You need to get out in the western NY area more during hay season cause this custom crew with the JD tractors have been using this set up for years.

What is the horse power requirement for the pull behind unit? I heard you mention a 250 hp motor on the self propelled unit.
Depends on fields and hills, but most common is around 225-300hp to pull the mergers.
Not sure why it takes $4M worth of equipment to make hay. Grass was wore out by the time it made it to the final windrow. Can someone smart please explain to me why anyone would own a triple merger with less than 1000 acres of hay?
A 1000 acres of hay is a lot so you do need all that equipment
