I love watching the Eagles get the scrapes! Thank you for including the cleaning and cooking of the fish. I love to watch the whole process not just the fishing! You have such a great personality for youtube! Keep up the great work Mark!
Loved the eagle footage. I saw one eagle here in Indiana this year locally and that is the my first sighting in probably at least 15 years within my county. Food looked great! Reminds me if the book 98 dollar tomato. Sometimes you can't put a price on the experience!
Eagle are so majestic. That is neat that they are making a comeback in your county. I’ve never heard of the book called 98 dollar tomato. That’s probably the price of the ones we’ve grown in our garden in the past. 😆
Awesome intro. Very entertaining video. The fishing was hopping! Nice explanation of filleting. Loved Everette's smiles in the airplane and the "unpaid" fan at the end.
Thanks for watching Sarah. Glad you can enjoy it while you are resting these past few days. Those smiles by Everett were spontaneous. He seemed to be overjoyed to sit in the front and to be able to see everything that was happening up front.
I love the intro, "I gotta get Everett, I gotta catch some Fish". What a Halibut Adventure!!! It was so precious to see Everett's face as you were flying. What a team!!! Your Neices are awesome. And it is so great they picked up the camera so they captured that huge Halibut catch. Gary is gonna flip out over the Eagle Buffet. In real time too. They are amazing creatures. The girls are so brave to guard the loot. They should get merit badges for that one. I think the Alaska Boys should start earning badges for firsts. Alaskan Boys Dinners are always the Lemon Bomb. It looked delicious. I bet for $300 at a Restaurant that would be the cost to feed that crew with what you served. Thanks Mark and Crew for taking us along. What a wonderful Alaskan Adventure.
I agree, my nieces rock. They do such a good job holding the camera. For the big fish, it was extra tricky since the boat was pitching up and down. I wish I had gotten some footage of the eagle trying to steal our catch as we unloaded it from the boat. He was being really brazen.
Gas prices are shocking, hope they soon go down. Love that you can hop in your plane to an island to fish for a day. I'm glad we get to go along. I feel so bad for the shy eagle, lol , he needs to learn, you snooze you lose. Great video.
Hopefully that Eagle is a little more assertive next time. I’ve seen the eagles get in some nasty fights over fish, so maybe that’s what he had on his mind?
What a fantastic video literally from sea to plate!! "Not a paid actor" 😆🤣. Absolutely loved this video and everything looked so good, always love when the family gets involved. Out did yourself on this one Mark top notch.👍
Another awesome video Mark!!! You have become my favorite channel on UA-cam because I learn so much from all your adventures. Watching the Eagles was superb. It’s not every day you get to see that many all at once and certainly not seeing them feeding in their natural habitat! Wow! The tacos and ceviche looks devine.
This time of year the eagles are very hungry. In August once the salmon are spewing, we can’t get them to even take a look at our fish carcasses. I’m glad you are learning from our trips. That’s good feedback to hear. What are some of the things you learned from this past video?
@@AlaskaBoys I learned how to filet a fish (very basic I know, but I’ve never actually been deep sea fishing or eaten any fish caught by someone I know. Also, that Halibut cheeks are good meat, and now I’ve learned Eagles aren’t interested in salmon lol. You’re so knowledgeable Mark. The things you and Lauren are teaching the boys are going to make them amazing husbands.
@@leighl3712 I miss typed above, I was trying to type “salmon spawning”. It’s that when there are millions of dead and dying salmon in the rivers, the salmon are so stuffed with easy food, they don’t care about our fish scraps.
@@AlaskaBoys ah, that makes perfect sense. See, you’re still teaching. I love it. Alaska definitely needs to be added to my bucket list. Thank you for always making it interesting.
Mark, it is a pleasure to see you lovingly teach your boys outdoor skills. You have our incredible at cleaning your catch., no waste at all. You can tell you have been doing this for years. Thank you for sharing your love of nature and survival skills. May God bless you & your family. Sending best wishes from Minnesota. 🐟🐠🐡🐙🦑🦐🦞🦀
Wow what a great video! I just check halibut at our fish market is $24 lb. today! So cool to be able to catch your own!!! Very kind to share with others as well. Always beautiful to see how family not only sitting down to a meal together but also each taking a part in making the meal. God bless.
WOW! $24 a lb. I don’t think I’d eat much fish if I didn’t catch it myself. Honestly I wouldn’t even know how to purchase fish at the store and have never done that, ever. One of the things I really love about the first fish harvests in the spring is to share it with our family and friends. It’s nice to be able to do that when we can and fresh is so much better than out of the freezer.
@@AlaskaBoys LOL I was thinking what a great bargain for your own fresh caught fishing trip. Love y'all truly appreciate what nature provides in your environment. God bless.
Sherri, thank you so much for commenting being our fan, all the way from Huntington WV! I’ve never been to WV, most my travels are on the west coast. Many people see Alaska for the first time a cruise. It’s a great way for many people to get a taste of the state.
Mark, how cool to get that wonderful footage of the eagles eating the fish! What a great way to make memories and spend quality time with Everett. Thanks for taking us along!
Another great video Mark!! Oh my goodness. All the food that you prepared looks delicious. Even though it cost around $300.00 you all had a wonderful time & you can’t put a price on the memories you have made 😊

Mark, I'll do the 3 C's to get some fish tacos! Catch, Clean and Cook it! I use to frequent this restaurant just to get fish tacos. Then they removed it from the menu! Guess no one likes it but me! Blah! I'm in Middle TN.
Sounds like a good trade. I’d never heard it referred to as the three “C’s” Bummer that they took fish tacos off the menu. Maybe you just need to go out and make your own like we did?? 🤔

Amazing video and delicious 😋 and hey Lauren I wanted to tell you that after my surgery I went home kinda out of it and my sister told lizzy my daughter to call 911 and I remember that but a week later I woke up not remembering much of anything else but 3days ago and I hope am out of icu and soon in a day or two I'll be. Going home
Hi Mark, I remember when my dad took me fishing on the Rivers Isla and Tay and when he caught a salmon he would bash it on the head so it wouldn't 'drown' in the fresh air. Do you ever do this or do you just wait for the fish to die. I'm not criticising, just curious. Eagles are amazing birds, love watching them 🦅🦅🦅
We used to beat the halibut in the head with a little mini bat that had the words “Willie’s Wacker” inscribed on it. It was a gift given to my father a long time ago. About 5 years ago we realized that by cutting the gills after they are in the fish box, the fish quickly bleed out (and die) and the end result is that the fillets have almost no blood in them when we process the fish. The fish seems to taste better and preserve longer when we bleed them out, so this is what we do now.
Outdoor boys sent me.
Awesome! So glad to have you along.
I had to share this video, it was great from start to finish, Mark!
Thanks for sharing it!
Thanks for brining my baby home safe! Those fresh halibut tacos and ceviche really were the best!
Everett is growing up before our eyes. He is so determined and strong.
Yes he is! Great little adventure buddy.
I thought you meant Mark lol
Watching the eagles having a feeding frenzy is awesome. Way better than watching seagulls.
Seagullls and Eagles are not even in the same league! I agree, much cooler to see these large eagles up close.
@@AlaskaBoys I've seen them in Washington State, but not like what you showed. I agree with you there.
Love that everybody got involved in cooking the fish!! I'd say it was well worth the 300.00!!! Great video!!
