The Qianlong emperor wasted almost everything from Qing treasure by operating 10 great wars which eventually led to the end of the High Qing era. They are also faced with struggles in campaigns against Vietnam, jinchuan and Burma. Cannot help but we cannot decline that guy is the most resourceful emperor in Asia.😂

Great video, a very interesting side note that isn't often talked about. In response to the manchu invasion the gorkha government was forced to halt its westwards expansion by pulling troops poised to attack garhwal to deal with the immediate qing threat.
Once the treaty of betrawati was signed, the subsequent political instability didn't allow for any further expansion. By the time Bhimsen thapa consolidates power and the conquest of the western himalayas resumes (garhwal was conquered in the 1805 - 6s), the door to kashmir (kangra fort) ends up being blocked by the rising power of Ranjit singh's sikh empire (nepal/sikh war 1809), permanently halting any further expansion westwards, something which wouldnt have happened if the gorkhas had attacked in the 1790s.
So if the 2nd invasion of tibet and the subsequent qing invasion had not happened the gorkhas would have MOST LIKELY ended up conquering the kashmir valley, an event the great Leo E Rose says in his book "Nepal strategy for survival" could have changed the fate of certainly nepal but maybe also the entire subcontinent (EIC might have had a harder time conquering the subcontinent basically). Historical what ifs are so fascinating.
Edit correction: Garhwal was conquered in 1804 not 1805

One thing you failed to mention was when China was marching towards Kathmandu, the weather got worse and rivers(if I'm not mistaken it's trisuli river) were flooding which heavily damaged Chinese army. Taking advantage Nepal started fighting back slowly beating Chinese army and driving them back. Then Nepal gave up on chasing Chinese army like Chinese army did because Nepal suffered heavy damage and had states starting revolutionary battle to be freed from Nepal. Because of that Nepal decided not to chase Chinese army and further focus on the revolt problem and then sign the treaty. Saying Chinese army could have won is little overstatement because the weather caused floods and stuff which heavily damaged Chinese army and favored Nepali army that Chinese army were retreating.
