"Don't be sorry, father. Be better!" Love how he uses a line from the first game.
And how kratos smiles at that
Kratos:"YOU USE MY LINES AGAINST ME?
Takes out the Belt of Chaos*
It’s from the 4th game
It’s a subtle way to show Artreus learned from his fathers lesson. Kratos’ smile says it all. That his lessons stick and Artreus has grown in strength and wisdom.
That apology took every once of Kratos' willpower.
And seeing him smile at his words thrown back at him couldn't make me prouder of him.
*haunting ghost voice* Calliope...
If this happened in the Greek era, this would have warranted a QTE like with Calliope in the Elysium fields.
These emotional moments between Kratos & Atreus are by far my favorite moments of the game.
Ironic that a series that was built on vicious, flashy gameplay ended up having its best moments when the main character slows down and says "I'm sorry". Amazing.
Fr Bro our combos were literally vicious sadistic e.t.c😂
If there was ever a character who needed redemption and rebirth, it was Kratos, and they nailed it. ( ͡ ͜ ʖ ͡ )
This scene meant so much to me. As someone who has a bit of a rocky relationship with their own dad, hearing Kratos say he was sorry was the apology I never knew I needed. I love my dad, and I know he isn't perfect (far from it actually), and he and I clash way too frequently these days. But I only get one dad. I know he's trying his best. I'll forever be grateful to Santa Monica for playing a key role my own personal growth and healing.
The venomous contention infects our civic dialogue and too many personal relationships today. Civility and decency seem to have disappeared during this era of polarization and passionate disagreements. Try building, lifting, encouraging, persuading, and inspiring others, no matter how difficult the situation is. Try being a peacemaker istead of another person infected by contention and anger. :)
Same, helped me alot not having any positive role models growing up
Kratos goes from leaving Poseidon’s Princess and crushing her in a machine to apologizing to his son, that’s some major character change and good writing 💀
LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
My mind always goes back to that moment, I feel like it's possibly the worst thing he has done.
It’s crazy to see how insightful and self reflective he’s become. Old Kratos never thought about his actions like this before, and certainly never apologized for them.
damnnn i didnt even catch that
The writing is fucking amazing
I fell in love with this game
Just 100%’d the game got the plat too
Ye but I'm not fan of gameplay with lots of puzzle i don't feel rewarding i love the story of all god of war although I enjoy gow 1,2,3,4 and psp titles never played asxention
That's what really sets Kratos apart as a genuinely good father figure. Despite all of his shortcomings and flaws, he holds himself accountable for his mistakes once he realizes that he's made them.
Thats something a lot of parents lack. The ability to admit to their kids “i’m sorry I made a mistake”
2:50 Love that smile from Kratos
At that moment, he went from saying "Boy!" to smiling with a tone of "That's my boy"
Kratos isn’t lying be no means. Young Atreus is a very formidable warrior, very much worth of both his namesakes. His father and mother did a good job with this kid.
Kratos never lies. Even his reasoning for naming his son Atreus speaks a lot about his character. Atreus of Sparta was one of the few genuinely happy Spartans. Despite all he suffered and endured, Kratos' son was one of the biggest sources of joy alongside Faye. The irony is that while Atreus thought he would never be good enough for his dad, in reality, based on the dream scenes, Kratos' ultimate insecurity was that he would never be good enough for his son. It was just two broken people who wanted each other's approval. And that's just beautiful.
Seeing kratos like this made me cry tears of happiness
love how he firmly holds Faye’s axe so that her spirit can give him strength to apologize to their son.
1:04 is what makes Kratos a great father. If another parent heard their kid say that the conversation would end and the same mistakes would be made but Kratos corrects his son and admits to his own mistakes. He doesn’t want to be proven right he wants to do what is right for his son.
2:48 kratos smiles because atreus quoted something he said in the 2018 god of war game.
"that's my boy"
It's the little things in this game man. Seeing Kratos furrow his brow when Atreus said what he did at 2:10
It's just so damn human, even if I'm playing as litteral gods lol
Damn it. .... who's cutting onions !! That was heart felt stuff there. . ... is there a waterfall!!!?? Damn it!! ...
This is my favorite moment in the whole game. It's such a quiet, emotionally weighty, and human moment.
This genuinely might be the best scene I've ever seen in a game
This is literally my most heart-touching moment from a video game.
I loved this scene.
Yes this is an emotional moment, did cry when playing
but can we talk about Odin's raven at the background 2:03 lmao
Yeah I noticed it during this scene too and then I spent the next 10 minutes trying to kill the damn thing 😂
I love it when men like Kratos get emotionally vulnerable, it’s a beautiful quality to see. 🥺
I was so close to not crying throughout the whole thing and then they HAD to sneak in 3:01 It just hits so hard seeing Kratos like this. Best Video game dad of 2022, he was able to overcome so much and guide Atreus as a mentor and father.
I just love the way kratos says sorry I mean What was the last time kratos ever said sorry he would just go and kill gods THis also makes me sad because the kratos we knew is getting old I mean
I love How kratos straingthens up and then says sorry he put his pride and arrogence away for his only son it just makes me cry
You get that Last of Us two? That’s how you make a sequel!
Part Two is not a sequel, it is the second half of a long story, are different concepts
The Kratos from the original trilogy has come so far and grown so much with Atreus in his life
Best moment in the game
we all make mistakes and nobody is perfect. that's what we do we learn from our mistakes and we do our best to never make a mistake again. that's the best way to stay alive
Love how atreus simles every time someone compliments him
This is good parenting. Being able to admit when you made a mistake to your kid, shows them you aren’t perfect, but you are willing to own up to it. Parents lead by example.
God I LOVE this game
mother F made me cry!
I'm not crying (I'm crying)
Does anyone know the music to this towards the end. it was in the last game when kratos gives him the knife he made for atreus.
WHAT A MOMENT I LOOOOOVE IT
I'm totally not sobbing over this ahaha no way 🥲
this scene break me
I know I’m 8 days late here, I noticed that bird flying around sir.. I how you went back there and killed it
you have access to everything in the post game
@@GamingWithAbyss yes that’s true it was a poor attempt at sarcasm 🙃
@@WMH435 yeah lack of sleep so everything's flying over my head like that bird lol
I felt like this was the turning point for Kratos.
I don’t know if anyone can relate but while I was playing when I noticed Orin’s crow in the background I legit said “ this is a touching moment between me and my son…. And if you share this I will end you and all your little crows damnit.” I then proceeded to immediately kill the crow 😂
Where?
i think this just _barely_ tops the scene where kratos gives atreus a new knife in the 2018 game
2:19 - The goddamn Raven is flying afar, I want to eliminate it right away...
Kratos is over 2500 years old he should be looking the same when atreus gets old
GG GOD TIER
2018:
Atreus/boy:"I'm sorry Father"
Kratos : "Do not be sorry , be Better."
2022:
The best lesson Kratos ever learned was that his wives...are always right
Stop playing he used same quote from last game n also yall seen kratos smirk come on great scene 👏🏼
I'm hoping you do not show us the spoiler stuff sorry and tnx mate
I'm not doing the ending anytime soon I like to wait plus I don't put a spoiler thumbnail when I do it
@@GamingWithAbyss tnx man I see a video from a yt channel that spoiled the shit of the game for me and I'm pissed
@BRIAN KRAMER I'm not dumb dude I did not watched it was in he's fucking thumbnail that spoiled something for me
Yeah that algorithm is gonna sneak up on you. I got spoiled too but it’s my fault for being here 😅
what is a men? but once a boy.
Who remembers when GOW was all rage!
much better now
When Atreus hit him with, "Don't be sorry, father. Be better." You can see Kratos' immense pride in his son with that smile he gave. He realized that his son not only grew up but became the man he wished he could've been. Capable, strong, wise, and forgiving. Kratos has come a long way since his days of murdering gods without thinking of the consequences. This game resonated with me on a level I didn't think was possible.
