Safin winning the US Open against Sampras was a little bit like Boris Becker's first Wimbledon crown. You think "Wow, this kid will dominate for years". And then he stays relevant and one of the best but seems to never fully realize his potential.

If you're going to use HD CBS footage, you'll need to show it in widescreen. I know it exists, you're just covering it up with those blue bars. Re-upload this in widescreen, please, and cover up that CBS watermark.

We're both thinking the same thing. CBS has aired the US Open since 1999 in 1080i and now in 2024 the official US Open channel cannot upload highlights of old matches in HD😔

1. I originally thought that they upscaled this footage with AI too, but no, this is raw. They took this footage straight from CBS, you can see a faint CBS watermark on the top right corner. They covered up the watermark, and potential wide screen, with those blue bars on the side of the screen.
2. I can't answer this one.
