If SoRelle wasn't competent to stand trial and then pled guilty to obstruction, shouldn't she be disbarred? That should be the least punishment.
I would expect disbarred should concern stuff you do as a lawyer towards the court or your client. Now should someone who isn't CST represent someone else.
@@2adamast Lawyers can also be disbarred for committing crimes themselves - basically because it demonstrates they are morally unfit to be officers of the court and represent others and allowing them to continue to do so would damage the integrity of the profession.
A lawyer found not competent to stand trial or otherwise demonstrably mentally unstable (committed to a psych ward under a mental health statute, for example) would certainly be suspended from practice during that period but might resume practice once they recovered - that would be a mental health concern rather than a "moral character" issue.
How can she be a lawyer for other people if she’s not competent to stand trial for her own crimes?

Well the last charge of attempted solicitation to destroy evidence should get her disbarred and her mental health issues could at least get her suspended for a time.
Her license is already suspended. She will be disbarred. The Texas Bar Association has no reason to protect her. She's a total embarrassment to them.

Very briefly, Trump's "university" was shut down by the authorities and he was made to refund $25 million to people he had cheated!
Trump's charity was shut down by the authorities and the authorities supervised the disbursement of the remaining funds!
Trump's two main businesses were each convicted of 17 counts of fraud by a jury deliberating for less than two days!
Trump cheated numerous tradesmen by withholding agreed upon payments when they completed the jobs!
Trump's personal attorney and "fixer", was found guilty and imprisoned for a crime they planned and executed together, for Trump's benefit!
Trump was found guilty, by a civil jury, of sexual battery and slander!
Trump, and his daughter, received numerous trademarks from foreign nations while he "served" as president!
Trump stole national secrets and despite being asked for them numerous times, refused to return them!
I can continue, including why it seems Trump might have sold out C.I.A. covert operatives, (check the N.Y. Times article in Oct. 2021 regarding unusual numbers of those operatives imprisoned or killed), but you get the picture!
Because, acting like the mob boss he thinks he is, he gets other people to do the illegal stuff. If they get caught, he says he's never met them.

It's done all the time. Years ago there was a case in Tennessee of a guy who'd killed a dozen or so employees of fast food places he robbed. When caught,he was determined to have bipolar problems and near schizophrenia. At his trial,he was medicated to be able to stand trial. Given death sentence. But it was argued you couldn't execute someone who wasn't mentally sound enough to understand why they were being punished. While on medication,he understood. Off,he didn't and they couldn't execute a medicated person. His only surviving rlative,his sister got up and told the judge her brother had been crazy all his life,some of the things he'd done. She pleaded for the courts to go ahead and execute him,with or without medicine. Since she had power of attorney over him and his "estate",through some thing in the law,they medicated him,asked him if he understood why he was being executed, and and he went bye,bye.

After watching this, I was *_so_* curious about why she was found incompetent-- I found an excellent article from Hood County News out of Granbury, TX, published June 2023. It details her decline, based on what many colleagues around her saw themselves. What a sad story. She has four kids.
