It seems odd they don’t include an AC. I suppose it’s to get more money. I liked that odd room area. I love watching yalls videos. I remember my grandmother’s trailer. It was from the late 70s I believe. Howdy from Houston
The reason they’re not adding AC is because it’s not mandatory I guess it’s probably a federal law I don’t no who made the law state or federal. there’s a law that says that you have to have heat.
@@mybrotherdonnie Another thing about their included AC system, I got a clayton MH in late '17 that came with a nordyne heat pump. They did inform me about how they intended it to operate in that in the summer there could be days where I felt like it wasn't keeping up. it is supposed to be for humidity control but they undershot it by about a half ton of cooling. On those days I would start out with it set at 68 and by 5pm it would creep up to 76. it kicked butt on heat without even needing the electric heat strips. I ended up just selling it and getting a package unit installed. It started sucking water THROUGH the micro-channel coil because of how much air it was being made to handle. 0/10 I wish I would have just checked the no ac box. If I ever get another one of these I will just go with mini splits as the master bedroom and bath end up getting all the cooling/heating
For one with no Ac included, I would have to have it in the woods where there's plenty of shade and no need for ac, I don't think my grandpa ever had AC in his 59 model trailer. but he's gone as of 2015, he was a couple weeks from 85 but dementia and a second stroke got him.
Hi Houston 👋 howdy from Fort Worth! My bubba and his wife live in Spring, he retired there 4 years ago after living in the North East, Maine, after a career in the Navy, then as a cop, as soon as his youngest graduated HS they left and were here by July! She’s about to graduate from TAMU in Corpus Christi next month. Hope ya had a happy thanksgiving 🦃🍁
Another nice one. I have an idea for the vestibule. Ron could grab a couple machines from the shop and there you go. Thanks to you and Ron. Have a good weekend!
Morning guys!! Hope ya'll been doing good. Thanks for the upload. I like the shutters on the homes it gives character to the normal boring flat look. That door looking like a prison cell door lol.. that would have to go if it was mine honestly. I would install a door like what was shown on the sticker on the fridge... that one was nice. That bathroom was nice upgrade for a single wide.. mine the master had a huge multiperson hot tub and a single person stand up shower. With a second full bath in the hall near the other two bedrooms.
Actually like this set up. Only thing I wish is the shower/tubs were one pieces and there would be a actual dining table. -- Hear me out here. A freezer is pretty high on my list of needs. In that "Weird nook space" I would put my freezer BUT I would make a top for it (Pretty much just a cover for the lid with a slight overhang that just fits overtop the lid) and I'd attach drop down legs to it so when you dont need to get to the freezer food you can sit a chair at it and have it in table mode for a laptop setup. Id also do a similar thing to the kitchen since there is no actual dining space I'd put a pop up table under the lip of the bar so when need be it can be extra space/seating for dinners OR attached to the wall perhaps. --- If you didnt need a freezer space you could use it as a office/linen storage cabinet.
That's a pretty nice, standard mobile home, what initially caught my eye was there's no back splash around the kitchen sink/counter area, which could be an easy add-on once it's purchased..Home Depot sells countless types of glue-on back splash panels.
You know I’ve noticed a lot of them do not have backsplash is because the power outlet is too low. Normally the backsplash is like 3 1/2 inches. The power was like 2 inches away from the counter surface on some other ones that I looked at I didn’t necessarily look at this one per say
Honestly nowadays with how fast they are building houses they aren’t really any better than a mobile home as far as I’m concerned. My friend just bought a brand new home in a new subdivision in February of this year and is having a ton of problems from electrical to plumbing. It is a pretty house though. I live in a Clayton home a I love it.
You're right onto something - if anything, these factory built homes are likely built BETTER than most site-built homes these days. The factory homes have everyone under one roof, and everyone is trained by the company (in theory), not to mention the QC inspectors that (in theory) would ensure at least the structure of the home is built to spec. Today's houses will begin to fall apart within 15 years at least, and I'm being generous here! My own house was built in 1954 out of true 2x4 and 2x8 lumber from old-growth trees and brick - those days are looooooong gone!
You would think that a house would have been built better for the price, it's a 20 to 30 year commitment, it just seems like quality was just flushed down the toilet. My mobile home is 25 years old, it has a few problems, nothing I can't fix. What I've discovered is that the joists go the width of the mobile home, the sub floor is tongue and grove, which makes it that much more fun when you have to replace a piece, but since the floor is only supported in one direction, there is no support between the joists which I have had to replace a few spots, I add some support between the joist so I you stand on new piece, you're not going to fall in, because it's the strongest spot. Years ago, I had to tear up the lanolin and carpet. Some how in the front hallway where the furnace is, the condensation from the ac A coil leaked water down inside the furnace and caused a fire, eventually had to replace the furnace but the water leak rotted the floor in front of it.
Interesting choice on the "site built" interior doors (78" likely) with a standard mobile home exterior door (76" whereas a standard door would be 80"). You can tell by the space between the ceiling and the top of the door casing. This will definitely make it easier to replace (at least interior) doors down the road for repair or aesthetic reasons.
I found an ad from 7 months ago of a dealer selling that model with a/c , delivered and installed with skirting for 69,995. Not a bad price just need Donnie to donate some land.
Not a bad price, but not a good price for a rental. In my opinion, I would rather buy one beat up, fix it up and then ruin it because it’s going to get beat up with the renters
@mybrotherdonnie You couldn't pay me enough to get back in the mobile home rental business again. They tear things up and don't want to pay things on time. It's funny that my best renter was a mentally handicapped gentleman, he always paid on-time and kept the place very clean.
The floorplan is similar to my 1999 Fleetwood except the front bathroom is on the end and not between the two bedrooms, I don't have an island. My bathroom is sort of reversed with a round garden tub, the toilet is across from the one-person shower stall in a divided room where the tub is in this lay out, the space for the shower takes a small space away from the master bedroom. The fridge is where it's at, the stove is next to the sink, no island but there is a bar counter which separates the kitchen from the living room.
