I know some Sikhs do get a little offended when they're referred to as Martial peoples. Their duty is to uphold all responsibilities of all classes of society (Brahmadharma, Kshatriyadharma, Vaishadharma and Sudradharma). So their martial prowess is just a part of their regular duties.
