That book is a gem for beginners as far as information. Those Paul Rubens paints 🥰😍they so pretty. I will resist but that will absolutely be a gift at some point 🥳
When I saw the design on the watercolor tin I immediately thought of fern leaves. 😁😁 It’s funny how we all interpret things differently. Fun video Miranda!
Because I know that you are a fan of Beam Paints, I wanted to let you know that they are offering limited edition mineral paint set and they have two new gorgeous paints 🎉❤😂
I just know I wouldn’t follow the instructions either! 😂 I love how that first bit of paint dispersed on the paper. I don’t need more colouring books, so I tell myself, but this one sure is tempting. ❤
Dana Fox's book also has great paper (for a coloring book), these 2 plus one other with hot press mixed media paper (not as good but works) are the best imo
Old faithful watching from hospital bed. Recovering from pancreatitis and gallbladder removal. Took a nap Wednesday and woke up on the floor throwing up. Going home today. Impressed I figured out how to do on phone. Must look into book. Looks very helpful to me. ...
You have my prayers. I was in the hospital on the 14th with hypercapnia, which turned into respiratory acidosis, and right before midnight, I was in respiratory failure and intubated. However, I am doing much better, except I am on oxygen and not permitted to drive. Pancreatitis is way serious and deadly. I am glad you survived it. My problem now is that my brain is mush. Sighs. You have my prayers NanaBeth.
Oh goodness, you and Diane are scaring me to death. You GOTTA take care of yourselves if you can. We just lost Eileen and I can't handle losing anyone else right now. I love the friendship I have with you - I cherish it. Hugs and love and let me know you're okay at home.
I love that book. I just painted that gnome 3 days ago haha. I especially like that the book does not include faces (except the gnome actually). I don't like painting people.
Hi Miranda, that book and those paints look amazing. Do you think she used bamboo paper or a cotton-bamboo mix? You did a wonderful job as always. Thank you for the dog and cat video sharing.
Hi, Miranda! This book looks good - thanks for sharing it with us. I'm not sure about having the instructions at the beginning and the painting later, though, as I think it would make it difficult for a beginner to follow it step-by-step. I'd have to photograph them and have ithem beside me! You mentioned that you would be overwhelmed as a beginner, with the amount of colours she used, but the beginner would probably have worked through the earlier exercises and therefore would have covered the 'how to' of this? Ok, so not all beginners have the patience [good sense!] to work through step by step if another page appealed more, which is another reason why I think having the instructions and the subject together is far better. And my guess is that the reason the company did it this way is almost certainly for ease of printing / proofing - ie short-cutting and lazy-itis, and not for the benefit of the user. Meanwhile, I think you did a good job of showcasing the book and the paints, and I think that it'd be a fun way to do some painting while on your road trips, and to give your eyes and brain a happy break away from the desert's harsh light and lack of soft colours in the daytime. (I loved the soft colours and light of that brief time around dawn and dusk on our two trips to Sinai, as well as the challenges of daytime light and colours, so different from the farmlands of my home area, but my eyes were always glad to be home again after a couple of weeks!) 😎 😊
The instructions for each of the individual paintings is on the same page with the paintings, it's just the few beginner exercises that you have to flip forward in the book for. I agree that it would be nice if they were together.
I have her book that’s primarily flowers and it spoiled me, I love it. By comparison Dana’s paper - idk if it’s old? Was horrible. Blotchy, bled through immediately.
ohh that book is so cute!
This painting book looks fun! I have too many paint palates to justify buying this one but thanks for reviewing it!
You are so welcome!

Oh, how funny that you just painted the gnome, too! I think this is going to be a fun book.
Just bought this book last week. Now I have a few more ideas of how to use it. Thanks so much! Great video and very helpful
Nice!
