in French Chef episodes Julia Child always provided the recipe--sometimes repeating for TV viewers who could not review the episode on demand. But I guess that's the difference between a teacher and celebrity salesperson.
The recipe is online indeed but without the sugar. Also you put it in a greased bag rather cover it with a damp cloth. Will it work ? I'll find out in a couple of hours!
So, where is the recipe... Who in the world posts how to make something without including the actual recipe... and refers to some steps in the process by saying... the same as in the other video? I cannot believe no one added the typed recipe, yet.
It really pisses me off when you make a recipe and there's no guidelines in the description box for you to follow and then you asking people to log in somewhere else to get the damn recipe and sometimes that don't always work, and you want likes please..

I googled ‘Delia wholemeal loaf’ and got the recipe in seconds.
How much spoon feeding do people need?
Yes, most annoying, I want to make bread this morning, how much yeast and water? What temp? We dont all have gas.
450g flour
350mL water
7g packet of yeast
Tablespoon of salt
200C/180C fan oven
is it really a table spoon ?
If you use a TABLEspoon of salt, it will be inedible...
1 dessert spoon of salt
@@daibhiseaghdha153 Its 1 desertspoon of salt.
I made this, worked out quite well, very nice for a simple no fuss bread. Thanks.
The wholemeal loaf looks delicious and a lot easier than the recipe I have just made. I will try this one next.
I recommend longer rising times (cold rise/tartine method) for more & deeper flavor & better digestibility.

@TheRenaissanceman65 That's a no then.
I agree

Hi Saman , can you please share your recipe ?

Seems very natural and easy. I will try
Looks good, but what are the measurements and ingredients please?
Wished you had a receipi listed?
what temperature is gas mark six? most people use electric.
I don't - google it!
It’s 200°C - or 180°C fan
No recipe. No indication of what gas mark 6 means. No explanation of why it doesn't need kneading. Need more, here.
There's no need to explain further on this no knead bread. Just follow her instructions. It'll be perfect. Gas mark 6 is 400°f or 200°c

Excuse fuckin me that's Delia your talkin about the bread is secondary here I hope you've cooled down by now or take the day off.

"No indication of what gas mark 6 means". Have you heard of Google?
A link to the "other loaf" video might be useful here.
No oil or butter in the bread mixing??
So lovely 😍❤️👍👌🤩😋 gourgios 💞🤗
whats the point if she keep referencing another video that is not even linked in this one! like i showed you before!! you showed me nothing!
She wasn't making videos for UA-cam, she was making a TV programme which included both recipes.
Still not helpful. Why bother to post this useless video with no context.
@AlanHope2013
IKR! Incredible that people can’t see this
Pls tell the ingredients with full measurements thanks
There is the same recipe video in waitrose channel, delia online cooking how to make whole meal bread check it for all the details you need.
Thanks
Check this link for the recipe of this video quick whole meal bread.. www.deliaonline.com/recipes/cuisine/european/english/quick-wholemeal-loaf.html
What is wholemeal flour
Its actually wholewheat flour...its a tyoe of flour...and more coarse and rough (i guess) than a normal flour
I made this today and yes its delicious!
what's the point if the recipe is not there?
Umm, since some 10 years ago Is my guess.

Mine was more like biting into a desiccated haystack. I want my cornfield sandwich grrr! I'm sure the flour is to blame low gluten content etc.

Did it work?
Very old video...20 30 years!
Correct
why didn't you knead it ?
Yeah but you always need to knead bread for about 20 mins
She didn’t knead to
Oven temp would have been helplful
Gas mark 6. It's stated in the video.
what other loaf???how much water?? nit wit
I made this, came out like a brick.
You can make shelter from that, out of the 3 basic necessities you will have 2 in 1. :P
Hahaha
...so..this recipe is for a brick bread...you got it right..lol
Shelter for who? My guniea pigs? Lol @@3000kedar
It's a white flour
"then I added yeast, sugar and salt as I did in the other loaf ..and now I'm adding water..". No clue as to the ratio's.
Baking for mind readers.
No, baking for viewers who’d viewed the first part of the original programme and knew what she was talking about.
Difficult to follow.
nice content

What a useless recipe. No measurements. No temperature. No good.
No yeast?????
Yes. It’s in with the flour. She literally says this!

Please wear sanitary gloves when handling pasta, it looks unhygienic
Yeah Italians are renowned for wearing their pasta gloves.
And if they don’t, everyone dies immediately 🙄
