I think you should embrace it and not beat yourself down. Each lifestyle bgas its own pros and cons - hot mess can be highly adaptable and flexible but not super organized. Super organized looks put together but in over organising can miss the big picture :) (ie the ID thing)

tbh I'm like ashley and I have to make lists and quadriple check it but I'm the type of person that would do that lol
You say that, but I am also the checklist type who pre-packs and double-checks everything and there was one time I literally forgot my tickets to the event I was going to.
"Cash, yes, phone, yes, bandaids, yes, tickets, yes" only they somehow didn't make it from where I had things laid out to check them off and pack them into my actual bag.
I'll chime in and say I'm also one of those people who makes a list and will forget my ID. Or get halfway to a concert and realize I forgot the tickets. I get so preoccupied with being organized that I forget something obvious.

I'm mostly Ella but I already have a checklist that I never need but still keep and I keep on adding things I randomly think I might need while imagining scenarios during those two days (being a writer..) then the morning before I end up packing in like half an hour and making myself a nice cup of coffee to take with and a book to read on the way. (other than the five other books in my bag)
I never forget anything but then I like see two bestfriends playing cards or Uno and I think, "Why didn't I think of that?" 😂😂

+InfamousRenegade it's the only time when you can do anything without stress. The best thing to do is to kill stress and anxiety at all times during vacations. Cleaning and organizing helps make you really calm. Not for everyone busy most people enjoy it.

So, mom is super organized, she really is! She barely forgets an important date, you know, stuff like that so, this year, we were going to travel and we all needed our passports and, exactly the day we were gonna leave, mom checked her passport and it was expired! Gosh, poor her, how she cried... Good thing is she stayed just some days, she got her passport and she went to us after that :p
