Thanks for the upload. These Ugorski live recordings are always a discovery. He played everything in a very personal way, original and without referring to "traditions" or "interpretative schools". Makes me wonder what's the point of being an interpreter nowadays, and what in depth can mean being a musician. That's the greatest accomplishment an artist can desire
I believe true musicians belong in the past. Nowadays almost every musician is a copy of their heroes. Musicians no longer dig to discover new meaning to music or to show a different perspective of old things. Finding a good interpreter is like finding the needle in a sea of hay. This is ultimately provoking a long agony of this old art.
@@ADGO Not at all. Zhukov's performance (the one from 1997 on your channel) is clearly planned out, just a bit slow. There is tension and a clear direction in each phrase.
Thanks. I was just curious if you felt this was mainly a tempo issue which is why I asked about Zhukov (my favourite performance). I suppose it was the word 'tension' which got me as I feel that faster performances of this work tend to miss the point. Cheers

@@MARTIN201199 Largely true, unfortunately. Very few interpreters any more.
Удивительно поэтичное исполнение этой сонаты Шопена. Тембр звука его рояля просто волшебный. Это хочется слушать вечно. Браво! Поэт фортепиано!❤🙏🙏
I have a to say this is a wonderful interpretation, full of inventivity and beautiful colors
A tension-free, flaccid performance. It sounds like he was sight-reading, literally. Thanks for sharing.
Do you think the same about Igor Zhukov's performance?

So moving! Thank you!
Огромное спасибо!!! Словно другое произведение услышала..
What a Poetic World!
So Incredible different from typical interpretation!!!
Very interesting interpretation
Fantastischer Mensch und Pianist.
Неожиданная трактовка в первой части влияет на весь замысел: смиренная повествовательность снижает драматизм, будто взгляд в прошлое, без остроты.
Офарин браво🎉
