Is it cheaper to hurry with population your universities since you are a philosophical leader or is the production boost not taken into account for whipping / buying with gold ?
Would you consider trying Deity with events? I think it would be fine to reload if you get one of the game breaking events that are impossible to overcome. But events can put a nice little twist on things.

Exactly, this kinda stuff. Also slave revolts when you're trying to whip units for a war. Volcano eruption killing towns. Forge goes boom and nothing you can do about it. As for huts the idea is cute for lower levels but on immortal/deity the odds are stacked against you because they get 2 scouts and wandering archers vs your single warrior.
@@henrik9658 I have mixed opinions on the certain events, which is why I think it is ok to consider a reload if one of the absurd things happens. Not all of them were adequately tested before being put into the game. I think that the slave revolts are a good event, because slavery is an extremely powerful mechanic that could do with a bit more down side. And it makes real world sense that there might be some issues with this style of running an empire. Losing a town to a volcano is bad, but is it really that bad? One town? And it is avoidable by not putting an essential town next to a mountain. Any event that can be mitigated by paying money or some other cost can be played around if desired. I liken it to attacking with 95% odds to win. Sometimes you lose and that is just part of the challenge of the game. But if you decide to do this when a loss means you lose your capital, that is on you. With that said, certain events like the barb horse archers are not fair and should just be reloaded. And of course "I don't find it fun" is always a perfectly good reason not play with events. The point of playing is to have fun, so no further justification is needed. I do find the events fun (except the obviously game breaking ones, which I reload), but opinions will vary. Enjoying the content!
Health/happiness will be a problem without globe theatre, but I want national epic + oxford so it will probably be stuck size 17-20. It will be a whipping power house instead

I genuinely just don't enjoy them most of the time, I prefer going NTT or something.
