I agree, client should be made aware koi grow very large and should have space to turn around effortlesly. Nothing wrong with the shape of the pond though.
All depends on the size of the pond. Where the pond is located. Smaller ponds where you use fibres in the base you can just use blocks on the side. Every pond is different. None of my ponds at the shop have rebar and the biggest is 4000 gallons.
@@Littlenickskoipond as long as there is a retaining wall you should be okay, but again if the builder says he’s happier to use rebar then he will know.
Hi Tim how will do the screed on the floor ? Just wondering if you will do a normal screed mix or do it with the Kingspan. This pond will look great. Look forward to seeing it finished
Hard to get the flow right, would it be better skimmer inthe middle and the returns pushing from both ends,as it is now you have a return at the side of the skimmer, iam sure you are right tho.
What is the maximum size glass panels that are recommended - I suppose the position is crucial - more weight pressure on bottom panels but that would be off set by an enclosed block surround rather than an open top....
There really is very little information about it. If we are involved we always try and use the stainless solid frames for extra strength . We are doing a pond now with 2 x 2m windows.
I love seeing the variety of ponds
Nice to see someone going off at a tangent to create something different. Top job.
Looks good I'll be looking forward to see it finished
Really like this. As a landscaper it’s good to see different ideas. Where’s part 2?
Interested to see this all finished 👍
Fibreglassing on Friday so won’t be long
love to see this one again once finished 👍
Refreshing to see someone not following the herd with a rectangle pond and pergola on top 🤣
Bet he goes bigger within 2 years lol 😂
That will look great especially with the bridge , you must get through some EA gear over a season ! Love the video's Tim!
Just a few bits 🤣
Another pond another Rolex eh Tim?
A really nice design, strange why its not wider though! 🤔
The client had his own vision of what he wanted.

Quick question do u just use the blocks or do u reinforce the blocks

Thanks buddy planning on a 6m x2x 1.8m n builder i was talkin to said use rebar but all vids iam watching just seem to use blocks

Just a screed mix 👍🏻
@@TimWaddington thanks tim. I will use that info.
Looks good but won't the return by the skimmer hinder it by pushing the water away from the skimmer
No it won’t be a big flow from that return. I’m hoping that everything will gather next to the skimmer
Hard to get the flow right, would it be better skimmer inthe middle and the returns pushing from both ends,as it is now you have a return at the side of the skimmer, iam sure you are right tho.
The skimmer return will be very slow only to take surface debris. It won’t interfere
@@TimWaddington just thought i would ask, your experiance will know how to do it,cheers tim

@@TimWaddington ok thanx.
Why don't many people put kingspan on the floor?
Some do. We just don’t recommend it. I’ve seen it compact with the weight of the water and can crack the fibreglass.
