I remember when Dr Martens came out in the UK. They could only be purchased via mail order. They came with a leaflet that said "If the sole splits simply heat a poker in the fire until red and place over the cracked sole to melt it together again"
It's very satisfying to see these shoes being restored. They look like brand new after your very affectionate treatment. I play with the thought to do it myself in the future...especially with my hiking boots, which are expensive.
Man I've been watching your videos and you're truly a master on this! I always loved to do things like this and I have some pairs of docs that need repairs so I was wondering about where to get all those products but the most important the leather filler!!! I never heard about it and I cannot find it anywhere on my country....
Hi! Nice vids! It would be very interesting to see how you can restore "new" Dr. Martens (1460, 1461 or maybe talib) from pressed skin on which cracks form!
dm’s are so expensive now. just bought a pair of 1461 bex for £140. my dad has so many pairs of dr martens from when they were like £30, and he gave me some of them. it’s really cool because i get them for free and they have this nice vintage look, plus, my dad’s friend painted some of his shoes and customised them to look really cool, so i feel pretty lucky wearing some dm’s from the 80s.
They are Doc Martens. I have wore the same pair of Docsalmost every day in winter for 4 years and the soles still look new but I recently restored the uppers. They are not premium leather, but one of the greatest value for low cost brands I can recommend.
I wish I could post a photo. I am still wearing a pair of docs from 1997 ( made in England) but a cobbler cut off the worn sole and glued on a Vibram gumlite sole. It’s due for another resole. Maybe a black Christy sole this time.
My 14 year old Dr. Martens look brand new off the shelf, leather and even the bottom of the sole. Because I use Dr. Martens Wonder Balm on the leather, for the sides of the soles I use Armor All, of course never on the bottom as logic dictates.
Great video as usual! Could you share what leather filler you use, please? I have a pair of boots with similar cracks that I want to repair, but I don't know what product I should use. Thank you!
This is really cool and satisfying to watch but seems like a lot of work and upkeep. I have doc martens work shoes for my job. I work at a food court and occasionally I get grease and food miscellaneous gunk on my shoes and the yellow lace has gotten alittle brownish and the shoes in general aren’t as black as they used to be and it sucks but it just seems like soooo much work fixing it
Hi, I have a Rick Owens black boot pair that I've noticed has a white coating on much of it now, after years of non-wear. Is this called oxidation? Will this trg one universal cleaner help remove the whitish coating off the leather safely and effectively? thanks
Not sure what it’s called but the original black colouring that had some brown fading through looked really nice and aged. I might’ve fancied this restore done all the same but without the new black paint. Beautiful nonetheless
Beau boulot !
True! I actually like the dirty look. But, that's how the aging and wear and tear begins! So best to take the best care of your dr. Martin's if you want them to last 9+ years to a lifetime 😍
Same here. AMSR doesn't do anything for me sadly though from what I hear, I wish it would! Either way, the sounds are quite pleasant. It's something I would listen to when trying to fall asleep. ❤
Do I find all the lotions and Cremes in a normal Shop? I have an old pair of 14hole Docs who need a Restauration. Especially this leather repair lotion. Where do I find this?
Was hoping you'd write up what products you used. Now I gotta go try and freeze frame for the pen you used and I don't think you gave any indication on the dye you used. 😔
Thank you for the complete picture of the process! Would you put clear shoe polish and then shine them up after the last step? Or do you not recommend that? Thank you so much -Lisa
Never mind! I see that the step before the M.Mowbray beeswax with the Saphir Creme Surfine polish in 02 Neutral is that step! Missed that the first time. Thanks again for this awesome start to finish video with all the product details! Much appreciated. -Lisa
You just gave me all it needed to give a second youth to my leather boots. Thank you very much, for all, this video, as well as all the others. You are doing a wonderful job (^_^)
i've been needing to restore my martens for a while. i got them second hand and don't know how old they were at the time and that was a year ago. how pricey are shoe restorations by a pro?
Apparently, it depends on the place, you can get a huge price difference depending on where you live compared to other cities, even within your own country. The best thing to do is take pictures of your shoes at different angles and go to get a quote at several different places where you live, and pick the best one based on the cost and reputation/reviews.
this shoe has better skin care routine than me

lmao
That was true after 10 seconds...
ns bp quickly weigh in and say "Not me!" My skin care routine is all L'Oréal men expert!
That accompanies the complete range...
I was about to right it 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Love the side by side comparison! Most restorers work both shoes at the time. 👍🏽
It’s 2 am why is this so satisfying
Oh shit I read this at literally 2am on the dot lol oops
I remember when a lot of stuff around can be repaired when broken . Now we live in a world of disposable goods . Awesome job !
The final result is amazing!

Nice video, brilliantly displayed and extremely therapeutic!
this is the type of asmr I like!
way better shoe shining than the other channel
I am so impressed by your skills!
I'm planning to buy a Dr. Martens today. That's why this video got my attention.

Excellent work once again Mr. Veviter!
This is so cool and fantastic video 😻👌🏼✌🏼✌🏼
I'm just a little bummed that you didn't dye under the side straps of the boots.
That's what I noticed, too. She missed that area of the boots.

WOW! What I don’t understand is how the uppers could be so worn while the soles look new.

Beautiful and what a satisfying video to watch.

Very nice performance. You know how to treat the old leather. Thanks.
Wow good job 👏🏻👍🏻🤩🤩

Prachtig resultaat!
I mean.. they were not bad in the bigginin, just used a bit and dirty...
True! I actually like the dirty look. But, that's how the aging and wear and tear begins! So best to take the best care of your dr. Martin's if you want them to last 9+ years to a lifetime 😍
the thing is that this shoe doesn’t go bad it’s impossible
isnt it normal for the shoes to have a brown tinge to the black? or was that simply just dirt... im confused
AyumiDreemurr it’s leather. Leather is naturally brown. It’s areas where the black leather dye had begun to rub off
@@jklroxmysox111 oh ok, thanks ^^
