Because of its size [not too big or little], its strong engine, and its potential, I'd love to see this dozer in a full nut/bolt restoration series. There's an excellent chance that 1] you can either fix, make, or adapt via new tech anything that's broken or no longer available. 2] upon completion it'd still be there for you for another 65 yrs [if the Lord tarries]. 3] during that time you could turn it into a one-of-a-kind JD Crawler with its optional backhoe and "GearMatic" winch. I'd love to watch a series like that no matter how how long the videos were or how many episodes it took. *God bless* guys.
I had an opportunity to buy a really clean one of these. It had mid level resto job on it. It was clean, and in good working order. The guy also had an industrial version of the John Deere 2030, with a front loader, roll over canopy, etc... I ended up buying the 2030, which I used to do some clearing work when we bought our land. And I then traded that for a fully restored 1946 2N with a half dozen implements that came with it. Its a great tractor and I get a ton of stuff done with it. But there are many days that I wish I had that crawler.
Wish I could find a toy like that as I have tons of firewood to get out... just cause I'm seventy three doesn't mean I shouldn't do something... loving this one!!
Thanks! I’m excited to get the rest of it sorted out so I can really use it. My entire life the blade has somewhat worked and at best it had one side of the steering clutch/brakes working.
You can try polarizing the regulator to get it charging. Also if you have the wire reversed on the gauge it will show it discharging when it is actually charging.
I have a 1936 Cle track that's been sitting in my shed for years and specifically meant for skidding logs keep saying someday I'm going to get going again
i have my wifes grand fathers 40 also a 420 dozer with a gearjunk winch and a 440 loader started my logging with a 420 many years ago they are so lite they go on top of the snow if they wont go forward just back up in snow
@@dieseJL oh gotcha thank you for the response enjoy watching your videos...have a neighbor down my road still trying to convince them to sell me a HD6 with winch for logging my property. Shoe.

Who is ready to see the steering clutches get fixed so we can USE this thing!?
Me for sure.
Me for sure.
me too...great you saved this thing
Yes for sure. I have one I bought and before installing rebuilt motor I was planning on checking steering clutches.
I can t wait

Yeah they’re too cool to get rid of!

Yeah! I see quite a few for sale.... great for skidding logs!!
I have one of these in my barn. Had it running and lost spark completely. Thank you for walking through the wire assembly!
Glad it could help!
It amazes me how much it will push.
Great job on the starter and generator.

Love the sound of those 2 cylinder JDs…cool machine!
Looking forward to this project , you are a lucky guy getting this jem to work on
Thanks for the support!!

Yeah I think I just had the gauge wired backwards
Those old parties were really good I know I have one
I own a 1958 Jet toter That had a 352 ford engine. I would have to see more of that machine you asked about to be sure..
Thank you for sharing, another great project, i learn a lot 👍👍👍👍
Just found your channel. Love these old equipment resurrecting videos. Subscribed and waiting for the next video.
Thanks!!
We call those adjustable wrenches or Cresent wrench you were using a ( Saskatchewan socket set ) good for any tractor 🇨🇦
Love the channel. I just discovered you. Hate the wasps. The great thing about Chile is we have no Wasps like Yall have in the former USA. Jim
When he threw down the jumper cables @8:43, thought I was gonna see fireworks
Interesting machine, good to see progress!
Sounds like my old 59 jd430. 2 cylinder "Johnny pop" sound. I miss that distinct sound.
It’s the best part about them!
I've got a 1958 420 these things are more fun than a four wheeler
I know they are!!
I have a 1936 Cle track that's been sitting in my shed for years and specifically meant for skidding logs keep saying someday I'm going to get going again
Now is the time!!
I have had a 40 C for decades. The worst part of the machine is the brake and steering clutch adjusters Other than that they are great.
If you've been watching it was not charging it was going over to the discharge side just FYI
This reminds me of hamiltonville farm on UA-cam
I used to use my angle drinder without the guard on it. Then one day I got to look at the bone in one of my index fingers. Now I use the guard.
Seems like it'd be a real chore to drive, based on the location of the gear selector.
Looks like it will be a fun machine.
You have to use clutch’s with foot brakes to steer it .
You need a Grass trimmer bad in there.

What a collection!
Love it want to see more 😅
That was original painted in John Deere agricultural green.
I think it will look better in the original Green.
Lol....I work for UNM Physical Plant....have the same shirts.
Just curious....what part of the country are you at Midwest? Looks like a great project...Shoe in Oregon.
Michigan!

❤️
If you brought the nose cone to me and asked me to weld it .I would have gave it back to you brazed and 100 percent working order
Why didn’t he oil the drill and the tap
The 2 cylinder John Deere is nothing but torque
And amazing sound!!
you need to energize the regulator dont remember what terminals to touch
just push the points to gether with engine running to polerize genny and cutout
Flash the power wire to the Field side of the generator to polarize the unit
Get a seat!
My back hurts just from looking at it!
Fyi it's not a bull dozer its a crawler tractor on tracks
Looks like a bulldozer to me
Halleluja
👍💥💯
Synchros?lol do you have a lot to learn.
😰😭RAmA
Very nice 👍
