23,000 miles on a car that apparently was on the road for around 17 years? (made in 88, tags in 2005). Wonder if it was 123k miles? What really destroyed Yugo was a complete ban on parts and their plant getting destroyed, which accounts for the workarounds.
It wasn't really destroyed if you mean on 90s period, Yugoslavia only was under UN sanctions. Production of Yugo model continued up to 2000s until it stopped as factory was sold to Fiat.
@@stefanerasimovic9528 Factory was destroyed and heavily damaged in NATO bombing ..was bombed for 2 nights ..i know because i live near it ..it was restored after it
My dad kept one running till the early 2000s in northern California. Apparently its an even cheaper copy of a fiat 128, and many of the parts are interchangable. Though to my younger memory it seemed to run on precussive maintence, swearing, and spite. He actually prefers this car over his PT cruiser, due to how simple the engine was to work on.
That's awesome! Great video. Did you end up restoring it and giving it some new rims, tires, and a paint job? It'd be a fun car to drive around for leisure.
the engine is design from Lampredi who also dit the Ferrari engines , it is a good reving one ,only look to the cambelt but this can rev about 9000 with no problems ,i had a Fiat Uno 55s (same engine as the Yugo ) i putted a carburateur from weber and it was fast ,the engine was still running but the car went to scrap all rotted away
Love the Yugos there’s one down a street which we Walk to sometimes and we’re trying to get the owner to let us restore well not us my dads mate Scott from socttilind and we’re trying to save it for him and I don’t why there so hated but they buy it so they must like it so thanks for the upload and let’s see if Scott can come down .
You say they don't last long....you said it's a 1988...you also said it was last on the road in 2005...that's 17 years..most new American car brands don't last that long...
If someone gave me a beautiful new car and a trust fund to pay for gas, insurance, license…..I think I would be afraid to drive it. I love cruising Craigslist for cheep cars like this. Fortunately I don’t have room.

@midiplaybox3453 probably not, at least not without destroying quality. The Yugo is a pile of crap, they never were any good. They were cheap and built of very low quality materials, end result was a car so bad if you had 3, 2 would always Be in for repair
The first of many times I watched that movie I missed the very beginning where they described the Yugo dump on Verplank, NY. So I started noticing everybody's driving a Yugo, WTF?
Now, let's be real .. Yugo is not that bad car ,as they told us 😄
What an amazing little car , how many modern cars could do that , . , yugo so durable
Oh, man! That feels good. Congratulations! I had a white one. Only new car I ever bought. I wish I still had it.
I have a 1988 GVX myself. The car is fun to drive and I get asked questions about it all the time.
nice to hear that. In what state you live?

YUGOs are undestroyable but the country it came from unfortunately is. Samo rokaj braleee
I have the exact same car, but all intact. Save the Yugo.
Are you going to restore it? I also recommend you join the Yugo America Facebook page

Incredible find, I hope you restore it. GVXes are not easy to find.
I wonder why it was left for dead?
Because it’s crap. Nobody wants a yugo other than people like us who like that sort of stuff. (I assume you like since you want to see a restoration)
I watch his other channel. He still drive it
That's a bloody lie
Was the GV+ trim level above the GVX?
@ 3:00 Speedometer cable is unhooked. That explains the 21,000 miles.

Now you need to restore a Renault LeCar. Great video.
Lecars we're lejunk
I heard that the Yugo, was a favorite among criminals in bad neighborhoods.
It was frequently involved in push-by shootings.

Love it man, so fun.
Yugo ima dusu , Zastava da je izvrsila osavremenjavanje i da je nisu namerno unistili mogla je jos uvek da ih proizvodi.
A Yugo made it that long tagged. Likely spent so much time broke down it never could get more miles on it
In junior high my neighbor had one. I got my first kiss and bj in that yugo. I cried when her husbands job transferred them.
Yugo es un carro fiel.
The best of the best. YEEEES.
avrebbe bisogno di un bel restauro completo😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
Yugo…..It’s not that bad !
Where in Arizona did you find this? I knew a guy who owned two yugo's about 26 miles south of Eloy.
You rock
Excellent 🤗
Yugo GVX JAROOO 💪🤣
Is that an FSO Polonez next to it and a Lada behind it at the beginning?
This car is good enought. Is a Fiat cousin. Fiat 147 in Brazil. There ware SW: Panorama, Sedan: Oggi; Pick-ups... Fiat pick-up.
I would restore the Yugo if I was you

Please restore this beauty! There is a lot of people from Eastern Europe with a lot of money they would pay all the money for it.

what a piece of junk, i love it :D

Just fix that "minor" crack in the frame and it's "good as new". Great mechanics. The car? Meh.
It's the best worst car ever imported to America 😊

When ex Yugo ends up in the US and find abandoned Yugo… that was piece of shit even for Yu standards back then.

Can Mercedes make a car for the same price as the Yugo?
