I absolutely love this place!!! It has a ton of potential! I'm so excited to see you guys restore it! I'm also super interested in how it being a historical property effects the whole process. Good luck you guys!! I already know the house will be so beautiful when you are finished with it 🤩🥳🏡

Interesting concept, but more interested in taking one of those old fixerup house, and return it into a one large single family home. I am interesting to take one section at a time, and move into one of the apartment while I still fixing up the rest of the house.

I think making it into four larger units with storage for the tenants is a great idea! My husband and I live in RI and want to sell our home and looking for a rental but they are small and expensive with no storage. The price range for a 2-3 bedroom her is anywhere from $1800-$2400/mo. Rentals are ridiculous!

Yay for saving the house! You mentioned possibly Bnbing it: I don't know about your area, but at least in mine Airbnbs and vacation homes are absolutely destroying our home market. There aren't even semi-affordable rentals for people working more entry-level jobs. This is creating a big job shortage because those people can't afford to live here anymore. So now places like little shops, restaurants etc have had to shorten their hours or close. My point being, if you really wanting to do that house on Airbnb, maybe only do 1 or 2 units, and then still have the other 2 as long-term units. Just a thought :)

I think it is pretty and I like the layout as it is. People need small efficiency places to rent. Everything is being turned into luxury Air BNB properties for the wealthy on their vacations. Where are the lower income people supposed to live? I can see all those units looking pretty nice if it was just restored. The only ones I can't see are the basement ones with no windows. Maybe I would use that for storage instead. Each tenant could have extra storage in the basement for bikes, etc.

Yup. You can get a house cheap if you have the money to fix it up properly. You also have to want to live wherever the cheap house is. I would never want to live in the South, even though I love the houses there. Same for the East Coast. I hope you don't kill all the character that house has. So many people do that - they rip out all the vintage tile and built ins.

Hi folks, a new subscriber here from Ireland. My best guess is that if you bring in a contractor your budget would be over a $1,000,000 unless you have a trade cert yourselves. if you are an electrical and or mechanical trade person which would cut the budget by a quarter. Could I suggest you should install ethernet cables along with the electrical cables because internet is getting cheaper by the year and smart TVs are booming. When you are doing the sheet rocks which we call plasterboards, get the insulated sheet rocks.

And one last comment if the home is in an area that is low income or not. Desirable it'll be very hard to find good tenants and they will continually damage your apartments I know this from experience so the best thing to do is restore the home to its original Splendor with all the architectural details and make it a single-family home and then you targeted specific buyer

What also confuses me is the house went through a fire which means the wood must be weak and it's weak because firemen must have got in there spray the place down with water so forth and so on so, place locked up for some time which means mold is in there squatters is in there peeing and doing whatever which means bad air quality.

That is really cool. Reminds me of a little one bedroom apartment I had in college that was a big house divided up into multiple units. Is that what it originally was, or was it always planned as a multi-unit residence? If that is a college town, it might be nice to have some one bedroom units in there for students who have had bad luck with roommates so want to live by themselves. Then could also have some units for short term rentals.
