I’ve just built my built my pond almost built now. And I dug a sump pumped. Drying out bucket😁👍 build them strong snd it will last 😉regards Bob the builder
Great video as always really look forward to watching them, I'm wanting to build a new pond this year or at least make a good start on it with a similar set up so always good to hear the way people do it and love the knowledge shared on you're video's.
This is what I like the guy wants to spend more money putting a tempest on and you tell him it's not needed many people would just think of the money and sell it him anyway
@@TimWaddington simple, if the weight of the concrete is less than the volume of pond it can float on groundwater. Good design takes this into account. The easiest way is to make the ‘base’ extend beyond the walls by say 200-300mm and use the earth backfill to ensure the pond cannot ‘float’. I admit it’s not common but good design should consider there’s eventualities…
Is it just as simple as digging the hole deeper than the pond base for the sump pump? I am having the same issue at the moment with the water table. The clay and soil is now so soft to stand it’s worrying me about the reinforced concrete base going down.
Tim, I am where I am with my current build I’ve got to go down liner route. Do you know, can more complex shapes like “kidney” be made in a box welded fashion for a better fit? And also is there a preference to return from Bottom drain or skimmer line through the UV?
I have had this problem over the winter with the filter pit filling with water, It actually filled a couple of feet at 1 point, and blew the heater.... My questions is..... I have 1 of the bilge pumps that have the float switch on it, I plan on digging a hole in the filter pit, deeper than the pit and putting the pump in like in this video. But because of how the float switch works it would need to be covered by 2 ft of water before the float switch gets activated, and sometimes when lifted up slowly the float switch might not come on at all. Is there a better way to do this ???? what type of pump is best for this , Cheers Tim
Hi mate you need the clarke psv5a pump from machine mart it got a internal float switch its for confined space hope this helps im using one in my pond on this vid
Looking forward to the next one. Cheers Tim, stay safe & well.
I would love a video showing someone putting the angled corners in

Good detail in showing all angles around the pond. It have good visuals for viewers to get ideas on future builds. ⛩
another great vid tim and another great pond in the making ! keep them coming ,
another great video tim will look smart when finished
Good video Tim Nice size pond
I watch all your vids anyway there great and inspire and inform

Cracking looking pond build Tim

Loved the video like always! Great job on the pond!
Nice construction!! Like!
Cracking pond 👍👍👍
Is there any videos of him building it?

Any update to this pond?
There will be soon 👍
How much would something like this be to fiberglass please
cracking pond very similar to mine
What provisions did you make in your design to stop the pond floating of it is ever emptied?
Not sure what you mean? How can it float?

How much water does a bead hold? Can’t find any info on that
Hey Tim love your videos, will you ever do one on RDF’s ? Thanks
There’s quite a few videos with them on 👍🏻
can l ask why you lot don't cast ponds with concrete that would be water proof in place of using blocks
Hello Tim what’s your opinion on Pre- filters ? I never see or hear you mention them???
Never really have a need to use them to be honest.

Yes dig it deeper and put a pump in. It’s obviously harder now because of the rain but it will work. The bigger the hole the better

You would have to contact a liner company, we just don’t use them. I’d put the UV on the main filter
Cracking pond Tim
On a pump fed nexus 320
What would you recommend for flow per hour?
Thanks
9000/10000L per hour

Thanks mate
Thank god I got something right lol hahaha

Not really mate. You could put a pump on the waste line and just turn on when cleaning?

@@colinsharp1314 Thanks colin, that sounds more like it, 1 thats internal. i'll take a look, thanks
@@colinsharp1314 Hi Colin, was it this 1 you got www.machinemart.co.uk/p/clarke-psv5a-pump-with-integrated-float-switch/ £83 version ?
Yes mate that's it does the trick for me
Any way to get a copy of the plans for this build?
Plans??? What are they! The owner just dug a hole really in the space available.
@@TimWaddington Fair point, I guess that's why I'm on my 4th or 5th renovation of my my pond!
