Most people just don't understand how violent and aggressive deer can be. Just because they're prey animals doesn't mean they're always gonna run, any threatened animal has the potential to become violent and defend themselves. It's disappointing how many people laugh when their dogs are trying to chase after deer, or other animals in general. It's not funny or cute. Deer are wild animals and your dog very closely resembles their natural predator, of course they're going to react negatively to it. Just goes to show how detached we are from the real world.
