I think you should name the Lake, "Hot Blooded Pike Lake". You and Hunter should invite the Foreigner Gang for a Fishing Trip there. Now that would be a rockin time. I am always amazed by my Favorite Fisherman Hunter. He is really mastering the Fly fishing. So do you just bathe in insect repellent? I guess all those dead spruce don't help. Is that why there are so many fires catching? That was a sweet spot, what a load of fun to watch. The aerial shot over the Lake was beautiful. Kinda like Gilligan Island. Happy Saturday Alaska Boys!!!
😂 I love the new name of the lake! Yes, we pretty much have to have a thick layer of bug spray and long sleeves with a hat to no go crazy with all the skeeters. Most the fires are lightning strikes and then spreading because of dry conditions and the dead spruce to an degree.
I noticed the state birds flying around you when Hunter showcased the monster pike. And, they are noisy birds! Great combo of fishing and spear. Grand fun. Thank you for taking us along.
What an interesting video. Hunter really is a talented fisherman. It's so nice seeing a father spend so much time with his son and the obvious enjoyment they have in a shared hobby and in each other's company. Thanks for sharing
The flesh has a yellowish clear color to it and cooks white. It has a nice clean taste. I’m not sure it’s as good as cod, but it’s a good fish to eat. Are you with Mrs Pherson’s class in the UK?
@@AlaskaBoys Thank you Mark. Don’t know who Mrs Pherson’s is, but wish I was of school age. Sadly school is many years behind me! Im 62, but fished a lot when I was younger. Not in the exciting places you do! Your vlogs give me so much pleasure to watch. Thank you for sharing your life and adventures with me. I await another exciting instalment.😊 🥰
That was some great fishing footage. Really like the underwater spear fishing. Good job filming Hunter! I would hate all the bugs you have to deal with.
It was tricky, there was a truly massive one that didn’t quite make it on the camera while I was spearing and it tore off when I speared it. I thought I was looking at a king salmon it was that big.
@@AlaskaBoys I’m a Texan living in japan. I do a lot of deer hunting here and fish a little. I really want to visit Alaska someday. Can’t wait to see more videos from you guys.
Watching you spear fish in this is giving me anxiety. I'm from Florida and I'm just waiting to see an alligator pop up in the dark water in front of you 😄 I keep having to remind myself that you don't have gators.
Great video as always. I’ve only caught one pike back in July 2019, would luv to catch more and taste one lol. Might have to this summer wow that was a huge pike hunter caught. Lol. Where’s your vids???? I’m getting sad you stopped making them
@@AlaskaBoys he could go black bear hunting over by your cabin, or berry picking, check out the reddog mine? Go to the falls at the end of tutka? Snagging in the tutka lagoon, or china poot.. razors across the inlet or rockfish around Augustine... kachemak and cook inlet have a lot to offer! Glacier hike? I've been wanting to look for meteors at the base of the glaciers for years! I fell off my roof a few years ago and have really bad compartment syndrome in my right leg now... 14 surgeries but!! They saved it!! Anyway... I'm only good for a few hours hiking and have kinda limited flexibility in it, makes woods running a bugger.... and, I take pain pills all day, which really sucks, just not as bad as neuropathy pains!! I get to enjoy our great state vicariously through folks like you and Luke etc... I have a nice little off grid place in Happy Valley mp147 of the Stirling it's not done, but I like it.. lots of critters, 3 high tunnels and 6 kids 😀
We are so far north, that the sun doesn’t set till very late and come up very early. The opposite is true in the winter, not much light. Check out the video I made where I took my boys ice fishing in the winter: ua-cam.com/video/MSQAhHC6DSI/v-deo.html
There's the family channel if you're new here..its called This Alaska Life..great family!
Those mosquitos though... Great job guys! 👍👍💯
Little known fact: mosquitos are our state bird…
@@AlaskaBoys Haha I can totally believe that 🤣✌
Mark you are a great dad

That was awesome! Way to go Hunter! I couldn't handle all those skeeters.
Brilliant, Hunter really does live up to his name,
I noticed the state birds flying around you when Hunter showcased the monster pike. And, they are noisy birds!
Great combo of fishing and spear. Grand fun. Thank you for taking us along.
Very good video. I couldn’t take the bugs. You guys are tough.
Great job Hunter. You guys look like you’re having so much fun other than bugs of course
I love these videos. Just a dad and his son spending time together.
That's some fun fishing. I'm loving your rock and roll singing too.
We do the best we can. 😂
Good Morning family and happy Saturday here watching
Good job Hunter! ✋
I was singing with you Mark
🎶 hot blooded hot blooded 🎶 lol
🤘🤘
Great job Hunter!!! Nice to see Mark getting so excited. Love all your adventures.
Yes, I get pretty worked up when my kids start getting fish. 😆

Hammer handles lol we call them sneaky snake's 🤣
Where are you watching from? The little ones are a bit snake like.
Love catching N Pike, but never liked all those mosquitoes.
The two seem to go hand in hand many times… I guess since pike like slow stagnant water?
Good morning awesome trip with your son beautiful scenery😊❤️👍🏻
Only in Alaska baby!
For sure 🤙
I just love how you are there for your boys
Congratulations guys nice fishing.....great I totally enjoy watching y'all
I kept thinking those mosquitoes were swarming me I had to keep pausing the video 😂
They were brutal. I had flashbacks as I edited this… 😬
That was amazing
I've got thousands of welts from this video lol
But so enjoyable watching you fish great video thank you
Thanks Tammy.
Awesome fishing Mark and Hunter! Wow,the mosquitoes are bad! Plentiful Pike Lake!
The mosquitoes were definitely not for the faint of heart. I don’t know how you’d survive without bug spray.
You ought to bring machetes with you when going through the bush!! And thermacell portable mosquito repellers!!! Great pike fishing!! 👍👍
I love you guys and the other channel is great too, you could do a reality program and I would watch!!
Loved it! So exciting! Mark, what does pike taste like! The flesh looks like cod. Thank you for a great watch!😊🇬🇧

Those mosquitos are thick! Looks like a great time though.
They are brutal! But it’s part of the price of admission for the great pike spots around here.

sweet cool fishing

We swim in sweet oblivion to thinks like gators and snakes, thankfully. Just have to worry about an angry mama bear…
It looked like tiny birds flying around your heads.
They were so thick!
Alaska State bird! 🦟
Awesome!!!
Thanks Andrew. Hope your having fun wit your new plane.
Awesome stuff! 👌

Awesome video as always... did you see that deermeatfordinner is on the KP? been here for a few weeks, could be a great collaboration....
Thanks, we corresponded earlier in the summer, but it’s been hard to connect. What kind of video do you think we should make?

Thanks for the support. 🤙
Was that bear poop?
Yes, sure was.
Florida mosquitoes have nothing on Alaskan mosquitoes.
Lol
Are there snakes in Alaska
Thankfully NO! My wife hates snakes.
Man there is so many bugs
They are thick. I can’t imagine not having bug spray there.
What kind of bug dope do u use.
Ben’s 100% deet
How could it be daylight at midnight
