Boy, you can tell Don is really into plumerias from the enthusiasm he has, as well as his apparent knowledge. The more I learn about them and attempt to grow them, so am I! I ordered 4 approx. 12'' cuttings, all different "flavors" from a vendor off of Etsy, the online marketplace. I have them in clear "SoLo" size cups with holes drilled to insert water as they get dry. It's March 27, 2022 here in Lake Charles, LA, where we enjoy a true subtropical climate. It will occasionally freeze only lightly (30-32 degrees) probably less than 4 or 5 times a year and it will freakishly snow about once every 12-15 years. Almost identical climate to New Orleans and Houston. During these cold "snaps", I'll just scoot my plants inside to a nearby heated room by my patio until all forecast frost is gone. I can't wait until they start growing, which will be probably another month to six weeks. I've had them in the cups less than a week and give them 1/2 day full sun the way the patio is oriented. Additionally, they're on a flat black piece of thin cardboard that's about 2'x3', so they're not crowded. Additionally, I bought a plumeria growers "bible" entitled "The Handbook on Plumeria Culture" which contains about all anyone ever needs to know about these plants. Thanks for the video and wish me luck with them! 😁
