I just transplanted my plumeria and it looks very healthy. But, the main stem that goes into the ground is green like a vine and not bark color like yours. Is that because it’s a cutting? Too much water maybe?
I live in Michigan and have a plumeria that I purchased in Hawaii as a stem. it is growing well but the stem is slightly soft at the base. I am worried. The soil is mixed as suggested and well drained. I water it 1x mth until it comes out the sides. I placed a grow light on it during the day. The leaves are strong. Is it my understanding that I need to stop all of that through the winter and just let it sit in a dimmed area until spring? Let it dry out? Please advise I really don't want to lose it.
Thanks for the tips! Being in the Chicagoland area I keep mine in pots on the patio and bring them in at the first sign of cold weather. I didn't know that you can let them grow dormant, I use extreme high intensity lighting to keep them going all winter and they started flowering about a month ago under 10 hours a day of light. I use 20-20-20 in a weak solution twice a month and they seem to like it. I do have a few ants going up and down them but I thought they were eating the aphids so I left things alone now I have to run out and get some Neem oil. thanks again.
great video, and a quick plumeria question, so we live in bakersfield, and ive had plumerias for 6 years or so now and had ok luck with them here, and i bouhgt a 5 gallon white with yellow in middle type at villa hermosa a nice little nusery in torrance, and this was 6 weeks ago, and we have it under a patio where it gets an hour of sun a day, and its hot in summer here, and its doing fine, with lots of new leaves on the 6 stocks, and its blooming, but ive had a few yellow leaves on it, with the spots like you talked about, and i take them off and i wash it off gentle with water once a week and have been watering it every 4-5 days and it drains fine now each time, and we put it away in garage in nov and back out end or march or april 1 or so, but the flower blooms on it come ut now, and then in 1-2 days they wilt and stay that way till they die, but when we bought it the flowers loked firm and better, do it need it in more sun maybe? and i have neem oil spray i used on my roses, so i can spray it down a few times to help the spots i guess on some leaves, but ya let me know your thoughts pls, thanks so much, and were from redondo bch orignally, and my grandparents would take me to rodgers gardens every holiday season then to fashion island for lunch, as ill always have fond memories there! thanks chris
Hi Suzanne, I'm a fairly experienced self-taught home gardener from Lake Charles, LA where we enjoy a warm subtropical climate here, almost warm enough to sustain plumerias in the ground outside. We do have an occasional light freeze, so I'm OK with growing them in pots. That way, I can scoot them inside in case of an overnight frost. Last year, I bought some rootless plumeria cuttings from a vendor off of Etsy. Despite all the precautions I took, they all rotted! This year, I'm not taking any chances. I will order one that's already been ROOTED so I can hit the ground running. Now, I'm faced with making a decision as to what "flavor" (color, or variety) to choose. Any suggestions? 🪴🌴
Thank you I do really love to grow this plumerias but it is too cold in here where I live and my plant never survive. Do you deliver if we wanted to order?
IMPORTANT QUESTION. My plumerias have been very strange lately. The smaller sprouts have browning and yellowing leaves, and the bigger ones have small grey spots on the leaves. a few leaves have teeth-looking indents in the middle part of the leaf. Info: i use rocks and soil as the potting mix, i live in a dry area, and i don't water them too often. What could be going on?
Omg thank you so much for the e video, it grows a lot in my home town Veracruz, MX but got some cuttings from a friend here in TX and it look like they will make it 😃
If I want to trim back my plumerias, how can I store them until I’m ready to plant in the future? Thank you for your expert assistance in this matter. 💖
I have lots of leaves on my tree, just wondering why yours don't have so many leaves. Also I need to move my tree it's in the ground, when is it a good time to transplant?
My parents have all kinds of plumerias and there is one that doesn't grow much flowers at all. I think it depends on the soil or breed of plumeria, or both. They will tell you the soil in CA are not the same in certain areas.
I wish I was not living in the UK, not the best weather here, one has died I have another young plumeria which has lost all the leaves and have not been watering for about 2 months until we are done with winter. I hope I’m doing it right…
My husband bought home looks like a big limb off the plant a denist gave him. It has roots growing out of it. Should we plant in ground or a large pot? How often do we need to water it. We live in south Texas near galveston. Thanks for any tips I don't want it to die rhonda

TUDah RBaH (thank you very much, in Hebrew). // SHLM & HaB (peace & love). The Name of the Creator is Hayah Asher Hayah, as what He told Moshah (Exodus 3:14), preserved in the Hebrew Scriptures. Growing up in Honolulu, we had 19 plumeria trees in our front yard. The fragrance in the evening breeze is one of my fondest childhood memories.
I love Rogers Gardens in Newport Beach! Especially around Christmas time! Mmmmhh!!!

I found your video very hrlpful. Thank you. In what months should you feed Plumerias and how often should they be fed? Thank you
Well done. I would like to know if "notching " will encourage branching on my plumeria plants?
I water my Plumeria almost daily in summer in Zone 8 a!
So, is your plumeria in ground or in pot. I am in zone 8 too. Was wondering if it would survive here in ground or not?
@@hinaali1655 they are in a pot.
Please give me some tip for 8b please. I water the pot from the bottom
We called it calachuchi in our hometown in the Philippines. Dried leaves are good for asthma.

Do you mean potting soil or potting mix? I read that they are different. Also, do you guys have any CA sunset plumerias?
What must you do if the branch of a young plumeria breaks clean off

I’m in Houston Tx where it’s been so hot!! But I have 3 in one pot!! Should I separate them
You should so the roots aren't competing in the same area. Plus, now you'll have 3 instead of one or none! 😃
@@malays4027 what kind of soil should I use? And they haven’t bloomed
Approximately how much water each time
Are they?
Thank you ❤

What kind of vitamin food should I use?
20/20/20 npk
In these past hot days the leaves were drooping then I watered it a few days later the leaves were still drooping , what am I doing wrong?
When you water with a hose watch out the hose is not hot or the water that is already in the hose is not hot!
Mexico? Never seen plumeria there…
So plumeria don't like too much water.
Good information!!! Thanks!
Can I use a coarse orchid mix
I wouldnt because the roots are SO tiny and fragile. Just use cactus soil thats what i use and it drains really well and its sandy too its perfect .

Can plumeria survive in phx az?
Mine survived the summer here. Had to move it to a full shaded area and watered every couple days.
Yes. There’s even a Phoenix plumeria FB page
Thank you for info
My Plumeria grew so tall that it started to fall over. It sounds like I can cut the length down without killing the plant.
Do you need to prun plumeria branches?
Got it " don't let it sit in water!"

Summing this up in one comment… just stick it in the ground. That’s it. Don’t even do anything to it!
