I honestly feel any and all hate for SoD is from player who want the OP warrior meta back. The fact that all other classes are being raised to the same OP level verses dropping warriors down should be good. I can't see how SoD isn't the classic plus everyone wanted in the end? What is missing? Will it be perfect, no. But no choice that comes from blizz would be a perfect answer. What boxes are not getting checked off with SoD that the classic+ crowd wanted? The title alone I guess?
Also warriors got a 35% flat damage buff already in the first 3 runes - Don't think any warriors are worried about being top if content remains similar to how it is now.
As it currently looks, it 100% will still be the op warrior meta at end game lvl 60 content, at the lower lever caps though, it will definitely be different.
The intention is to never be precise with you concerns so that you can never be satisfied because the developers don't know what exactly to fix. SOD has the potential to make this game into a 20+ year game with various seasons.
Basically everyone will want the hunter to have chest rune stats for lower lvl content and for horde. Hunters cannot use both aspect rune and the +15% dmg rune. Also, if they use the aspect rune they will sacrifice aspect of the hawk and improved hawk chance to proc +30% ias for 12 sec. Really not a good spot to be in lol. For solo content its an easy choice but im sorry for horde hunters lol. Oh and sniper training is now nerfed to +10% crit chance.
Basic misconception - that hunters SHOULD be high DPS. My game play goes back 15 years to early BC. My first toon was a NE BM Hunter. Yes, I fell off the island, on my second day in the game. Since retiring from progression raiding after SOO I have slowly slipped away from the game, due to a lack of (difficult) challenges. Hunters have changed over the years to focus more on long cast abilities and have lost the true cast on the run game style. Hunters were intended to be crowd control utility players. So when a boss spawns an add you have to kill in 5 seconds or the raid takes lots of dmg, that used to be the job of the hunter with instant mobile burst. Then trapping and pet control to work fights and keep the other ranged players safe, without relying on a tank to come save you all, like damsels in distress. But today, every class is slowly conflating to a Boomkin or Survival spec.
Do we know if Aspect of the Lion stacks with Blessing of Kings? First two characters I'm going to roll are probably going to be Hunter and Paladin. Never played a hunter past the 40's and Pally is the only class I've never played at all in WoW.
I'm thinking 3/3 range talents works for best with Sniper Training. If the tanks move the boss a few yards you'll probably be able to keep standing still. Won't really be the case without it losing 6 yards of flex.
Unless they have changed it but Mongoose Bite, Raptor strike in vanilla always were scaling with Ranged attack power as their formula was (Flat dmg + Ranged AP) thus they never scaled with weapon damage either, so you want to stack Ranged AP with them (most likely) so we might not see strenght based hunters.
The funny thing is at level 25, most likely not a single Paladin is getting BoK (blessing of kings). Retri and Holy cant get it for obvious reasons and Prot will almost always get Consecration. So there will be at the very least 1 hunter in every 10-man
I think Warlocks and Hunters are going to be very strong. Warlocks because they will just cast Incinerate instead of Shadow Bolt and with Chaos Bolt and 10% spell crit OR 40% Fire Damage in Rain of Fire... it'll be nuts. Hunter can also become great with Raptor Strike (cooldown only 3s now), Beast Mastery, and Flanking Strike. The Marksman build will be insane with Lone Wolf (25% damage), Explosive Shot, and Sniper Training (30% crit after standing for 6s). The reason why I'm going Warlock is there's a build that allows you to be able to play Destro, Aff, or even the new Demo Tank builds without respecing AND allows for decent PvP talents as well.
Think about a shadowmelded nightelf hunter with lone wolf securing the flag room in warsong gulch or lurking in the shadows of ashenvale. Getting the jump on your targets and also having so much burst with 35+ chance to crit (rune + talents) will be insane... You can also argue to go for BM with a prowling cat.
Spriest looks like it will have problems at 25, your damage runes are great but you will be oom so fast. I think they will add mana runes for priest in future brackets, it's just that all the other classes got something even for their L25 runes so it does feel a little unfair. But that said I wouldn't base what you roll 100% on what is going to be good at 25, since obviously our time at 25 will be a small % of the total journey
Hunter runes overall look great. Opening up petless and melee playstyle is a nice fresh thing for vanilla. I hope they will introduce pet scaling as in following x-packs as well, even with the BM rune, otherwise pets would fall behind on max lvl with enough gear. The only real issues I see with the runes are two: 1) Not a fan of buff runes. Being pidgeon holed into AotL, especially on horde, does not sound fun. It is a passive, and we'll be robbed of choice. 2) Since the entire class was built for ranged damage with a pet (with a very small underdeveloped part for melee dmg), it's unavoidable that a lot of runes will not play nice with each other, reducing choice: Lone Hunter and Beast Mastery, Kill Command, Flanking Strike (this one hurts most as it discourages solo melee playstyle) Melee BM hunter is discouraged. We have Flanking Strike, but have to give up Kill Command. We have carve, but we have to give up Beast Mastery. So no Rexxar Spec, sadly. I have no real answer on how to fix this either. Maybe allow certain runes more flexibility in which slot they are placed into? Dunno. This way, you open up hundreds of combos more. Naturally, you would have to micro balance troublesome combos, esp in pvp.
Datamining already brought up, that there is some kind of scaling in the files... Though it isn't specified in any way and might still be just some kind of placholder. Oh and I would say that BM-Melee hunter is absolutely viable, as carve is most likely purely for trash mobs, while beast mastery is definitly the choice for single target dps. In addition there are supposed to be more pets that can be tamed. So if any get's a decent enough aoe-ability carve can definitly be ditched.
I dont think druids will be able to proc wf themselves its just meant to make them viable for raids and give ally access to wf - so there should be no effect on pets either.

Hunters are going to be a blast to play and I think BM will actually do more damage in early dungeons than any other build will just due to how much damage pets do at early levels relative to players. I know everyone is excited for "1 shot builds" but they are going to immediately get pissed the first time they fight a good rogue with shadowstep and the ability to shoot them for big damage via combo points. Without a pet you'll have no way to keep them from bandaging when they blind you

This season is called Discovery for a reason! It will be hard to find all these new spells. Sure its looks OP now? but blizzard said that monster will have new "abilitys to?? Having Hunter as melee is stupid, I have been hunting since I was 14 years old, and I have never killed a beast with a knife, axe or sword. You use a gun or Bow! P.S. SoD is a PvP expansion no one cares about dungeons I will see you in Ashenvale but you won't see me till it's too late... FOR THE ALLIANCE!
I hope you are aware tha tthe original class designer Kevin Jordan himself thought about the melee/survival hunter as a hybrid. Forced to close combat you can hit the enemy with a melee weapon. He stated that in an interview. Other class fantasy names would be trapper/tracker/sentinel/ranger - whatever, its a versatile class, that gets expanded in its playstle not just in SoD, but also in retail wow. It is not bound to solely using ranged weapons. If you want to enjoy the archer/bow type of class, you can do that as marks hunter.

Different kit, playstyle, raid utility. No one is gonna do warrior damage.
@@asambi69 feel free to continue to play classic era and stack your 20+ warriors in a raid 🥴 let us have our fun
Hunters owned TBC, what do you mean its been awhile!?!?
There is NO POINT in speculating. We are going to see a state of a rapidly changing meta.
ill 100% be running explosive shot
They gave hunters better melee abilities than enhance shaman. Weird.
Im so conflicted between hunter and shaman...
Exactly the same on my end haha
I'm between Rogue and Hunter
The level cap is only 25, you can do both!
@mercaderrifty6709 true. Do we know how Long the cap will be 25?
SAME IT'S GOTTA BE BOTH
Incoming hunters in your raid arguing over who has to run aspect of the lion and who gets to use lone wolf.
Melee hunters run lone wolf as there is nothing for them in the tree and they want the pet due to flanking
Until you have a raid where the only hunter is ranged.
@@MattsHair Wrong, you need a pet out to use one of the melee skills....so look like Melee huntards are stuck being the Kings bitch.
People overhyping Lone Wolf imo. Especially at lower lvls pets slap
@@mangohavoc6428 From the datamined numbers lonewolf will be about 10-15% better dmg. Which to be fair at lower lvls isn't probably like 20 dps difference.
Sarthe please don't get hunters nerffffedddd
explosive shot wont be good without tnt though
I think I saw seal twisting was removed for paladins, makes me worry they'll get rid of melee weaving on hunters too
Eafand tested out seal twisting at blizzcon, he said it still works with righteousness and command, but not with martyrdom and command
@@Fathervibesoh that's interesting, I wonder if new or updated spells are working differently under the hood or something then
The nerfed it from 30 % to 6 % in datamines... it was OP , but if stays 6 % its absolutely irrelevant and dumb to use over anything else.
What are you talking about?
sry , the rune that gives u 30 % crit if u stay still for 6 seconds its not 6 % crit not 30 % @@EIohymn
@@g.g.2359 Still have no idea what you are talking about. not 6% not 30% then is what?
It is flat 10 % crit , its official on wowhead.@@Veiljustin83
SO no PTR for season of discovery but we allow low lifes go and play 10 man raid on it?> sounds fair
isnt aspect of the lion now a belt slot..
Sarthe just wants people to play hunter so he can get kings meanwhile he play rogue and ret 😂 what a jerk haha
It should be named; wow season of u lettin me know😁
Underated comment 😊
I don't like at all that they gave the Bok to the horde and the wind fury to the alliance. I hope they remove them in future seasons.
we're all gonna be OP, lets leave it at that :D
Now that you've made a video about hunters, you can be sure they'll be nerfed. XD
No disengage or silencing shot so prob not in pvp
I love overpowered.
All classes got some really cool stuff for both pvp and pve, hunters got the short end of the stick and only got a bunch of boring passive bonuses that don't help that much for pvp.
dont upvote video, else dont cry when you get hunted for hours in ashenvale
God I hope they get rid of melee weaving.
Don't hate on one of the most fun mechanics that were out there for hunters. Just because you don't like it personally, don't make it miserable to the ones who like to have some action. "Live and let live"
no one forces you to do it.
@@willywunder0648 not forced to do it? So you think not doing it and having subpar dps is an option in today's wow community? Sip that cope
the wont be any pvp in SOD the alliance faction will dominate with all the streamers going alliance.
i will play horde but not on the streamer server.
Yeah I see you taking AoL over MM or LW yup...
man with all these changes to world of warcraft's classes in season of discovery is making me want to play world of warcraft again :) dropped out a while ago so i haven't been playing since then :/
They should have given the kings buff to shaman...
I think people are not so aware of this rune system! It will take time to find these new rune spells! They won't be like you play 1-2 hours and you have all these new spells? This season is called Discovery for a reason! It will be hard to find all these new spells. Sure its looks OP now? but blizzard said that monster will have new "abilitys to?? For sounds very good! i hope this is good gameplay and not wow retail i hate!
Probably. I haven't looked at the skills or runes, but melee weaving could easily be broken.
I was trolling here a little..ha ha see ya in Ashenvale!!!@@willywunder0648
This is all BS Opinion cause you cant play and run any meters with any of this new stuff yet. I hate all these videos making titles like this info is fact and true it is just not know yet. So much BS on UA-cam anymore just for likes and subs thats all these videos with titles like this are so SAD =(
The duck is all these custom stuff.... There was smarter ways to fix the beta aspect of vanilla. This is full custom funserver game....
Thats why its a seasonal server. A perfect place to test any type of unusual stuff for vanilla and take notes what ppl enjoy the most and eventually add that as a permanent change to the core game and make it classic +.
orc or dwarf is better for pvp ?
Depends if racials change. Orc has a 25% stun resist so...
Although dwarf rogue is strong for stoneform - flash
