- My husband also had the privilege of dancing with all these wonderful dancers from a marquesan group. My family is marquesan so this tradition is very important to us. ENJOY!
I love watching traditions from other countries and cultures. It's so beautiful that they are willing to allow us into their world in such a special way. Thank you and Many blessings for the bride, groom, and their families.
Me too. UA-cam is mostly how I travel nowadays plus I LOVE learning about new-to-me cultures and other human groups like this. It's amazing how much we humans all have in common across the world despite our racial, cultural, and ethnic differences.

The groom is super handsome , bride is sweet and beautiful but all the male dancers are mind blowing. What a strong bodies they have! I love hakka dance . Lots of love to the new couple and all the maccho daaannccers.

@Augustin, I mean the Global movement and immigration is diluting traditions and cultures. I travel to other beautiful countries, it's sad when you go the markets, nothing is made in those countries. I remember those days long ago, where going to another country on vacation was wonderful.

I don't know much about the origin of this traditional dance but honestly speaking each time I watch it am thrilled and so much in love with it, if not mistaken its Samoan but am really so much in love with it and the way they danced was just super awesome❤❤❤❤
Nope not Samoan the name of the islands is in the title.
The dance is a pig/wild boar foraging the grunts and movement if you watch you can see it.

I love that the groom is doing all this in traditional European garb, ie, a suit. Also, have you ever thought about the ONE instrument ALL of Humanity in every single culture shares? Drums. Every culture on the Earth both past and present and probably future has drums as part of the human cultural heritage. We are, as far as I know and I'm a retired biologist, the only species that deliberately drums like this. Yes, some species of grouse and turkey "drum" as well as some species of fish but we are the only ones to drum like THIS. Drums pretty much define human culture. It's cool. :)

The movements literally a pig digging in the dirt.
Also the noises and grunting is too represent the pig sound.
