- In this video, I reveal the average age of a LIV golfer. The PGA Tour and others, including Jack Nicklaus, have created the perception that LIV Golf is only for "old" golfers, is that true? What's the average age of a PGA Tour golfer, and how does that compare to the average age of a LIV Golfer? Let's find out and debunk myths and PGA Tour lies about LIV Golf.
How many golfers are in LIV? Currently, 48 golfers make up the entire LIG Golf player directory. Let's review the birthdays of every single LIV Golf player, calculate their age, and compare the average age of a LIV Golf player to a PGA Tour member.

Thanks - I had pondered over this because of some of the inane critical comments coming from PGA groupies and determined that I would try to find the ages and prepare a spreadsheet to become better-informed - BUT you did it for me. As an Octogenarian golfer I strongly object to 'Ageism' in any arena and golf is no exception.
@Greg Ralph, appreciate you stopping by the channel, this was one of the first pieces of content I did, neat to look back at it. The Google Sheet I created is dynamic, so I went back in to take a look, and the average age ticked up slightly from 34.5 to 34.8. Definitely a fun fact, but as I consider the overall PGA vs LIV feud, my opinion is age was just one of a multitude of silly superficial points of artificial contention - it doesn't really matter too much, or at all, especially in light of the fact that the averages are so close 😁

You’re forgetting out of 48 LIV players ,over twenty-percent of the field is over forty. The majority of their stars they often tout are over forty: Michelson, Westwood, Garcia, Poulter, Oosthuizen, Stenson, McDowel, Casey, Watson, Kaymer. DJ and Schwartzal are the thirty-eight.
So although the two tours average age is about the same, the talent and their age are way different.
More to it than that. I compared the ages of the top 12 fedex Standings vs Live Standings. Check the ave but I think there were 4 liv golfers well in their 40s, none in fedex. Go figure

Shocker no doubt! Nice job compiling the average ages of both LIV and PGA Tours. Find myself wondering what the average age of players who've won events on the PGA Tour over the last year would be.....

Good research & point CG! I would appreciate seeing some research/data on the average age of a PGA viewer vs LIV viewer. This is where I believe LIV is truly “growing the game” by appealing to & reaching younger viewers. I think LIV streaming commercial free via UA-cam is actually an advantage over PGA broadcasting with incessant commercials via traditional TV networks (I do not know anyone below the age of 30 who subscribes to cable or watches network TV).
@Keith Rieger, thanks for stopping by the channel and weighing in with your thoughtful comment, I really appreciate it. LIV Golf definitely has some decent demographic information on viewers given they're streaming through UA-cam and Google (who owns UA-cam) is all about data and analytics. Statistically speaking, I think LIV would absolutely be skewed younger than a PGA Tour audience for the simple fact LIV is only broadcasting through UA-cam and not a network TV deal. Regardless of age, most people don't watch commercials any longer, that's why the PGA Tour started muting golf and flashing commercials on a split screen, but many fast forward through that too. I've been looking at UA-cam viewership counts during LIV Golf events and their latter tournaments in the US doubled from event to event toward 100K watching at a time, I don't believe the events taking place outside the US are a fair comparison because they're at odd hours (for those in the US). From a business perspective, it's highly unlikely LIV will get a "traditional" network TV deal, I suspect typical networks are fearful of the unwritten potential retaliation by the PGA Tour. UA-cam is a fantastic distribution platform for LIV Golf, a little risky however given LIV is not in control of its own destiny as they don't own the platform or have a contractual agreement with UA-cam, yet that could change if LIV shifted to, say, UA-cam TV for instance.
