I love your videos (or audio, actually). About this video's topic: Could you make one about Donella Meadows' "System Dynamics"? It's related to all this and might give the listeners an even bigger picture. It would be great! Btw, your voice and pronounciation sound extremely familiar. If I may ask, did you, by any chance, narrated a character for a game (mod) which was released in 2012 (the mod)? I know the chances are low, but after listening to many of your videos, I get more and more curious :-)
Just found your channel, very good video, well made points and use of Varoufakis' viewpoint. Universal Basic Dividend is a powerful idea that makes sense. I wonder if you are tuned into journalist, Caitlin Johnstone, at all? She's big on exposing the empire manages and capitalist system for the propaganda and misery it delivers. She's got a UA-cam channel and substack. With a recent article, "We Live in a Nightmare" to "Capitalism is a Giant Scam." Worth a look, I say. And in terms of systemic understanding and future planning philosophy for a better world, I've found none better than Peter Joseph, of the Zeitgeist films and New Human Rights Movement.
Moslem Scholars were convinced that compound interest would result in a economic disaster quite a while ago. They now seemed to be accurate in their assessment of economic effects? I forget the location and name of the wise men who agreed that usury would be the instrument of enabling as well as destroying Capital. I studied Econ 55 years ago. The contemporary belief that you can continue to borrow as long as credit is available, does appear to be an effect that Bernanke and Paulson assumed the Children would overlook in 2008, as they convinced Bankers to allow unlimited credit. The FED and Treasury Guys may have saved capitalism for a while, but they seem to now face a formidable force, as the former Colonies appear to have joined a Trade Union? Over 100 nations sent Trade Representatives to Russia last summer to hear the BRICS Pitch. Those Nations own the resources that are the materials of the "Supply Chain". The G-7 Nations appear to have exploited their domestic sources of essential minerals, as well as available Timber to continue the construction of more homes. They now appear to threaten Russia and China to enable the return of Colonial Exploitation? How are the Western Powers doing so far?
This is BS, these technocrats know exactly what they are doing, who's benefits etc so for anyone to say they don't know the consequences of their actions is a deservice to the exploited.
Varoufakis is one of the few smart, humane economists today. I also like some of the ecological economists like Jason Hickel, Kate Raworth, Tim Jackson and Timothee Parrique.
Brilliant Mind ✨️
I always learn a lot from him
I can feel that this Man is very Honest.
10 years ago/ thanks Yanis.
He is a great mind. Without the universal dividend we ll be on each other throats, an entertainment for the elites.
Deepest thanks for sharing this so clearly!
Kind regards from a DiEM25 & PI member in Norway!
