I didn't fly in the past 2 years but I'm still watching your videos Josh and I will watching Stu's videos also, because I like your presentations, I like drones and I like you guys. You guys showed us how to put together a drone, how to use Betaflight... and give us motivation to build and fly. I would like to fly again, I have still all my drones and stuff (...but less time). We are her for each other in good times and bad times!

Great to see you back flying and doing great reviews, Stu !! I've been looking at this " digital FPV gateway drug " for a while. I have original HDO's , and I really don't want to replace every camera at once in all my drones, so this is a great option. Thanks for the review ! BTW, have you seen the Losi RC motorbike yet ?

Love ya video -- The best way to record, is switch on Record on ARM, it's in the Walksnail menu and when you disarm it stops and saves your video -- (don't have to worry about the record button) it's the best system, then you can do dumb thing that I do, and that is forget to put the SDcard back in the goggles after copying the video off

I like the style of your new videos. When I got into FPV about 2 years ago you were a good source for new products, but everything was always the latest & greatest. One had to watch other videos to get more down to earth reviews of the very same product. I think your new style imo leans more to be educative and serious newcomer-friendly reviews.

Well, I am using with my HDZero goggles and working really well.
One thing I would like Caddx do, is the HDMI cable. The need a right angle one like HDZero sell.

You're a legend Stu.! 💯 The only issue with this is most of our drones now cost less than £250/350 so you may as well buy a used pair of DJI goggles and an air unit. Sell up the old analog goggles.

Yes they definitely do as long as you got a HDMI port but the screen resolution is less than the SKYZONES,tryed it on mine last week and works great
For those who use box goggles , you have an extra frame of latency , skyzone say they are in the works on sourcing new screens for their cobra x goggles. Basically the image needs to be rotated from portrait to landscape, hence the extra frame of latency you get with this setup. I really like my cobra x v2 goggles but not the best with this setup.
Appreciate this comment a lot. I was considering buying these for my cobra x v2s. Probbaly just buy a pair of used HD google when the time comes.
@@AceReaperFPV I really got tired of waiting so when they ran the promotion I jumped on it !!!four years on analog and I still fly my analog quads when I really want to rip, and the experience of seeing HD is perfect for cruising around. I don’t know when I will get another set of goggles but I really don’t regret anything.

Top review Stu...bum bum!! This Walksnail unit would definitely be my route into HD FPV, as i simply couldn't afford anything else. Its crazy how they screwed their business partner over, Fatshark, with bringing this unit out, but trying to tie people into one ecosystem was always going to be a mistake. Also the video is great, This is cheap digital alternative and I have an ideea how to make it even cheaper for who that doesn't have googles. Use it with smartphone ( and put smartphone in VR headset)

This is what I been waiting on. I don’t do DJI. I knew eventually they would come out with a module we could use with our existing stuff. Bet they will make one that fits the fatshark module bay before long

hopefully you can sometime review the hdzero googles/system. Most people blame it because of the low range, but if you use two mini triple feed antennas (yes, those cheap ones) and the 90frames cam at 560p, the penetration is very comparable to the other latent systems.
If I already had the Sky04, that WS reciever would have been my first option. But since I had the Sky02c and because of its low resolution LCD's, I just couldn't upgrade to digital on that and I had to get the HDZero googles.... wich I don't regret at all, but it was a bit expensive for sure.
To me it was mandatory to be able to fly analog and digital with the same gear.
still have my 02x, solid goggle imo tho i picked up hdzero goggles as well
Hello ,i use skyzone cobra v2 . Some people say that there are delay.
Works great with the Walksnail Avatar HD Pro.
I thought about getting the VRX for my Skyzone Cobras , but I heard there’s a ton of latency so I just stuck with analog but I do have the DJI v2 goggles 😅

the included gopro style mount broke on mine almost immediately. I just use the double sided tape and its solid.

The module is great......unless you have Orqa goggles. Very hard to mount on the front.
I get what you mean by value pilot but most of us old school guys don't want to trade in all of our gear everytime someone wants to reinvent the hobby

I purchased a Happy Model Crux 35 digital drone by mistake which wont work with my Skyzone goggles, If i buy the
Caddex walksnail Avatar V rx for my analog goggles will it connect to the Crux 35 digital drone camera ? or only a Caddex walksnail camera ?
mine auto records on Arm. I like for the small drone I fly. only 2.5 inch at my local park
I flew analog since 2014. I dont care for DJI, and HDzero isnt for me. I recently upgraded to a set of HD01 fatsharks after using OG fatshark dom V2 since the dawn of time. this checked all the boxes for me. only down side is V1 VTX dont fit most frames, and the dual antenna is tricky to mount along with the v1 camera being too wide angle. the V2 setup fixed all of that and today walksnail is almost perfect IMO. the included cables kinda suck. the dual 90 degree HDZERO hdmi cable is a required upgrade.
Does one need to upgrade one's Video TX on the Quad as well, or still use your existing one, or does the Unit attached to the Goggles convert the existing Analogue from the Quad's Camera TX, to Digital, and then sending that out via the HDMI to the Googles HDMI Input?
I'm no expert, but I believe you need a digital camera and TX for it to work. 99% sure.
20:22 This VRX Actually works better with HD0 goggles. You can use the highest frame rate. 😉

It’s made to look like you only need the vrx to make your skyzone digital. No you need the whole camera set-up to achieve this.
