Brad, awesome! Thank you especially for the segment with the little kids. I hooted for the little girl that did repeated rock n rolls to fakeys. That was so cool. Hope all is well with you and your surgery went very well!
It took almost 20 years of skaters and locals asking to get this skatepark built! It is looked after by a group of local skaters who enforce the unwritten rules (e.g., NO graffiti on the park, letting everyone have a turn, making sure kids get a chance, etc.). They also clean out the sand and debris blown into the park.
We went up to Radars after looking at Porto. It was a good call - on the way back we see Jay Adams on PCH (1975). He jumps in with 2 boards, and off we go. When we stopped at Secos, Jay meets the most beautiful young woman I'd ever seen. That boy had it goin on. Anyway, his stepdad Kent started a successful aerospace business (Foam Matrix) - a long road from his humble beginnings around POP. Gramps was an (old) Venice pier rat. His shop was around the corner from Aqua tech (Glencoe Ave.). Lots of history - lots of memories. Good luck with that surgery, Brad.
I loved Aquatech surf warehouse. It's gone, I heard they moved the shop, but then I heard that we lost Scott Anderson (Anderson surfboards) to cancer. That's tragic to hear that.
This is one of my regular sightseeing stops when I ride my bike through the area. The other regular stop is the yoga crew and people using the gymnastic apparatus on the beach in Santa Monica. I think the viewing is a good reminder to stay healthy . The skate park , although people there also display a high skill level, has no such effect. The adjacent roller skate dance area is sometimes interesting, to a much lesser extent, they don't do a lot of tricks.
Could watch the Venice skaters all day, so much talent there 🤙🏼

Nice change up video. Good to see Venice is a little more cleaned up.
When I quit skateboarding 🛹 I thought to myself, I'd rather fall on water. 💦 🌊 🌊 🌊 🌊
