Hello. Not bad but saddle soap is typically used with water and a dauber to create a wet lather to better penetrate the leather. You scrub the leather with the soapy dauber then wipe it off or rinse it. Everything else is excellent. Thank you.

So to dando um palpite. Assim também gasta menos produto. Usando sabao e agua... Parabéns vi outras restaurações que voce fez. Amei..voce e um mestre. Fez um calçado quw nao tinha mIs utilidade ficar novinho. Voce e e demais. Excelente.

Really should use a dobber brush for the saddle soap.
A spray bottle of water to activate the soap.
    Agitate it with the brush
Get a good amount on the bristles
Rub the brush on the inside of the lid to to get off excess
Then use it on the leather

why not saddle soaping it with more water and a brush, like in your other videos?
seems like it would be easier too clean out the stitched are around the moc toe tip

I thought this was a great video. Lots of detailed cleaning. But since the 875 is made from oil-tanned leather, I wouldn't normally use a cream polish on them, as cream polish contains water and certain waxes that can damage oil-tanned leather. Cream polish is more for closed-pore or shiny leathers found in dress shoes. Oil-tanned leather has oil infused into it during the tanning process, so it does best with polishes that contain more oil. I would use something like a neutral Saphir Oiled Leather cream for Chromexcel. Red Wings, Chippewas, and many Dr Martens use oil-tanned leather and you can usually tell if you have it by putting your finger in the shoe and pressing out against the leather. It should change color when you press, which is a good indicator you have it. After the Chromexcel polish, you can add a thin layer of Red Wing mink oil if you want a bit more shine.

This cleaning adds about one hundred dollars to the sale price? Amazing work! We don't get this detailed with the shoes we resell, we leave that up to the new owner. But, this may change my mind about cleaning vintage boots.

@5:32. does regluing the seam on the moc toe work? how long does it last? or does it give up again in a couple of months and you have to repeat the process? great video btw. your level of care and attention to detail is second to none. I wish I had your patience.

They look "NEWer" but with the Patina that most people like. On top of that, the shoes have been 'Broken-In' - thus making them more comfortable.
What I would like to see is Reconditioning of the Soul's and a general 'Freshening Up' as to remove any preworn odor's! Something to the point that the shoes would be very acceptable for Resale!
    Great Job. Thank you

If my boots are that dirty I typically use a brush on some dampened saddle soap to clean them first and then I wipe the excess off with a moist microfiber. I then put them to the side so they can properly dry off. Doing that will clean the stitching and the bottom real good. After they dry I use Cadillac leather moisturizer on them and lightly buff them out to a shine. If it's rainy season, I use a thin layer of Mink oil after the moisturizer dries off and I heat that layer with a blow dryer so it can completely melt and sink into hard to reach areas.
