All of my DIY carbon, aluminium or polycarbonate parts are cut with a jigsaw and drilled with a hand drill.
Most of my materials like Carbon Fibre, Aluminium, polycarbonate and hardware like screws, bolts and nuts are purchased from Ebay Australia but most of what I use is easily found just by Google searching the material or hardware you require.

i have those wheels on hbx 16889a pro. They give more topspeed and are good for tarmac and spins but no traction on dirt at all...
Yes they may give a little more speed, they aren't much bigger than the 16889 wheels but probably balloon more.
You are right, they don't grip the best on dirt but this style(small or shallow tread) is actually my preferred tyre for dirt and grass for most size cars as they can slide rather than gripping and rolling the car, tuning your diffs will help control and stability aswell👌

Oh as soon as I saw the legs and belly covered in mud my first thought was, oh wow that's a messy night cleaning for the owner😆

@@rccrazy that is true also. Another little bit of information. Most golden retriever owners, at least the ones that I'm aware of, are used to and fully except all the extra bathing and care.

They are excellent wheels in my opinion, providing to be strong aswell, been using the same set on many cars for maybe 2 years now, lighter cars so that helps.

I actually took out the metal spur gear and replaced it with the stock plastic spur gear. You'll need to use a 19t, .07 mod pinion to make up the difference, but it's faster, quieter and just better IMHO.
If you mean the original 144 gears then yeah that is definitely an option, I actually have a video I need to edit exactly about that except using the 27t mod0.7 pinion.
Very easy mod on the stock motor mount if done correctly the first time👌
Not sure about the plastic spur for bashing though, the 144 steel spurs are much better.
Great video! I recently bought this wltoys as my second RC and quite surprised that the gear noise is really loud. My first RC is MJX hyper go and though they both use metal gears but wltoys 124008 is definitely louder. I tried to grease all the gears but no big difference there lol

Yes the wltoys diffs and gears are a little noisy, shimming the diffs installing some good thick diff oil aswell as a little grease on the outer diff gears(crown and pinions) should make it a little quieter but I think it's simply weak metal slowly grinding itself away.
All the diff gears and the newer wltoys spurs are extremely weak metal sadly😕

7:13, shouldn't that mean shortening your shocks will fix that? you want to lower it so the ride height is the same as the original wheels

No longer shocks have a longer shaft therefore it can travel farther to compensate for the bigger wheels.
If you were building a speed car then yes you want to lower the car but for bashers with bigger wheels you need more shock travel so the chassis can actually reach the ground without the shock end smashing the bottom shock cap.
@@rccrazy ah yeah that makes sense. either way solves that problem of bottoming out the shock. (EDIT - actually his hack won't, because the length of the shock body isn't shortened. either the shock tower needs raising or the hacksaw needs to come out for the shock body.
EDIT EDIT, i think that means your solution also wouldn't avoid shock bottom out)
ideally you need a set of shocks for each size wheelset you're gonna run, but ideally ideally you'd want 2 sets of shocks for each wheelset - one for speed running and one for jumping :)
