Well, to me the battery is certainly the deal breaker, not because its not able to charge using hobby chargers without any mods, its because i can't use all of my 3s batteries i had from my planes and quadcopters.. Hope they can come out with a mod for battery strips
I charge the included battery with my standard battery charger the charge lead cost £1.20 posted and I bought an xt60 to deans connector for £1.56 and use 3s 2200mah CNHL packs with this connector the cable across the top holds it in without any additional straps ! I did greese the diffs on mine
Hello, my 124008 I have only used it 4 times and a rear dogbone wore out the mouth of a cup of a tire, I have not jumped, nor collided with anything... I've talked about this in other groups and some people have had the same thing, apparently the dogbone comes a little short and doesn't go all the way inside like it should. You've noticed this flaw ?.. What could I do to avoid this? Some say that by putting a round inside the cup of the differential... I'd like to hear your point of view. Thank you.
@@eduardomalcom2228 I haven't had them pop out on me. I never really took note. Maybe they are, I just didn't dig that deep into the car. I haven't encountered a reason yet.
I'm thinking of buying this as my first brushless RC, what is the battery life of this thing? From what I've seen, most brushless cars of this scale have battery lifes of less than 15 minutes which is a huge downside for me. Are there any batteries that would improve battery life without draining my card?
The battery life is good, constant driving is 15 or so minutes, bashing about had lasted up to 30 for me also. But you can use any 3s lipo you want that has a Deans connector so you can use higher capacity batteries also.
As long as it fits, but that's a big battery to cram into that chassis unless it's like a shorty pack, but then the battery strap would fit. But in cases like that, I just mounting tape batteries in if stock straps don't fit
Just got one of these and a motorcycle ran it over just bent the shell and kept going!!! No damage to the chassis or suspension 😮😮… the only issue with the car so far is I’m getting a slight delay
Running mine the other day with a fully charged 3s; motor temps hit over 230F. Make sure you install a fan on the little motor. Other than that, this thing rocks!
we are running 3S lipos 25c 3300mah and the motors are both fine, have you greased the diffs, wltoys have repoutation of having no grease in the diffs, id bet they are both dry or have little to no grease on the actual gear cogs.@@Rek_Rc
Great value. I'm mostly impress with the thick dog bones. I'm not really a heavy basher but every car I own that has dog bones get bent on every run. Both my Sunfires are down waiting on dogbones. Out of stock, DR10 drive shafts are not cheap and they are bent as well. I love how the body tucks in to keep dirt out. You did such a good job on this video I thin WL-Toys should send you a car to review. I imagine you will probably come up with a solution for the battery but other than that what a great car.
I've just bought it's Brushed Brother in an Ali express sale for £60 which I'm over the moon about.. the black and red one. I've also ordered a brushless sensored motor, a rocket RC esc sensored and a dumborc receiver.. looking forward to putting it all together 😂
Regarding diffs, just spin your wheels, if they spin freely then it more than likely has no grease. I got mine intending to upgrade the motor, and i still will i reckon as i want it at least as fast as the 124017. After taking it out today, i see the speed is perfectly fine and i can control it in the wet. I have a 124016 and on 3s that thing is INSANE, its currently perma raining where i am and its just not able to get traction in the wet, its barely able to on 2s too. But loving these cheap RC cars, i can take them out much easier and quicker than my xmaxx. But yeah, i think i still want it to be faster, ill get an esc that allows me to throttle the speed if required. Ive subbed, you seem a cool dude.
I really appreciate the kind comment, and welcome aboard! I really had a great time with the 124008, I would have liked more speed as well, but once I realized how well it drives I didn't mind that it was a bit slower. But a bit more speed is always welcome.

For how cheap they are, they are well with every penny, great value RC, and if you don't take it to the SKATEPARK, it shouldn't break much unless some random big crash or something extreme happens. But it even did really well in the skatepark video also.

are those the same engine ans esc of the 124017? i want to buy it but it comes with 2s and i want to get a 3s for it but since this comes with it im sure its able to support 3s while im not with 124017
@@Rek_Rc ok ill buy the 124008 and later swap from 124017 and metal parts even if it would be cheaper tu buy 124017 and put a new receiver so no cog and will be able to use a lot of batteries while i cant with the 08 so i still dont know but ill prob go with 08

@@850RC pmsl have a laugh fella. The body shell is a massive rip off of the ARRMA typhon 3s they have just moved the side vent stickers back a bit. Look at the rear louver sections too. How the hell can you say it is nothing like it lol

Make sure you order some extra center drive shafts. They don't last long and you will have to disassemble the entire car to replace it.

Good information. Someone out there will find it useful. My diffs were actually greased, but with WLtoys it's always a good idea to check.

Yes they do heat up. I think I forgot to mention that.

I didn't glue the screws. I just gorilla glued the plastic steering hinge bracket back in place. It's held up ever since.

Only 1300 mAh 25c it won't last 40 mins of constant movement especially at full throttle, but driving how I was in the video it lasts a long time.

They've been holding up well for me. I haven't even blown a diff yet, which is a common wltoys weakness.

No, it's a 45a ESC but still 3s able, . You can swap the motor and ESC to be the same as the 124017 and it would be an absolute rocket then I'm sure.
