- Majority of people were really disappointed with how Khaos Reigns panned out. I decided to throw some ideas on how things could have been a bit better.
Major points of contention include the treatment of characters and how Khaos Reigns hurt their value.

Admits to his deception surrounded by his enemies in the heat of battle while Cyrax is in possession of their two of a kind experimental Iron Man armor and proceeds to get his ass handed to him alongside his girlfriend.

Nobody with real talent, that's for sure. Like how tf do you fuck up a story so bad? TWICE!?
Right, when Sub zero said "We'll be ready when she does", I'm thinking that means they must have some sort of backup plan. At least , that's what common sense would say. Like, Maybe Cyrax's suit has some sort of built-in Override command that allows Sektor to control the suit remotely, even while Cyrax is inside it. Or at bare minimum, maybe Cyrax's suit has a self Destruct built into it, or Sektor has some way to auto-lock/Deactivate the suit. SOMETHING
If they didn't have a backup plan and they KNOW Cyrax is likely to turn on them when she learns the truth, then why Bring her on this mission in the first place? You had plenty of advantage without her. Literally had the place Surrounded with hundreds of Archers on all sides and Sektor raining bullets through the only exit. It should have been a Bloodbath.
Instead, you Run in (Losing your positional advantage of having your enemy Surrounded), tell Cyrax the truth without having a backup plan, and immediately get your ass kicked and captured.

The saddest part is Netherrealm are great at making everything look pretty. Chaosrealm looked absolutely phenomenal and made me really excited for the story to come but the story just… didn’t happen.

Was Haviks timeline even ever called Chaosrealm? I’m pretty sure it was just what existence looked like once Havik became a Titan in his timeline, it’s not directly supposed to be an iteration of Chaosrealm
@@shadow-squid4872 it essentially is Chaosrealm. Havik created his perfect reality which is in of itself a world devoid of order led by the “religion” of chaos. Basically just one big unified Chaosrealm.

Mk9 story was the last real story

MK9’s story was bad too. But it is the last time MK truly felt like MK.

They just poorly shoved MK1, MK2, and MK3 into MK9 and thought that was good enough to get them to MK4 (MKX), but that isn't the case. The 3d games did well without the tournament template because at that point, the characters fought their battle in MK3. The story developed outside of the need for a tournament, and did so pretty well. MK9's story didn't deliver the same arcs, so it, at least to me, feel unearned.
Well, if you pay attention to story closely, there is literally no theme or meaning there. Cyrax and Sektor win every battle they fight and they have no weakness to overcome. It didn't feel like they put any effort into writting the plot

This was definitely a money grab from NRS in my opinion. Ed Boon is blocking people who criticize the game! That shows me how they really feel about their fans who have supported this franchise for 30 years! NRS has gone SOFT!

There's a huge difference between just criticizing the game and spreading hate, which Mk fans are mostly doing the latter unfotuntely.

Main problem with this story is the writers seem to not understand human psychology...it is amazing they made every character unlikable,they are empty,down right stupid,annoying ...the plot doesn't make sense at all,the things characters do don't make sense ...

I think this DLC is the first time NRS has made a MK story that wasnt even just fun to watch.
Theblast half of mk9-mk1's story was all pretty dumb and completely inconsistent, but at least they were fun to watch/play.
Chaos reigns just has nothing going for it, which is why everyone keeps talking about the Emperor Rain scenes......he's the only highlight of the story........and he's nothing more than a variant of a character we actually want to see

@@just_2swift Kung Lao should have been the humble one this time around cause of Liu Kang's heavy influence on his heritage and therefore Earthrealm's Champion, whearas Raiden should have been a cocky douche due to his previous life as a divine being. And with Liu as their Godlike mentor, the trio have all swapped roles.
Instead Raiden is a cardboard cutout and Lao is reduced to Johnny's comedic assistant

The most important thing about MK lore is basically forgotten in the start: you cannot just invade another world and start killing people or else you will be just blasted by Elder Gods (which happened to Shao Khan in the end of MK9). Havik does absolutely the same and gets away with it, so I wonder where are the Elder Gods in this realm.

That's literally where 'Mortal Kombat' comes from. It's the name of these grand inter universal tournaments to control the flow of war. Imagine my surprise when the 'tournament' in MK1 were 3 sparring sessions in a crowd of 10 spectators that was wrapped up in 10 minutes
Most likely nowhere. Liu Kang is a titan which makes him a higher tier entity than what the elder gods were. We saw what happened to them in MK11 when Kronika didn’t want them around anymore. I don’t think Liu recreated the elder gods as they are not necessary as long as we have Liu Kang there. But even if they were there, Havik was a titan of his own timeline, which makes him the same as Liu Kang, so the elder gods would do nothing to him, even if they were there.
Kronika killing the elder gods was the writer's way of killing any potential for the story to be coherent or good anymore. Now there are no elder gods
@@arpadszabo661 the story became so ass I even forgot that Kronika actually deleted the Elder Gods. I mean this is ass because there are no more “checks and balances” so the so called writers can do whatever they want (in a bad way).

To be honest, if it were up to me, I wouldn’t have taken Mortal Kombat in this direction whatsoever; so I’m glad you were able to come up with solid changes to this shambolic dlc story lol. I’d be hard pressed to.
If I were to add one thing to the conversation, I feel that current MK is missing an “edge” when it comes to its stories. The tone of the narrative should be more haunting & even horror inspired, because we are playing a fighting game where killing your opponent is more or less the selling point. Right now, the MK lore feels like a mock MCU plot that doesn’t carry a unique identity of its own. This fix I think would be pretty cool.
Don’t get me wrong, the cheesy elements of MK should stay baked into the product, but without some dark vibes to balance it out we get things like this.

Regarding Sektor's Iron Man armor, I'd imagine they couldn't pry her out of it. Though it still begs the question how she wasn't able to free herself without Sub Zero's aid
Your Sektor explanation for Sub Zero's reason for jumping through the portal sounded pretty good cause as it stands his reason in game was absolutely nonsensical. He had no reason to follow Havik at all. To top it off, cutting to black instead of showing this man tearing spines through necks and taking down a hundred of Havik's goons was an even bigger middle finger to an already disserviced character. It only doubled down on making him look like an even more incompetent fool and not the smart, cunning badass of Mythologies

The story should have just been smaller and focused more on Bi Han vs Kuai Liang.
And just left all the timeline and multiverse stuff out of it.
At most maybe someone gives Bi Han a vision that there’s a way he can gain power and he seeks out Titan Havik to become Noob Saibot.
I HATE this version of Bi-Han. Like he didn’t need to be a “good guy” but it’s crazy because just when you get to the point where your like oh maybe he learned or is learning” NRS is like lol lol lol “NOPE” and it’s crazy because it seems like every character has more actual character progression in Mk1 in Liu Kangs timeline than from the original timeline EXCEPT Bi-Han, and Kung Lao. I’d say those two actually regressed a bit. He at least should have been more like his original timeline counterpart part and been a true neutral.
Also his voice is laughable. He sounds like he's trying too hard and it's really annoying.

This is an excellent revision of an afterthought story. And it all sounds like you just winged it. That shows the state of modern MK writing.
I did haha. At 1 in the morning. Phone was dead as well so didn't refer to anything prior I may have spoken about. NRS are creatively bankrupt. I ended up thinking this over and came up with a 3 part story for 3 games to fix this whole mess. I should send Ed Boon an email and tell him to get me in there 😂 I'd like to try my hand. I still feel like it was AI Written or AI assisted, the way they just dropped Titan Havik after Bi Han ran through him. Man drop out of the story with no resolution. Just look at how everyone forgot about him after he lost his legs not only that all the Klones he created.
You wonder if… it WAS ai written and NRS thought “let’s see if AI can make a story, and if people will like it or not.”
So now they’d know AI couldn’t, and still made a good amount of $ off it.
A bit of a conspiracy theory, but would have been a whacky experiment if that was the case.
Power level inconsistencies are a weird one in Mortal Kombat. Yes, the person who has his or her chapter is going to defeat God. That's just how NRS writes their story modes. You don't like it, I don't like it, no one likes it. But that's just how they do things. The best we can do is to try to explain all of that with lore. And if we try to do that, the only way to explain it, is by entertaining the idea of powerful Mortal Kombat characters not being physically more powerful than others but by having more magical power and influence.
That's how you can explain someone like Kung Jin defeating Kotal Kahn in MKX. Should Kung Jin have been able to defeat the Emperor of Outworld based on their standing and abilities? Not really. But the outcome still proves that Kung Jin is the better fighter and Kotal Kahn never got a chance to cast his abilities.
In Mortal Kombat 11 Shinnok talks to Raiden and tells him the following: "Not even you are powerful enough to kill an elder god, Raiden". Raiden responds with: "There are fates worse than death" and then goes on to behead Shinnok. Raiden also gives his power to Liu Kang which allows Liu Kang to defeat Cetrion, an elder god, and Kronika, a titan. And Kronika as well always feared Raiden and Liu Kang. Considering how Raiden killed every Liu Kang across all timelines and if we look by how quickly he did it in MK9 (hit him with one lightning in self-defense), we can see that Raiden is easily one of the most powerful Mortal Kombat fighters. But that doesn't mean that he has more power / influence than any of the elder gods or let alone a titan. Raiden commands lightning. Kronika commands time and space.
Let's talk some more about Raiden. Raiden defeats Geras who grows more powerful with each death. And to prepare for Raiden, Geras dies a 1000 deaths. And before that Geras already easily "defeated" Liu Kang and Kung Lao by stopping time. Time stops don't work on Raiden since he is a god as we see it with Kronika stopping time and kidnapping Liu Kang. Another example is Raiden defeating Revenant Liu Kang who had a) mastered Shinnoks magic and b) had absorbed young Liu Kangs soul to increase his power.
Which then leads us to the next problem: Why was young Scorpion able to beat Raiden in MK11 which then led to Raiden using Shinnoks amulet on Scorpion. I think that one can easily be excused by stating that Raiden always holds back against people from Earthrealm. He just does. But what about when we look at Jacqui and Jax defeating Noob Saibot? Should that ever happen? Well, like with the difference between gods and titans, just having more magical power doesn't necessarily mean that you'll automatically win by default. Noob Saibot is still only as physically strong as the other two - potentially even physically weaker due to their tech. The strength to rip people apart Noob Saibot displays in Fatalities is not really lore accurate for him, physically.
Which then leads us to the question if Noob Saibot should be able to defeat a trained ninjas like Sektor and Cyrax in power armor? Remember that in the old timeline the cyborgs were specifically created to make the Lin Kuei better and they easily captured Smoke. Lorewise Sub-Zero and Noob Saibot can't seem to defeat Cyrax because they're physically inferior and their magical abilities are not strong enough to compete with the tech. That's why Outworld was also importing (stealing) military tech from Earthrealm.
Does all of that feel bad? Absolutely. But it's just different than in Street Fighter where Akuma is the top dog or Tekken where Kazuya is the top dog. There most other fighters don't stand a chance. In Mortal Kombat you always had actors and martial artists fighting ninjas and wizards with magical abilities and being able to win. The only exception are gods, elder gods and titans, who all compete in a separate tier against each other. That's how I personally see it. Two tiers. All the regular beings from the various realms, be their magical or not. And then the second tier with all the gods, elder gods and titans who function the same as the beings from the first tier, just on a higher magical level. That's why Jacqui can beat Noob Saibot but can't beat Raiden who is respected and feared by elder gods. Raiden has defeated an amped Shao Kahn, something the elder gods couldn't do. They tried, failed and then healed Raiden and let him do the job.
TL-DR:
Don't put Mortal Kombat fighters into different tiers. Like Sub-Zero being S tier, Cyrax being B tier and therefore Cyrax not being allowed to beat Sub-Zero. That's how Street Fighter and Tekken work. That's not how Mortal Kombat works. In Mortal Kombat you have only two tiers: the high tier and the low tier. The high tier incorporates all of the gods, elder gods and titans and they compete against each other. They're all capable of defeating each other given the right circumstances and are only separated by the magican influence they have over the universe - which doesn't typically help them in fights. In the low tier you have all of the humans, monsters, ninjas and wizards. Some of them have more magical power than others but that doesn't necessarily translate to combat prowess. Which is why armored up or teched up characters like Cyrax or Jax can compete with magical ninjas. Sure, there are sometimes bad match-ups like Jax getting his arms blasted off by a telekinetic ninja he can't even reach. But Jacqui fighting Noob Saibot? Not necessarily a bad match up since Noob Saibot is still only a ninja who can summon a shadow clone and hence turning the fight into a 2v1.

Before watching the video just at the top of my head. Bihan succeeds his assault on the shirai ryu, leaving scorpion barely alive. Hanzo hasashi as one of the victims filled with rage and vengeance, thinking of the clan as his family got wiped out swears to destroy sub zero at any cost. Quan chi appears from different timeline (boys. i hate this word) takes advantage of him and makes him Hellspwan Scorpion. After beating bihan hanzu rebuilds the shirai ryu and kuai liang goes back to the lin quai to keep his fathers legacy but as a cryomancer.
End credit scene: mysterious figure walk towards bihan's corpse or soul saying ((i have plans for you)). We get scorpion, sub zero and noob sabot original story back.
More or less, this can go for another story expansion, but what do i know.

There's NO sense in what NRS & Woker Bros does no more! I was hoping it'd have an apocalyptic plot similar to Majora's moon crashing, or FFXIV's destruction or even related to a system crash! But NO! Unlike Aftermath there's no closure!
When MK gets sold out I hope the 3rd nail in the coffin would end everything, unless it'd have the same fate as what the atrocious Batman & Robin had, setting up a sequel but there is nothing!! The sooner that Dominic's failed experiment crashes & burns, the better!!

my head canon for cyrax beating scorpion is maybe he’s super furious, and he hasn’t seen the suits ever and they’re obviously super strong. i can see why he got bested. but i agree with everything and id like these changes

Your ideas are fantastic!!! I thought the Same so many times with sub Zero Not fighting against the minions of havik in the Chaos realm and Rain Not Doing while fighting for his wife….and many more!! Such great ideas from you!!

You should hear some of the ideas from fans who are actually invested in the lore. Those people are the ones who should be hired. There is so much potential and it's wasted on the one amateur they assigned this to

That's a neat idea. But Harumi raising Hanzo is such a disturbing thought considering the past 2 timelines. Imagine if someone came to you and said that your mother was actually your wife in a previous life.
Random thought. But once you started talking about how we should’ve saw the torture scene for Bi-Han becoming Noob Saibot so we can get some lore reasons on how he was created like a different take as you’ve said.
I have an idea that if they should’ve showed the torture scene and have Havik explain who is Saibot. Ever since you had a half ass excuse like oh HES CONTROLLED BY HAVIK. And make him say I am perfect blah blah and I am chaos. But instead add more depth where Havik injected a spirit of the real Noob Saibot from the previous timeline. If you remember in MK9 that Noob basically embraced chaos teamed up with Havik and became the leader of the Netherrealm. So let’s say Titan Havik was fucking around because look at his world he does some crazy stuff. Have the spirit of that MK9 Noob and inject it into MK1 Noob so they share this vision of “Chaos” so it creates that Doc Oct dynamic you were talking about from Spider-Man 2. That was just me thinking about that in 5 minutes and yet we got a crappy black screen like in a Disney movie from NRS smh. But good shit Mike always watch your videos because you actually care about the MK scene and want to improve it. Instead of coping. And say YEAH ITS GOOD WORTH THR $50

Great rework, and I like the whole idea of not sacrificing established characters needlessly. Would have loved to see Shao and Reiko more involved too, I thought Shao was gone though. My bad if you explained his return or he's actually still in the story. It's a small thing to me, but I was waiting during Sektor and Tanya's maze run, when they were fighting the twins. I thought they'd get the upper hand on one of them. Right before the kill, the other twin would beg for her sister's life.
I know it's MK, not Relationship Kombat but, I thought Tanya was going to die, and Mileena was going to help out with the other timeline where she was alive but married to Rain and she'd struggle with that.
I’m glad you touched on this because it almost always gets ignored but it’s truly immersion breaking and bothersome when there is absolutely zero power levels and the story can’t even stay consistent with its own canon. Anyone in their own chapter can defeat anybody and everybody and it just doesn’t make any sense. Why would Tanya defeat Noob and Noob defeat TITAN Havik with the power of the hourglass and all 6 Kamidogus…. A simple explanation would have gone a long way.
My headcanon is that's Bi-Han's original hand to anchor his soul to his new body and keep enough of Bi-Han to fuel the magic. When he embraces chaos, he's ridding himself of who he was to become Noob fully, gameplay-wise.
It could also explain why Liu was able to bring back his mind without reversing his body and abilities. The body may be permanently changed but the hand would be a catalyst for who Bi-Han was.
Before the DLC dropped, I thought it would be Smoke's or Kuai Liang's as a trophy and their soul would be used as a buff to his clone as a servant wraith.

I agree with nearly what you said. Especially regarding Rain. He's one of my favorite characters and it's nice to get some South Asian representation in a fighter when there is almost none. But they've been doing this guy dirty for a long time. Even his death here wasn't that heroic.
And Tanya barely caring and having his death effect her cannot happen. None of the women in MK games really are allowed to show any kind of weakness it seems. They will grieve for a second if that and move on/be strong. While the dudes generally act dumb, brash, immature, or are sacrificed. It's getting a bit predictable at this point.
I was really happy with the whole update, animality the buffs and nerfs seemed good and fair, the new stages are cool, tower of times is back, noob is badass but nrs being nrs they had to ruin it with this mid ass multiverse story and warrior shrines disappointment...i suppose the best thing we can do is to not waste our money on the storymode itself

Wild hoodie overlord, lemme run something by you with this mk story. What if, bi han never turned to noob in this Khaos reign expansion? Say that he was still sub zero and he knew (somehow because it’s mk) killing havik would destroy the chaotic timeline. But liu tries to stop him because they could kill “innocent millions” so liu kills bi han accidentally and it sends him to the netherrealm to become noob like the old timelines? It could be a full circle from when raiden accidentally killed liu kang in mk9. It keeps the classic lore intact just switching from scorpion killing bi han its liu kang. Almost like mk9 when raiden killed liu kang so the elder gods could punnish shao for disobeying the mortal kombat rules of conquering earth realm . That, to me, would be the best route. This could cause conflict and all characters could be affected by it. They’d see this happen (including outworlders seeing it) and lose faith in the protector of earth realm/timeline. It can Cause a rift between the realms. Then start the rivalry between outworld and earthrealm instead of pointless multiverse characters tryna take over this new timeline. Bring back that classic realm vs realm feel. I’m Just saying, NRS can value from a lifelong mk lore head lol.
Ur idea of having slowly getting weakened is exactly how I imagined the story mode would be.
The gameplay will be characters alternating fights with havik, have some or all of them lose the fight but havik will show weakness as a few matches go on. Also visually havik will fight with missing limbs to further the storytelling. Hell maybe even start the fight with missing health already. Tekken 8 did all of that and It was amazing.
For an on the spot change of story that was pretty good, my biggest dream for the story would be to introduce Onaga but with how these stories have been since MK X and now with these new timelines it makes me not want them to touch up on Onaga cause I fear they’d fumble that story
Yeah, I'd personally focus on Shao's invasion angle and Outworld tournament for the next game and then start building towards Onaga for the 3rd plot.
In my opinion and in an ideal word and scenario, the whole Khaos Reigns story should've never happened, at least not at this time. Havik as main villain would've been much served in a future game in a main story where his main timeline character already had the time to develop and fully embrace his chaotic ways. It would give us the whole Orderrealm VS Chaosrealm plot from Deception that people loved but much more cinematic and deeper.
For a 1.5 / 2 hour story, it would've been much suited to have a story that either:
a) Focuses on the conflict between the Lin Kuei and Shiray Ryu. Other characters can still show but the main players and focus should obviously be SZ, Scorpion, Sektor, Cyrax. Smoke can either have a bigger role or die at the hands of Bi-Han to advance the story, and you still introduce Noob. Hell even side characters like Takeda, Frost and this timeline's version of Hanzo can play a role.
b) Like you mentioned an Outworld civil war between Shao and Mileena, with Lui Kang and his allies trying to aid the empress while at the same time having to fight their own war with Bi-Han's Lin Kuei. Now this may be an unpopular opinion, but since they're so adamant about shifting and altering history one twist they can do here which might really cause a riot, is having Kitana pull of a Sindel and secretly betray her realm and ally with Shao. They can explain as jealousy towards her sister and having to live in her shadow under her reign even after she was compromised with Tarkat.
That's just my take. Other than that, liked your revisions. Definitely would make better story than what we got.

Bro think about it the end credit scene for this DLC it could’ve been General Shao and his rebellion taming Onaga or at least Onaga braking free and going on a rampage cause Rikos tower ending shows him going to fight Onaga that had me more excited/ interest in more then this tbh
I think you save Onaga for the 3rd installment and really focus in on General Shao for the second one. Use Onaga as a post credit scene to set up the 3rd game.
Rain should have been alive as he is a God and extremely powerful. As for Sub-Zero that was Noob Saibot he should have been the victor against tanya, geras, lui kang and havoc. The final challenge should have been scorpion the final battle for Domination and that way it would have ended the story on a better note.
The whole no more tournaments in MK, I believe it’s because they don’t like it at all or don’t have many ideas to make them different. Yet KoF has demonstrated that they can be. Orochi Saga is classic KoF 3v3. NESTS Saga was 4v4 with assists.
Kof 03 and Eleven are real time switching between characters, while XIII was classic KoF again, which the Shun’ei Saga (XIV and XV) continued with.
I don’t know how long will NRS take a break from MK, but it better be soon cause this current MK ain’t it.

They had a tournament in the first story it just wasn't impactful more like an exhibition.
Id do the tournament for the Fate of the Lin Kuei, and have Shao Crash it.(Setting up the outworld conflict, and lin kuei conflict of position of power, and security thus validating the cyber protocol, and disliking liu kang, and outworld.)
I think the story went wrong when it came to making conflict, resolving it.
Noob Saibot should have Arrived beat Sektor, and that been the end of the story for potential part2)
Imo the way for them to end the story is to set up for deception.
Separate the Kamidoju from Havik, and trap him in the "void' making it a chaos realm

Titan Havik's existence should've been an eye opener for "our" Havik and have him help Titan Havik for a majority of the story until he suddenly betrays him and erases these evil timelines for no reason at all (because of chaos or something). It would establish that our Havik isn't good or evil and doesn't give a fuck about anything other than causing chaos, and to do that he had to help titan havik until the end and then do a 180 and help our timeline because it'd be super unexpected. He'd also still be a threat because he has no allegiance to anyone and in this scenario would be constantly flip flopping so nobody could predict what he's actually fighting for. Also would've been cool if smoke was noob in this timeline (if you know, you know). Obviously sektor and cyrax shouldn't have been gender seapped, should've been humans that got converted to cyborgs, all thag jazz. Sareena should've been more important, Shao Shang Tsung and Quan Chi should've done literally anything, Raiden should've been given a spotlight (being the new liu kang champion of earthrealm guy and all), Bi Han shouldn't have been a cartoony fuckin moron, Harumi should've been killed in the attack, Kuai Liang should've been shown training up Hanzo as his successor, man I could really go on for hours about what I'd like to see this current mk timeline look like. NRS truly is creatively bankrupt, they couldn't write a good story that makes sense to save their fuckin lives 😭

Whomever decided to put the multiverse in the FIRST GAME of a REBOOT was *not thinking clearly.* This expansion was doomed to fail before it even began. So glad I didn't bother buying a new console for this game, but it's sad to see the series fall this far.
Mk1 story in general feels like theres a lot of leaps there like reptile and baraka and stuff but it launches itself back with a cannon. The writers seem to love the cannons with "superhero comics" and "multiverse" written on them
Also tbh i hate this multiverse shit. Theres like a trillion universes, what makes this one and its people so special then? Mk deception with its things like the one being ending and actually having one universe to worry about made the stakes way too higher and scarier. Kronika and the titan/timeline shit was the beginning of the end and the best solution at this point imo is a hard reboot
preferably do a story with good flow; then chop it up budokai 3 style for each character for a chapter mode for those that want it.

And make it like blood sport or enter the dragon again with new stuff and actually kill off characters or spare them like mercy have more branch, storylines, that change the story or endings also more than one ending and don’t make another after that until it’s necessary also 1 on 1 and a better version of tag team mode not the cameo shit with tag team fatalities because there getting repetitive with their game play and need different modes for online and couch multiplayer.
Or I would've had Bi-han be the one who turned into noob, that way we still have the original sub-zero and still leaves Harumi to raise Hanzo into scorpion
I think Scorpion winning would have made little sense really. What would be the point of the Cyber Initiative if it couldn’t even handle base Scorpion? The armors needed to be seen as an upgrade or it’s useless to have Sektor and Cyrax at all.
They're ninjas so the armour isn't just going to be used for 1 on 1 combat, but covert missions and special operations. Defeating the top of both clans rendered them both obsolete and basically told me that if Sub Zero and Scorpion don't wear the armour then they're gonna lose to Sektor and Cyrax every time. I mean, he lost immediately and the armour hasn't even been perfected yet so what chance do they stand as the two poster child's of the game when the armour is?
What I would do instead is to stop making movie story modes, like I'm general I would stop doing that but MK1 would benefit a lot with it, let's face it the multiverse is here to stay, but multiverse is not really q problem in itself, especially when mk had from the very beginning the concept of realms that are pretty much almost a multiverse themselves, although more a db style multiverse where there is no alternate counterparts mostly, the problem is the same as MCU, multiverses have a really hard time working when you explore them as movies, they work better when they're explored when the multiverse is given enough or even plenty of time, like in two serieses like season 2 flash, where earth 2 had an entire season of exploration and made it overall one of the best flash season, arguably best superhero season, or in long animes like fairy tail, or longer games, that's why they should adopt sf6 story mode style, or more exactly go back to mk deception, so that we have linger story modes, that can span multiple more frequent updates, and have more exploration of the timelines, that honestly work almost the same as realms, havik timeline was basically chaos realm, minus screentime, same thing with many invasion seasons like reptile's zaterra timeline.

Why in the hell is there a Khaos Geras? It really makes no sense for there to be multiple Geras because he was specifically created by Kronika as a fixed point in time.
He cannot be destroyed or erased in any way without destroying the concept of time itself or something like that.
Unless, for some reason, Titan Liu Kang created his own Geras despite the fact he is literally a fixed point in time and I seriously doubt even Liu Kang could do that since Kronika's power are all about time where as Liu Kang's are fire and lightning.
In my mind Geras is and will always be a permanent fixture in the MKverse which is really interesting so there being only one Geras is far more interesting in both a narrative and lore aspect. MK1 Geras would have a much deeper connection to his universe and the people so he'd have all the reason to try and stop any other Titans from invading.
But this kind of insight into Geras would require actual good writing and an understanding on the MK setting. A damn shame because Geras is one of the few good things to come out of MK11 despite how useless he was in the story of MK11.
I'm sure they don't even remember Geras' origin as this point 😂

People said this is a new timeline to excuse the criticism of Sektor and Cyrax, but it's still the same bs story wise. Cyrax doesn't like what the lin kuei is doing and tries to leave, Sektor is loyal to lin kuei or in this case, bi-han.
