An absolute thing of beauty and engineering excellence. An amp to aspire to. Your review is no less excellent. Thank you as always for your time and efforts to review this incredible piece of kit. Much appreciated, Sir.
Rotel RB 1582MKII is easily a bargain compared to this no name brand thing. And a LOT less expensive at 1,100 GBP. The Rotel is 200W/channel into 8 ohms and 400W/channel into 4 ohms. Damping factor is 800 and it weighs 20kg@@abritishaudiophile7314
There are just too many Hegels in the current 2nd resale market.....too many owners selling Hegel whuch i dont fathom. Atoll with their solid components will easily win me over. Great good intro to ATOLL ! THANKS Atoll for this good quality product in the sea of MICs.
In Canada, the IN300 sells for over $5000 dollars new. I was fortunate to find this beauty on the used market and bought it for $3000 dollars. Once I had it hooked up to the rest of my system I knew I had made a gem of a choice. This one is going to stay. I use the Denefrips Pontus II as an external DAC and I'm quite happy with it. I think I'm going to have many years of audio bliss with this combo.
I am demoing one now...Tried Musical Fidelity A1 (special), Sugden A21 (pretty special), Exposure 3510 (very good but a bit fatiguing) and the IN300...it's pretty much like a "best of" these amps. Powerful, warm, fast, smooth, deep bass, controlled, beautifully built, sexy interior....The A1 beats it for packaging though: spiral bound a4 manual, soft cover and a pair of white gloves?! (should have been oven gloves, right?). Yes please. I know...but the gloves just give it a boost. For £1500 the A1 is amazing and at around 70db to 80db levels it is very good. But....the IN300 has a nice sounding DAC implementation, Bluetooth, more refined power than most will ever need, and just sounds sublime. Speakers are ProAc D2R. Sources: PC Foobar2000 flac via Schiit Modi Multibit 2, Technics 1210GR2 via Schiit SKOLL. Atlas cables.
This is my favourite Sub 3k amp. I compared it to the Technics G700M2 and it really outclassed it. The IN200 may look similar, but its not just about the power difference, it has a bigger soundstage, better detail and plays much more musically. I actually prefer it to the Hegel 190. Good review Tarun, I am glad someone is actually shining a light on high quality, not so mainstream companies like these with exceptionally well built and high quality products.
I like to see companies that care about build quality. Not all do as you well know. Internal DACs are known to be the source of noise on some pieces of equipment, not all. I prefer an outboard DAC, but not everyone has the room for separates. Detail and transparency matter to me so despite it’s other qualities, I would have to pass on this one. I’m glad not all think and feel as I do. It is refreshing to see and hear that anyone reviewing gear would admit to a bias of any sort. I see that you value honesty more than opinions. This is just part of what gravitates people to this channel. They know they will get the real about whatever is being reviewed. Keep it up Tarun as it is working for you!
Great review !! I have the Atoll Pr300 pre amp running the Atoll Am 200 power amp and absolutely love it. They sound amazing on my set of JMR Bliss Jubilees.
QotD: I was running a Dolby Atmos 7.1 system via a Denon AV amp. However, I got fed up with speakers and cables everywhere, and now use the same Denon amp to run a 2.1 system. DVD player is also a SACD player, and the Denon amp has HEOS. Thank you for the review Tarun. Placing amps and speakers on a warm-cold scale in recent videos has been particularly helpful in deciding on a two channel amp to pair with Mission 770 speakers I recently purchased 👍
I honestly think this should have been awarded an "Outstanding". You do realise, Tarun, that we value your ratings as highly as Blue Peter badges. 😁 Seeing the DAC is so excellent in this, and I am looking for an integrated, this is now my number one option. Thanks for the review! 🙏
I've purchased one recently and it's a fantastic unit. Hegel 190 was my other option, heard them both on the same system and Atoll suited my ears.great purchase. And great review. Enjoying all your reviews .
Thanks for reviewing this amp. I was able to purchase an Atoll IN300 on the used market, replacing a Hegel H90, and the improvement was significant. I have an external DAC that has a headphone amp/preamp made by Soekris, and I found that this sounded best when connected to the Bypass inputs. This combo is paired with Triangle Comete’s (40th …) and a Dynaudio sub - the sound cannot be beat!
I have some Antals and think the H190 is too polite as Tarun says. Is it silly for me to say I would miss the way it looks though? Lol! The Atoll is probably a better pairing sound-wise but I'd miss the elegance of the Hegel.
Nice review. It was not surprise to me regarding your clarification about Hegel H190. I have owned same amplifier for about 1.5 years now and it is really over time becoming obvious - its really good for its price class. Upgraded recently to Amphion 7LS speakers and it showed H190 is still great.. For movies i use Denon X3700H 5.1.2 speaker setup. Front tower speakers are connected to H190 using Denon preout. Works well. Will be upgrading to Cinema 40 next week. Atoll is interesting one for those who havent got yet amplifier at that price class. Dual mono is good selling point at such price.
Great review once again Tarun! A well deserved upgrade for the Hegel award , I have to say your review was what pushed me to get a Hegel over a year ago and its been one of the best decisions in my audiophile journey. Eagerly looking forward to your next review.
Great review as always. I''ve always liked amps with that dual mono setup. As for TV listening, I have a very small room so I combined my computer with my TV and I watch movies and shows on my PC monitor, which is a big 43" monitor 4k / 144Hz and HDR1000 (1000 nits luminosity) which has outstanding quality. (I watch - rarely - the regular TV with a DVB-T tuner card and some dedicated software: TVHeadend for the DVB-T tuner server and Kodi for the GUI) The audio part comes from a DacMagic 100 connected via USB to the main PC, going into a Rega IO and Rogers LS4A speakers.
ATC's SIA2-150 would be an interesting comparison amp with this one, and the Hegel. I love the way you draw comparisons between pieces of gear, rather than reviewing in isolation; yet another great video, keep going
Such an excellent in-depth yet to the point review! I'm tossing between the Hegel H95 and IN300's little brother IN100 but you really teased me with your insert about the H190!
I love UK hifi. My wife and I were visiting the UK and Scotland a few years ago. We were in York, I turned the corner in the old town just before the the shambles, and there was a fantastic audio store with Naim and many other great brands. So unexpected and cool.
Great review Tarun, thanks! Well, because of your Atoll reviews I begun to investigate around that brand and listened to these Amps as well. IN200, the IN80 and lastly the IN100 (with the new v4.0 board), which I found fantastic! It drives my ProAcs Response D15s now❣🤩
Nothing beats a good muscle amp - Millenials have no idea what they are missing ! Streaming is great but, that old school sound is still hard to beat. Good review. Keep 'em coming !!
I watched your Hegel H190 review when it came out. While you didn't give it your outstanding award you did a great review. I tried it and ended up buying the Hegel H390, it drives ATC SCM-19 speakers and a single REL T5/x sub-woofer. I may buy another sub at some point but my next upgrade will be to replace my affordable Schiit phono stage. This hobby is expensive. Thanks for doing these reviews.
@@abritishaudiophile7314 Thank you Tarun. You helped choose most of it. I still have a list of upgrades for the future, turntable, phono stage, cd player, separate dac, streamer, cables etc. But for the last 6 months I have been enjoying listening rather than searching for improvements.
@@tellthemborissentyou and not to mention what the internet has cost us. I got into expensive guitars besides high-end audio. Sold most of them, but the boutique guitars are very hard to sell. Where's that time machine?
I connect my TV and connected devices to a Hegel H190 integrated via Toslink optical connection, driving my Buchardt S400 Mk 2 standmounts and a stereo pair of REL T7/x subs. Sounds excellent and I do not miss having a surround setup. My only wish is that the Hegel offered an HDMI ARC connection to simplify volume control. Thanks for all you do!
I love the review. I am constantly surprised about the honesty he gives when he hooks up his denefrips dac and says that the internal one is a better fit. I have heard him say such on several occasions. I wish it was possible to get more info on how to build synergy into our systems rather than just buying the next best reviewed piece of gear. This is an amp I would love to try with my speakers. I like amps that are just warm of neutral with good base control.
Great review as always Tarun. I had a Krell 300i back in the nineties. Paired with a Meridian 508 Cd and sonus Faber speakers. It was superb. Only changed it as I discovered Valves. Great work keep it up.
Thank you Tarun for another great review, you are definitely the best audio reviewer on YT! If you can get your hands on a Moonriver 404 reference that looks like an interesting one that also might play to your preferences.
Great review! On to the question - I run an AV pre and a stereo pre on a stereo power amp with two selectable inputs, use the AV pre for home cinema (RCA) and the stereo pre for two channel audio (XLR). Obviously also use another 3-channel power amp for the 5.1 system. This also allows me to send video signals from devices connected to the AV pre (the HTPC mainly) to the TV while listening to vinyl for example at the same time. I also send the RCA output of the stereo pre to one input of the AV, for the rare occasion where I want to "upscale" an obscure ambient music cassette to 5.1 for example. The stereo pre also has an AV pass-through that I am currently not using though.
Thank you, Tarun. Your reviews remind me a certain audio magazine from the 90s, in that they always include comparisons and associated equipment. I confess that I'm not much a video/home theater guy. I do have the ability to run TV sound through my 2-channel system, but I hardly ever do. But I hardly ever watch films so. I so enjoy my hifi system and spinning silver discs. Just a way to tune out the noise, and as Dennis Foley says "listen and breathe".
Thanks for the review! I use an Atoll SDA 200 (all in one) and am absolutely in love with it. The display really sets it apart from the amplifier in terms of design. I have my TV hooked to the SDA DAC via Toskink. The sound is not optimal (thanks to the TV) but it’s okay.
Love the minimalist look especially in black. Very cool. Thanks for another video about audio components you don’t often see and read about in the US. Keep them coming! To answer your question I do most of my music listening on my 2 channel setup in a dedicated room. TVs are watched with the family and they don’t care for all the gear and the depth, volume and impact of hi-if when viewing so I have Sonos Beam 2 with a mini-sub system connected to the TVs we watch. It’s a good compromise and the Sonos systems sound Ok for occasionally streaming music.
Great looking amp with a good connectivity options. I especially like the simple but tasteful design (could say the same about Hegel) I have the Krell KAV400 which is also a high powered class AB integrated with balanced ins, preamp out, preamp bypass, and tape loop but without the digital or phono connections. While I mainly use a tube (valve) amp, I love having the KAV400 on hand because I know it will work with any type of speaker I hook up to it. The sound is neutral and clean but not analytical and allows you to hear what your speakers can do. Bass is fast and tight and not over-exaggerated. Used Krell integrateds make a great budget option for someone who wants something like the Atoll or Hegel but can't afford the 3k price tag.
Excellent video Tarun. I currently have the Rega Elicit MKV. Do you have any insights as to how the Hegel or Atoll would compare to the sonics of the Rega? Speakers are the Sonus Faber Electa Amator, only a month old. Deciding whether to upgrade the Amp. TY- Dan
Great review, as usual. I've got a thing for Hegel, but when i hear boldness and richness ... really tempted. As for your question, i have an Audiolab 6000a for music (that i bought after your review, really good quality for the money) and a Denon AVR-X3500h for tv Audio. The Audiolab is on it's way to be upgraded, while the Denon ... looks good for the moment. I've found out, with time and age, that music is my thing. Thank you for your great reviews!
Another thorough and balanced review, as expected! Although, for $3K I could not bear the design. Hifi is furniture and I have to look at it every day…
Absolutely spot on Tarun. I have both and I can confirm. Both drive my Amphion 7LS very well but I think the Hegel is slightly ahead on bass control and definition. Also the Hegel is absolutely dead quiet whereas the atoll as a bit of noise when compared (can’t hear anything 4m away though). The biggest difference, in my opinion, takes place on hard to drive speakers. I have a set of Pylon Jasper 23 (polish manufacturer) with Scanspeak drivers and the Hegel controls those brilliantly, While the atoll is OK there is a clear difference, especially on the bass. Great review and thank you
Combine the ST300 Signature (as pre-amp and Hi-res streamer) with the AM400 Signature - the power amp even allows you to connect 2 active subs (via the RCA line out) to satisfy any extra bass requirements 😅
Thanks for another great review, Tarun. I have my TV running via Toslink to a Cambridge Audio Minx TV Sound plinth. A simple, but effective upgrade over the TV speakers!
Great review Tarun, i loved the way you werent scared to upgrade your award for the hegel. Another top amo for you to review, the Avid Accent. Also the Leema tucana 2 anniversary. And why not the PMC Cor while there.... 😊
Home theater integration has changed a lot in the past few years. I run off the pre-outs in my AVR 850 arcam into the home theater inputs in my integrated amplifier eci 6. Then run the pre-outs into a sub from the eci. I mistakenly understood AVRs to be Hi-Fi for many years. But you can have both using the method I describe above.
In case you didn't update your Venus DAC to the latest firmware: this one is really superb in detail and treble information, without losing on musicality, fluidity and flow... Just saying, b/c you mentioned the Venus is too soft/warm with the Atoll. Cheers!
I'm listening to Melody Gardot right now on an Adcom GFA-555 ( 200 wpc ) that I bought in 1988 . It's sounded great on every speaker that I've had so far .
Hi Tarun. Set apart from my hifi setup in different room, for TV living room: streaming E arc hdmi into Emotiva processor. 3.2 Emotiva speaker setup. I traded huge A/B amp for 2 small class D amps. Sounds wonderful.
Hi Tarun. Thank you for your opinion about this amplifier. French device eh? I have a French device too; an Audiophonics HPA 400 ET power amplifier which drives the KEFS R7’s. The amp is fed with signals coming from sources via my Streamer/Dac/ Preamplifier/DSP with Dirac Live! The Mini DSP SHD, which also drives the SVS Micro 3000 Subwoofer. Only my RME Fireface UCX II soundcard, and my TV are wired to the Mini DSP SHD. So yes I use this HiFi system to get the audio out of my visual equipment. I’ve always done that; use my HiFi system to get the audio out of all sound producing devices I have. I’ve never succeeded in getting decent audio out of a (flat) TV or even laptops, not even those equipped with Harman Kardon speakers and what not.
The IN80 Signature does but not the IN200 Signature that I review. Makes me wonder if there was something wrong with the IN200 Signature I got to review 😊
Graet review as always! Interested in hearing about those Prodigys 5 as I think they would probably be a better choice than what I'm thinking about getting on Black Friday deals. BTW, media is hooked to my music 2 channel system.
Hi Indeed it is Mundorff capacity under the metal box. In other hand, again a great review , thanks for all these goods jobs. I am french so excuse me for my poor English. Best regards Arnaud
@@abritishaudiophile7314 Hi, Because of your review i think i will buy an Atoll IN 300 Signature in order to remplace my Unison Research Sinfonia amplifier which is out of order ( i need time To repair it.) My speaker are composed of one tweeter , one 21cm for mediun and 31cm for the bass, in need current and power electric even if these speakers are 93 DB ... In firts time i think about Cambridge CXA 81 for my troubleshooting with the Unison Research Sinfonia Very thanks for your answer about these two amplifier A frienchy who love your audio work 😉👍👍👍.
Thank you for your detailed reviews, very helpful. I have a two channel system Legacy Audio Focus XDs with a Wavlet 2, Sony Master series tv connected to Wavlet via SPIDF. I’m very pleased with my setup.
Hi Tarun, great review as always. I enjoyed your description of what’s going on inside, very informative. If I’d have seen this review prior to choosing my Sugden id have definitely have demoed it, right up my street, and id have saved on the DAC. Though I am delighted with my a21 signature. I run my TV into a naim atom HE edition optical input, which is connected to my Sugden and then proac db1s. 2 channel only but films sound great through it😀
To answer your question regarding A/V equipment, I chose to utilize my two channel set up, which consists of an H190 and a pair of clips heresy speakers for the left and right channels. I added a center channel by purchasing a Schiit Audio SYN. I power the center channel speaker off of a mono Fosi Audio.amp. It’s perfectly adequate for Television and movies but I’m sure it will be upgraded piecemeal over time.
Im the opposite entirely. I absolutely love that Hagel include the DAC and streamer in the H190. If "synergy" is such an important thing in a system, I'm absolutely going to trust the company (if reputable) who builds the amp to include a dac and streamer that best shows off the capability of said amp. I dont buy this notion that an internal dac/streamer will be plagued by jitter and distortion - not at this level, and unless you're a bat I highly doubt you will hear any. Plus, any distortion of sound you think you're picking up with internal dac/streamers, you are likely to entirely replicate by adding interconnects on external equipment. Swings n roundabouts. I'm glad you mentioned Sugden, as thats still my absolute dream amp and nothing comes close (imo) at this price, or any price in fact. It is perfection. And in fact the ONLY thing I wish Sugden would do, is create an amp with a dac and streamer integrated, for around €3.5/4k. Their current dac is also a doozy, but at €2.5k alone its way beyond my reach. They do a pre amp with that Dac inside...but please Sugden, if you see this, please please create a wallet friendly a21 special special edition with a dac/steamer.
As they say in the motor world, there ain’t no substitute for cubes! This is the hi-fi equivalent and it gets my vote. I do love a big lump of amplifier. Thanks for the reminder of the Krell. One day! As for the tv, it’s the province of my second system. The amp is on rotation but the speakers are my trusty Quad 21Ls. DAC duty has recently been boosted by the insertion of a Musical Fidelity MX-DAC. Great video as always, Tarun.
I love my current analog only amplifier (class A biased, 33 Watts). I could be very tempted by the IN300 and its digital inputs, built-in DAC, and power. My amplifier runs the sound from my TV via an excellent little Toslink DAC (Argon Nano), and from my music server via a Qutest. There are many many cables.
That’s a lovely looking amplifier, thanks Tarun. I connect my tv, blu-Ray player and PS4 to an old Sony 5.1 system that also plays DVDs and SACDs. The Sony only has 1 optical input, so I use an optical switchbox. The PS4 handles the Netflix/iPlayer/Prime etc streaming duties. My main stereo system is in the same room but is kept separate from the AV stuff.
Nice review, much appreciated. You just reminded me that I need to connect my lounge TV to my main system because I rarely use the surround sound receiver I started with that's there -- it sounds not so good compared to my Hi-fi system that's also there. I'd rather have good stereo sound than mediocre surround sound. Looking up the TV manual, I see I need a mini jack to RCA connector. Will look for one tommorrow and if I don't have one will buy it from Amazon.
For me, your review is currently the best on UA-cam right now. Keep it up bro. I paired it up with my Elac Solano FS287 and Inakustik Silver. The sounds is so clean and clear. Please listen try it with a song called My Romance by Yasuko Agawa and tell me what you think 😉
Hegel has already told dealers that an update to the H190 is coming early next year. Might be the H200 but not sure (the H590 was recently updated to the H600).
I just found out that Hegel's fellow 19th century German philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer, who once called Hegel "a flat-headed, insipid, nauseating, illiterate charlatan, who reached the pinnacle of audacity in scribbling together and dishing up the craziest mystifying nonsense," has doubled the price of his Schopenhauer amplifiers in response to the price cut of the H190.
H190 plays uncomplicated recordings astonishingly good. Provides no midrange bass, however. Pop, rock, orchestral sounds anemic. Buy it if you’ll only listen to jazz.
My AV: Sony QD-OLED TV (optical) or Panasonic UB9000 4K (coax) > Musical Fidelity M6sCD player DAC > XLRs > Hegel P30A > XLRs > Emotiva XPA-DR2 (SMPS) > Focal Kanta No2 speakers > untreated room. I had 5.1 for movies in the 2000s, but it's not suited to open plan living spaces. A proper HT room is the way to go.
Atoll always gets great reviews, thanks. My TV audio is fed by toslink to a stereo Onkyo A9130 amp, Q acoustics 3020i & a monoprice sub. All very low-fi but just enough to improve on the TV sound alone, although I still use the TV speaker as a faux centre channel which helps with dialogue..... I know, I'll get my coat!
7.2 AV setup with Denon, Tangent and Snell surrounds/ Atmos share the main speakers. I use a Beresford speaker switch to switch to 2 channel audio. Subs (Eclipse) have separate line inputs from AV and 2 channel Amp.
You reviewed the Atoll IN200 some time ago and found it to be on the lean side of neutral so I was intrigued to hear that the IN 300 was on the warm side. In your enthusiasm (?) for the IN300 you did not mention width and depth of soundstage an area where you found the IN200 lacking in depth. As an IN200 owner I have not this to be the case with either my old transmission line Casle Howard S2 speakers ( which are being refurbished/upgraded y Wilmslow Audio) or their replacement Gato FN-15 which have also the the added benefit of better imaging and dissappearing. What are your views on the soundstage presented by the IN300? I remain an enthusiastic viewer of your you tube channel. Daniel
There is a bit of a back story to the IN200 that arrived for review some time ago. It sounded nothing like the IN80 Signature and IN300 that I have also reviewed. I would like to hear another IN200 Signature at home at some point 😊
Interesting! I had the IN200 running against the H95 about 2 years ago and if I remember correctly, the Atoll sounded noticeably warmer and richer. I also had the IN100 for comparisons sake. Even a tad warmer maybe.
Thank you for your kind reply. It is a puzzle. Reviews of the IN100 also do not indicate that the house sound is the lean side of neutral. Regards, Daniel@@abritishaudiophile7314
Tarun…your description of this amp sounds very much like my Schiit Freya+ Preamp and my McIntosh MC152 Power Amp…for a lot less money. I think I would love the sound of it! 👍🏼😀
Thanks for this great review. Watching TV & Apple 4K HD to my amp and then to my Stereolth Monitor 252 in two channels only. Stereolith actually had a collaboration with Atoll, as their amplifiers work very well with the Stereolith. It‘s actually only one loudspeaker that produces a stereo 3D image in the entire room. If you are interested in testing the Stereolith, I would gladly send you one to test . I would be very interested in your opinion.
Hi Tarun, the new Marantz Model 50 (Class AB, 1,800 Euro) just got its first excellent review. I'm sure many of us would be highly curious to hear your opinion of it!
Hello Tarun - another excellent review that I am getting to a little after the fact, but so appreciate your insights. I have been making some recent purchases based heavily on your reviews, and was hoping I might be able to ask for additional insight . . . again, based on your reviews, I am debating between the Atoll in300 and the Sugden A21 to drive some very sensitive/dynamic speakers (currently Klipsch RP8000 Floorstanders, but possibly moving to Zu DW6 in the future - both sensitive and dynamic speakers). From your reviews I am gathering that the Atoll might give more weight and control of the bass, but the Sugden might be more tonally rich. I am listening predominantly to jazz and acoustic and I am currently using the Altair G1.1 that I purchased because of your work, and I truly love it. Thanks so much for any further thoughts and suggestions when making this decision.
@@timsdeskontask3958 thank you kindly. Both great choices. The IN300 will give you more bass control but the A21 has a tonal richness and liquidity in the midrange than even the Atoll can’t quite match 😊👍
Regarding AV audio, I used have sound playing through my conventional stereo HiFi but starting thinking I must be going deaf or something as, often times, I could not hear dialogue at all clearly which really ruins a good movie. It finally dawned on me that the problem was not with my ears but with the fact almost everything these days comes with a multichannel sound track and my rig was simply not capable of picking up the all important centre channel. So, I purchased a JBL Bar 9.1 which pretty much solved the problem and can deliver Dolby Atmos to boot, although the effect is limited by room size versus the fairly small detachable rear speakers of the JBL Bar. I still find audibility of shows and movies can be variable but I fault the production, not the hardware for that. Right at the moment the JBL Bar is in for a warranty repair so I've had to resort to listening through the TV speakers as my HiFi is now in another room and I have to say, all things considered, the TV speakers not too bad although sometimes we really have to crank up the volume to hear dialogue properly.
Sounds like a great amp for the money Tarun. My TV is connected to my hifi using a Chord 2qute DAC connected by Toslink cable and that is connected straight into my 19 year old Qinpu A-1 OX integrated amp, which is then connected to my KEF q55.2 speakers. It's not the most expensive of systems but can sound quite impressive at times. 😊
Hi Tarun, excellend review once again! Did I understand well that the IN200 and IN300 have not the same character? Watching this review it seems to me the IN300 has more of the IN80 (and IN100?) character where the IN200 is more neutral and lean? Thanks.
Excellent review! i think that a direct competitor would also be the latest exposure integrated, the 3510. You did the review, how would you compare these two? Do you think is a good alternative the atoll amp? Thanks and keep going.
Some years ago I turned my back chasing Multi channel for movies after taking things to 7.1 and considered it had already gone to silly lengths.. So I decided to return to my 2 channel roots (but with higher fidelity) for the past 8 years or so I have been stereo plus sub (in truth would far prefer a second sub) for music and TV alike. Stereo for movies underpinned with a sub or 2 is extremely enjoyable but does clearly lack the 360 degree steering that only becomes possible with loudspeakers everywhere including above but my music has never sounded better. 👍🏻
my TV listening is Denon AVC-X4800H with the fronts going out to Musical Fidelity M3Si integrated amp for 2 channel listening. Speakers are Dali Opticon 6 + Alteco, then Opticon LCR as centre, side and rear speakers - it's all hdmi so gets arc from the tv, but also have UB9000 blu ray player which plugs into the receiver - as this is also a fantastic CD player, and it has 2 channel output directly into the M3Si and hdmi into the receiver.
Looks like an excellent machine that will last you a lifetime (which is getting increasingly less important as we age :p ) I get my tv-audio via toslink optical into my dac or streamer (depending on which system I use. System one Toslink (from a Toshiba tv 😁) to passive optical switcher into my dac. System 2 Toslink from a hdmi audio splitter with a Chromecast attached to the WIIM pro and out of the WIIM to the DAC again. (The hdmi audio splitter sends the video to a pc monitor).
Tarun, per your request, TV audio is fed into my True-Blue Box Cobalt DA integrated via one of two Toslink optical inputs (the other is getting digibits from a RPi streamer via a DigiHat board). Makes for quite simple plug & play. Thanks yet again for another in-depth breakdown of this particular powerhouse amplifier offering.
Tarun, thank you for another great review. I’m hoping that you can tell me where the JBL 4309s that you have hung on to are manufactured. I can’t find it anywhere. Some enthusiasts, like me, factor in country of origin; others don’t. I respect both viewpoints. I’m enchanted with European Hi-Fi. The Atoll sounds right up my alley with more power than I currently playing with, but I am really enjoying my Fezz Torus for now.
As an HK Citation 12 and 430 twin owner, this Amp definitely caught my attention. I wish it was just an amp with no DAC or the DAC was integrated as a removable module. That's my only complaint. Great review!
To answer your question TV sound goes thru the Node N130 via HDMI ARC and into the two channel rig via USB (Myryad Z20 DAC, Myryad MXI2080 class AB 80w integrated and KEF iQ5 floor standers). Really enjoy your channel. What's your handicap lol?
An absolute thing of beauty and engineering excellence. An amp to aspire to. Your review is no less excellent. Thank you as always for your time and efforts to review this incredible piece of kit. Much appreciated, Sir.

Nice!
Very nice 😊
It's made in France....Good luck.@@abritishaudiophile7314

Thx for sharing 😊
This is my favourite Sub 3k amp. I compared it to the Technics G700M2 and it really outclassed it. The IN200 may look similar, but its not just about the power difference, it has a bigger soundstage, better detail and plays much more musically. I actually prefer it to the Hegel 190. Good review Tarun, I am glad someone is actually shining a light on high quality, not so mainstream companies like these with exceptionally well built and high quality products.
Thank you for watching and sharing your experiences 😊
Hi Tarun,I got my IN 300 last year and that was a night and day difference to my NAD C375. Next year, I will buy the Atoll DR 200.Michael from Germany
Nice 👍
Great review !! I have the Atoll Pr300 pre amp running the Atoll Am 200 power amp and absolutely love it. They sound amazing on my set of JMR Bliss Jubilees.
Thank you. Nice system 😊
Interesting to hear 👍
QotD: I was running a Dolby Atmos 7.1 system via a Denon AV amp. However, I got fed up with speakers and cables everywhere, and now use the same Denon amp to run a 2.1 system. DVD player is also a SACD player, and the Denon amp has HEOS.
Thank you for the review Tarun. Placing amps and speakers on a warm-cold scale in recent videos has been particularly helpful in deciding on a two channel amp to pair with Mission 770 speakers I recently purchased 👍
Bringing us yet another future classic that I never heard of. Thanks for enlightening me again!
Thank you kindly 😊👍
I honestly think this should have been awarded an "Outstanding". You do realise, Tarun, that we value your ratings as highly as Blue Peter badges. 😁 Seeing the DAC is so excellent in this, and I am looking for an integrated, this is now my number one option. Thanks for the review! 🙏
@@KAL-589 thank you. Much appreciated. It was very close to Outstanding in my book 😊👍
I've purchased one recently and it's a fantastic unit.
Hegel 190 was my other option, heard them both on the same system and Atoll suited my ears.great purchase.
And great review.
Enjoying all your reviews .
Thank you for the review. I was waiting for your review on the Atoll IN300.
Hope you like it 😊
Thanks for reviewing this amp.
Good to know. Thank you for sharing 👍
Thank you for sharing your experiences 😊
Great review once again Tarun! A well deserved upgrade for the Hegel award , I have to say your review was what pushed me to get a Hegel over a year ago and its been one of the best decisions in my audiophile journey. Eagerly looking forward to your next review.
Thank you kindly 😊👍
Atoll make great stuff. Very happy with my older IN200Se!
Cool 😎
Thank you Enrico 👍
ATC's SIA2-150 would be an interesting comparison amp with this one, and the Hegel. I love the way you draw comparisons between pieces of gear, rather than reviewing in isolation; yet another great video, keep going
Thank you kindly, Tomislav 😊👍
Such an excellent in-depth yet to the point review! I'm tossing between the Hegel H95 and IN300's little brother IN100 but you really teased me with your insert about the H190!
I love UK hifi. My wife and I were visiting the UK and Scotland a few years ago. We were in York, I turned the corner in the old town just before the the shambles, and there was a fantastic audio store with Naim and many other great brands. So unexpected and cool.
That is great 👍
Great review Tarun, thanks! Well, because of your Atoll reviews I begun to investigate around that brand and listened to these Amps as well. IN200, the IN80 and lastly the IN100 (with the new v4.0 board), which I found fantastic! It drives my ProAcs Response D15s now❣🤩
I liked iN100 more than iN300 in my system❤
One more thing Tarun, regarding your question: I listen in a 2-2 setup. 2 Subs (because of mods)… ☺
Nothing beats a good muscle amp - Millenials have no idea what they are missing !
Streaming is great but, that old school sound is still hard to beat. Good review. Keep 'em coming !!
Thank you 👍
Well said Roy. Fortunately quite a large proportion of the things that (almost) went extinct seem to be coming back, like this one.
Thank you. That is a nice system 👍
Thank you Joe 👍
Nice review
I have recently purchased a in300. A good upgrade on my old denon pma1500r.
Cool 😎
I love the review. I am constantly surprised about the honesty he gives when he hooks up his denefrips dac and says that the internal one is a better fit. I have heard him say such on several occasions. I wish it was possible to get more info on how to build synergy into our systems rather than just buying the next best reviewed piece of gear. This is an amp I would love to try with my speakers. I like amps that are just warm of neutral with good base control.
Thank you Jason. Much appreciated. Unfortunately, the only way I know to judge synergy is by direct experience 😊👍
Atol IN300 has a low damping factor of around 117, so you need to try it with other speakers to get the most out of it.
Great review as always Tarun. I had a Krell 300i back in the nineties. Paired with a Meridian 508 Cd and sonus Faber speakers. It was superb. Only changed it as I discovered Valves. Great work keep it up.
Thank you Paul. That was some system back then 😊👍
I also had one paired with a 508. But with Duntech Viceroys.
I enjoyed watching this video and thank you for that.
Looking forward to reviewing the SDA200 SIGNATURE hopefully.
Thank you 😊
Thank you Tarun for another great review, you are definitely the best audio reviewer on YT!
Thank you 😊
Thank you, Tarun.
Thank you for sharing 😊
Hello, after your review of the in80 i wanted to purchase that, but i picked up instead the in100 and love it,go atoll
That is great 👍
I did exactly the same❣🤩
Love the minimalist look especially in black.
Thank you. Great to learn about your experiences 😊
Thank you for sharing your experiences 😊
Thank you Mr Masterreviewer,, 👍🌟👍
Thank you kindly 😊👍
Another thorough and balanced review, as expected! Although, for $3K I could not bear the design. Hifi is furniture and I have to look at it every day…
Thank you. The looks are plain 😊
Thank you 👍
Great review as always. Speaking of the H190 was good to hear. Had my H190 for 4 months now. I am enjoying it. All the best.
Glad I caught up with this one. 🙏

Great review Tarun, i loved the way you werent scared to upgrade your award for the hegel. Another top amo for you to review, the Avid Accent. Also the Leema tucana 2 anniversary. And why not the PMC Cor while there.... 😊
Thank you. I appreciate the suggestions 👍
Tarun is THE BEST hi-fi reviewer.
Thank you kindly. Much appreciated 😊👍
Very nice 👍
Beautiful work as usual Tarun.
I watch tv trough my triangle bro 3 speakers connected to my Audiolab 6000A play . Good enough for me 😊
Thank you my friend 😊👍
Thanks for the informative review. I’m curious as to your comparison to the Accuphase 280 reviewed a while back.
The E280 is quite a bit more resolving but also cooler in tonality 😊
Thanks !
Brilliant review Tarun thanks

Hi Tarun. Set apart from my hifi setup in different room, for TV living room: streaming E arc hdmi into Emotiva processor. 3.2 Emotiva speaker setup. I traded huge A/B amp for 2 small class D amps. Sounds wonderful.
That is great. I have a HiFi system connected to all 3 TV in our house 😊
Thank you for sharing 😊
Hi Tarun, great review. Thank you. When will your update to the Exposure 3510 be available?
Thank you for another great review Tarun!! Does this amp have a similar sound signature to the IN200 with just more power?!
The IN80 Signature does but not the IN200 Signature that I review. Makes me wonder if there was something wrong with the IN200 Signature I got to review 😊
I love your channel!
Thank you. Much appreciated 😊👍
Graet review as always! Interested in hearing about those Prodigys 5 as I think they would probably be a better choice than what I'm thinking about getting on Black Friday deals. BTW, media is hooked to my music 2 channel system.

Hi,
Because of your review i think i will buy an Atoll IN 300 Signature in order to remplace my Unison Research Sinfonia amplifier which is out of order ( i need time To repair it.)
My speaker are composed of one tweeter , one 21cm for mediun and 31cm for the bass, in need current and power electric even if these speakers are 93 DB ...
In firts time i think about Cambridge CXA 81 for my
troubleshooting with the Unison Research Sinfonia
Very thanks for your answer about these two amplifier
A frienchy who love your audio work 😉👍👍👍.
Thank you for your detailed reviews, very helpful. I have a two channel system Legacy Audio Focus XDs with a Wavlet 2, Sony Master series tv connected to Wavlet via SPIDF. I’m very pleased with my setup.
Thank you for sharing 😊
Thank you again for a great review, would love to hear your opinion on the Rega Aethos some day.
Thank you. I hope to get to it 👍
Hi Tarun, great review as always.
Thank you 👍
Im the opposite entirely.
Thank you for sharing 😊
As they say in the motor world, there ain’t no substitute for cubes! This is the hi-fi equivalent and it gets my vote. I do love a big lump of amplifier. Thanks for the reminder of the Krell. One day!
As for the tv, it’s the province of my second system. The amp is on rotation but the speakers are my trusty Quad 21Ls. DAC duty has recently been boosted by the insertion of a Musical Fidelity MX-DAC.
Great video as always, Tarun.
Great review as usual! Thank you for the details
My pleasure 👍
I anxiously await the delivery of an IN 200 SE. Hight hopes.
Cool 😎 keep me posted 😊
Hi Taran
I run my TV via toslink through my
Hegel H 390, Atc scm 19, pair of rel T7x. Love it.
Great. Thank you 👍
Nice review, much appreciated.
Thank you for sharing 😊
For me, your review is currently the best on UA-cam right now. Keep it up bro. I paired it up with my Elac Solano FS287 and Inakustik Silver. The sounds is so clean and clear. Please listen try it with a song called My Romance by Yasuko Agawa and tell me what you think 😉
Thank you. Much appreciated 😊👍
Thanks for the review. Just noticed that the H190 is currently reduced to £2400. Perhaps an update is due.
I expect so 😊
@@Mark-rw3kwmakes sense 😊
Thank you Alex 😊
@@danielcramer9600 I suspect the IN200 I received for review was incorrectly biased. It was pretty beat up and had been around the block a few times 😊
Thank you. I appreciate the offer 😊
Hi Tarun, the new Marantz Model 50 (Class AB, 1,800 Euro) just got its first excellent review. I'm sure many of us would be highly curious to hear your opinion of it!
Thank you. I appreciate the suggestion 👍
Thanks so much for your time!👍
Regarding AV audio, I used have sound playing through my conventional stereo HiFi but starting thinking I must be going deaf or something as, often times, I could not hear dialogue at all clearly which really ruins a good movie.
Thank you for sharing 😊
Thanks.
@@basvandesteeg796 thank you. long story but I suspect there way something wrong with the IN200 I was sent for review 😊
My IN300 plays with Harbeth SHL5+ and this is an fantastic match 🥰 I love it! Thanks for this review
Thank you for sharing 😊
Very interesting, Tarun, as always 👍
Thank you kindly 👍
Love the look of the thing. Sounds like it would be good with my Heresy IV’s
My Willsenton certainly does
It is worth trying out 😊
Excellent review! i think that a direct competitor would also be the latest exposure integrated, the 3510. You did the review, how would you compare these two? Do you think is a good alternative the atoll amp? Thanks and keep going.
It is a good alternative to the IN300 and H190 😊
Another great video ,very thoughtful
Thank you. Much appreciated 😊👍
Hello Tarun, thank you for this very good review. For TV or video, I use only the TV built-in stereo speakers !
Some years ago I turned my back chasing Multi channel for movies after taking things to 7.1 and considered it had already gone to silly lengths..
So I decided to return to my 2 channel roots (but with higher fidelity)
for the past 8 years or so I have been stereo plus sub
(in truth would far prefer a second sub)
for music and TV alike.
Stereo for movies underpinned with a sub or 2 is extremely enjoyable but does clearly lack the 360 degree steering that only becomes possible with loudspeakers everywhere including above but my music has never sounded better. 👍🏻
Great to hear about your experiences 😊
my TV listening is Denon AVC-X4800H with the fronts going out to Musical Fidelity M3Si integrated amp for 2 channel listening.
Thank you 👍
Looks like an excellent machine that will last you a lifetime (which is getting increasingly less important as we age :p ) I get my tv-audio via toslink optical into my dac or streamer (depending on which system I use.
Thank you for sharing 👍
Tarun, per your request, TV audio is fed into my True-Blue Box Cobalt DA integrated via one of two Toslink optical inputs (the other is getting digibits from a RPi streamer via a DigiHat board). Makes for quite simple plug & play. Thanks yet again for another in-depth breakdown of this particular powerhouse amplifier offering.
Thank you. I appreciate you sharing 👍
I hook up my tv to the amplifier by toslink cable. Thanks for your reviews.
Thank you. Me too 😊
Tarun, thank you for another great review.
Thank you Jonathan 👍
To answer your question TV sound goes thru the Node N130 via HDMI ARC and into the two channel rig via USB (Myryad Z20 DAC, Myryad MXI2080 class AB 80w integrated and KEF iQ5 floor standers).
Really enjoy your channel.
What's your handicap lol?
Thx 😊 I am just a fair weather golfer. I don’t play regularly but happy to play boggie golf 😊
Oh yeah that's pretty. And the video hasn't started yet.
