Have you ever wondered what a fire tunnel is or why Bethel Church in Redding does fire tunnels? A fire tunnel is when a ministry team or people line up parallel and form two lines, creating a walkway or "tunnel" for people to walk through. As someone walks through the tunnel, they receive the laying on of hands, prayer, prophecy, baptism of the Holy Spirit, and healing from the Lord.
Fire tunnels will happen at Bethel Church when they feel the Holy Spirit's leading to have one. Fire tunnels are also an effective way to minister to many people who want prayer and ministry from the ministry team, pastors, leaders, etc.

I’m sure seeing ppl on the floor jolting uncontrollably and men nibbling on the neck of other men will show people it’s “simply praying for people”. please see past this deception. @Dean Agnor He is active in True revival. The first revival was John the Baptist ministry. Everyone came out to him repenting of their sins. Repentance is the spirit of revival. Revival isn't a bunch of people having their emotions going crazy or a bunch of useless signs that have zero to do with the gospel. The Bible is very clear that Satan comes as an angel of light and produces signs and wonders. These manifestations are the exact same as those who worship Hindu gods and of people in the occult. These are clever lies to keep people in their feelings and not in their Bible. God bless.

@Dean Agnor I'm judging by the Bible. Which says everything I've already stated and it says don't be quick to lay hands on people. So I'm judging the fruit (which the Bible says to do) and you're saying the Bible is wrong. I would rather do what God/Bible says than you or anyone else in the world. These spirits are not holy and when you need those things casted out of you find a deliverance minister. God bless you.
I like how in this philosophy God releases these so called “gifts” only if you are part of the required denomination. It’s also reassuring when we hear Jesus say, “to the Pentecostals and those of non-denomination, I will send the power of the Holy Spirit in the form of demonic possession. People will babble incoherently, fall down and seize uncontrollably. This will show the unbeliever and the world the fruits of My indwelling spirit.” Pure nonsense.

When you have to go on UA-cam and clear the air about whatever a fire tunnel is, you’ve again failed miserably.
Saying they are clearing the air is giving way too much credit. No explanation or biblical reference.

In explaining being “drunk in the spirit” (that phrase alone being extremely questionable) Bill Johnson bases the entire “phenomenon” on the condescending remarks of the observers of the descent of the Holy Spirit on the apostles. How you pull an entire theological doctrine from the remarks of bystanders to the coming of Pentecost, referenced one time and contextually in a historical narrative not an epistolary or gospel writing, is beyond me.

You are saying the power of the holy-spirit is not strong enough to make people's body spasm. How people manifest in their bodies under a particular presence is different for for each individual.
@@emmanuelniiayihammon no the spirit is definitely strong enough but one of the fruits of the spirit is self control. It’s important to test the spirits. Not all spirits are from God. When there’s no signs of spasming in the scripture with God’s presence it at least needs to be talked about. I hope u have a blessed day :)
@@liamkelly6688 again you're saying that self-control is needed when the spirit has taken control, you're saying it is always possible to control what the spirit is doing in our body. I have fallen under the power of God's presence and i couldn't control it.. Manifestations can not always be controlled in our bodies, there is proof of this in the book of acts. in the bible Demons would manifest and people would scream uncontrollably. The same can happen with the holy spirit. uncontrolled laughter, uncontrolled crying and the list goes on and on. He is not the author of confusion or chaos but that's how you have chosen to see it, its not necessarily how God sees it... It is chaos when we try and make manifestations more then what it really is.
Fire tunnels may have not been in scriptures but that doesn't mean it isn't biblical. If Paul's shadow could heal people. how much more a group of believers standing in one accord for someone else to receive a spiritual touch.
The entire bible is about supernatural encounters and situations way more extreme than this yet Jesus said greater things shall we do.

They told you. A line of praying people on either side and you walk between them as they pray for you, for healing blessing or whatever you need. You experience the prayers of 50 to 100 people. It takes the place of coming up front for individual prayer which can be people intensive and time consuming. It allows a lot of people to be prayed for at once. "Fire Tunnel" is just a euphemism fo lots of earnest prayer.

You say that like chaotic can only mean bad? When everyone was pressing in to touch Jesus I'm sure that scene was chaotic but that doesnt mean it was bad. He was simply using that word to describe the manifestation of the power of God on people. He explained what he meant by giving definition to the word in saying that people were being slain in the spirit.
Don’t be so quick to criticize. If the fire tunnel is of the Holy Spirit, your comments would certainly grieve Him.

Now I see the shaking and jerking and false prophecies (that are basically “Christian” fortune telling) are soooo bad and unbiblical. I am not quick to judge by any means. Find a solid Bible teaching church that isn’t about emotions and experiences and puts the heavy burden on you to perform - they tell you you can do greater things than Jesus - but you can’t! Not even Bill or Kris can!! The greater things is not signs and wonders! It’s seeing the greatest sign and wonder… a life and heart transformed and saved by the gospel of Jesus - the power of salvation is for those who believe he came to earth, died and rose again.
I love Jesus. He has saved me and I am set free from sin and death and can live for Him - day by day - seeing the power over sin and my flesh increase - and share Christ with those around me!
Learning to take up my cross daily, and carry the yolk that is easy and the burden that is light, rather than a false, heavy burden based on signs and wonders and miracles that are like “RaiseUpOlive” or the approval and covering up of “Todd Bentley” and so many other false prophecies and painful Sozo trauma over the years.
Read Physics of Heaven and you can see the Evidence of New Thought beliefs at Bethel - supposedly “reclaiming” the new age. It’s a nightmare.

“He proclaimed, “One who is more powerful than I am is coming after me. I am not worthy to stoop down and untie the strap of his sandals. I baptize you with water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.””

Notice anything missing? AND fire. Guess what else is missing? The context of every tree bearing bad fruit being cut down and thrown into the fire, and the chaff being burned in everlasting fire.
And from John’s gospel
“I didn’t know him, but he who sent me to baptize with water told me, ‘The one you see the Spirit descending and resting on - he is the one who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’”

No “and fire” and also no mention of trees and chaff being thrown into the fire.
Matthew and Luke’s gospels both include the phrase “Holy Spirit AND Fire” but also include the context of trees and chaff being thrown into the fire.
Concerning the idea of tongues of fire, when the Bible says that the Holy Spirit descended on Jesus “like” a dove, doesn’t mean that the Holy Spirit was in the image of a small white bird, flying along and landing on Jesus’ shoulder. The same with Pentecost, where they seen something resembling flames of fire resting on each other. Now, concerning our faith being refined by fire
“You rejoice in this, even though now for a short time, if necessary, you suffer grief in various trials so that the proven character of your faith - more valuable than gold which, though perishable, is refined by fire - may result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.”
1 Peter 1:6-7 CSB
This verse is literally comparing the refining of our faith by trials, to the refining of gold by fire. Nothing here suggests that the “fire” of God is used to refine us.
The Bible is true, and the nature of the truth is that it’s exclusive and absolute. There is a false idea that the Bible can be interpreted in different ways for different people and that’s just not the truth.
@New Eyes To See exactly. They like to throw around the term Pharisee, and claim someone is being “religious” for examining the scriptures and testing things. They act like “head knowledge” is a bad thing, and somehow keeps us from “experiencing” God. But the Bible tells us to be transformed by the renewing of our mind, not the removal of our mind.
I've seen quite a few videos of fire tunnels at Bethel (and similar practices at other churches). Where is the self-control fruit of the spirit. To say that God's Spirit moves by making me lose control of myself seems very contradictory to Scripture. Why is this not discussed in this ridiculously short video? Bill and Dann only talk about "if you don't feel comfortable, just sit back and watch". Why don't they discuss the bigger issues? ie. why do people spasm and shake, and cry, and bark in these tunnels? Why is a puppet used sometimes in the fire tunnel which bites people on the way through? SHOW ME WHERE THIS PRACTICE IS IN THE BIBLE!!

I'm not totally against experiencing God's presence and Him having an effect on the body at times. Just not fire tunnels as they don't sit right with my spirit. Anyways, remember that David danced naked. Did he have self-control? I thought He was a man after Gods own heart?
It's all about context in the bible there are also moments when priest in the temple would experience the Glory of GOD and could not stand to minister! (I have experienced this once before when I was speaking in tongues and was overcome with the power of God. Please look at context.

I went on a retreat about 15 years ago with unity renaissance . They had something similar🤔 I had never experienced such an all encompassing Love! It was like entering heaven and angels just whispering love in your ear. I no longer follow unity renaissance, but I did learn so much about my relationship with Jesus ❤️ thanks for sharing.
I had the same encounter at two fire tunnels (different ministries). Both times - I encountered Him, left with deep love and peace. People question those things they cannot understand (putting God in a box). After I finally let myself go - I understand that it's full of blessings and prayer. Zero occult activity whatsoever.

I very reluctantly entered a fire tunnel and a person, outside the tunnel, touched my head with his finger. I was slammed to the ground, it hurt, and then the room disappered. The voice said, "I did not sexually abuse you." What? As a teen I walked away from God because a priest, among others, sexually abused me and I blamed God. I wanted to be a priest but that abuse changed my mind. I ended up apologizing to God because I was too young to know that God will let us suffer as he did with Paul. I became a pastor and counselor to the abused. Sadly we will never be able to filter out all the 'hype,' but it should not stop our prayer tunnels. We can't let fear stop a move of God.

I was at Bethel when a woman going through a fire tunnel got drunk in the spirit, fell awkwardly and broke her leg. Dann Farrely waited with her for the ambulance. I talked to Dan afterwards and he talked about the enthusiasm and gullibility (my word) of the SSM students and how difficult it was to pastor them. Of course God doesn't break legs. I think this is human emotions, expectations of ecstasy, and they just need permission to get uninhibited which the fire tunnel conveniently provided. She sobered up real quick. Bethel is real committed to the fire tunnel and I don't know why? I have been through it several times and I am always non-plussed.
Guess they should have taken her to the healing room … oops
I find it odd that the Holy Spirit would allow a woman to break her leg, if the fire tunnel was a good thing? I don't know about these, can't comment one way or the other, could have just been an accident and not a reflection on the practice, but something to pray about and ask the Lord for discernment.

@New Eyes To See I think its ignorant to say that you never see it in a church of Christ, throught out history even in Catholic History their have been manifestations of the Holy Spirit in very similar ways that is offensive to the religious folks.

@@gabeoliveira5168 I havent seen how people react to this - just the comments on how they behave - I also am not saying I am an authority on the holy spirit. But I have personally experienced (and also witnessed) some genuine powerful experiences of the holy ghost and from my experience the holy ghost coming individually is an intense burning joy/bliss in the heart space. It feels like a "liquid" coming out of the heart - like and oil or perfume but its just pure love and joy. Sometimes it can also be more enveloping a room or space. So rather then coming from the heart of a follower its more like the presence falls on the whole room and you are "swimming" in its presence and it touching many people at once. These group experiences in a whole room tend to be MUCH less intense experiences. They are far more sublte - but bring a change to a large groups at the same time. But in all cases I have never at any time - even during the most intense and powerful individual experiences I had or witnessed - felt a need (nor even an ability) to jump around, shake and scream.
For me it always comes with this overwhelming "peace" which basically sends you into an almost trance like meditative state. Everything goes silent and peaceful and really I cant do anything but close my eyes and just sink into the peaceful bliss. The jumping around and screaming seems completely wrong based on my experiences. It just does not align with my own - or any other peoples experience I have ever seen with the holy ghost. Just my 2 cents. I guess it can always effect people differently - but for me the calling card of the holy ghost is always this "peace" that suddenly envolopes the people it touches. Normally there are closed eyes - almost no movement other then the person maybe dropping to their knees - and the person almost always clutches their chest where the spirit is pouring out - and then tears of joy. The way people react has been remarkably consistent from what I have seen. I have however seen the "shaking" and "screaming" reactions in videos from certain eastern "yoga" schools. For this reason my intuition would lead me to believe its likely a different spirit based on the descriptions.
but forming a wave is not a spiritual practice. There is a huge difference there, and the bible tells us NOT to do this. I Tim 5:22 - Do not be too quick in the laying on of hands and thereby share in the sins of others. Keep yourself pure.

Not a fan of bethel but went to a Todd white and Dan Mohler revival. It was all biblical and preached on the upper room. Wasn’t new age but Christians praying in the spirit and an imparation of the Holy Ghost. I was delivered of my Xanax and Opiod addiction and wasn’t out of control or drunk in the spirit. I was in control but my knees were buckling and I felt weak when I felt an all encompassing love and started speaking in Newtown’s for about an hour and it was amazing. I used to watch videos like this and think it was New Age stuff but I’m telling you I cannot speak for Bill Johnson in Bethel church but Todd’s wife it’s ministry gets a bad rap people take videos out of contacts but if you actually listen to the man’s sermons and his teachings that is 100% biblical and that was the best experience of my life

Paul was part of a group of people who laid hands on Timothy. A fire tunnel is an orderly way for a group of people to lay hands on many people. One might be able to make the case that it provides more order than what we see in scripture. Now if your concern is people falling over when prayed for, Paul himself was knocked to the ground when the power of God hit him in Acts 9.
P.S. I don't think there is any reference to church pews on Scripture, either. Do you object to the use of those?

It’s actually easier and faster for those who are praying. Instead of you moving down the aisle and praying over each person, the aisle moves and u stand still as u pray. I saw and experienced no good fruit in others I knew nor from myself from doing this on numerous occasions at 'prophetic conferences' except for a momentary feel of a good time which seemed like God's presence.
