Well that's awesome I'm happy to hear it helped. Keep posted and I'll be uploaded more videos soon. And if you have any ideas for tutorials that may assist you then drop it in the comment. And don't forget to share share share
@@MaritimerMechanic have a cheap loaner tool from autozone and the brake line keeps slipping in as I tighten. I guess that means I need to tighten it in the base more?
Yes it just needs ti be tightened more. Sometimes it can be a pain but also I find with cheap brake flare tools then don't hold on to the line very well
Gotta check those instructions! Some sets say you put it out to as much as the one of the sides thickness is! Good flare though idk I've seen some people crack the copper when making that second flare
Every time I do this the line will not stay. I’ve clamped them so hard I’ve ruined the tool and it still won’t flair it with the tool inserted in the line.
I've broken many flaring bars lol it's take some getting used to but normally I'll tighten the inside wing nut down tight then the outside and I haven't had too many issues now
You are correct it's easy to flare but also easy to crack it if flared incorrectly and also it is not silicone bronze it is a nickel/copper in other words considered NiCopp lines where I live. Which also defeats the use of a line bender.
Don't forget to put your fitting on the line first!
I do all the time lol this one was just to show how to flare though so no need 😂
Nice fast, no BS how to. Very refreshing.
Glad you liked it!
@@MaritimerMechanic I not only liked it I appreciated it as well. Thank you very much, good sir.

You should file and deburr that fitting
It is certainly recommended but not needed if you cut your line properly I've never had an issue with not deburring them
thanks! super helpful
Glad it helped!

Hey, thanks for keeping the lesson under 9 minutes. I was able to learn how to flare and eat a cheese burger in the same time as a regular lesson.
@Gentleman Carpenter always glad to help people to fix their vehicles and I try to keep it short and sweet
Olá, como comprar esse kit ?
Thank you
How do you keep the die straight when clamping down? It keeps leaning to one side no matter how straight I get it on.
When I have it leaning I take a file and file away some of the line till I can get it straight and if that doesn't work I would suggest a new die

Would the cheap set handle steel lines? Or it's rather only for copper lines?
@MrFrambooise well my cheap flare set has done many steel and copper lines without issues it's all about who is using the tool
How about a 13/64 line would that be closer to a metric?
How much is a lot of pressure because when I did mine I broke the tool 😂
Lmao I have broken many but practice makes perfect just take your time and maybe buy a roll of line to learn on
Name of this item?
Double flare brake tool set

To bad that is silicone bronze easy to flare that metal.

Tomato potato still easy to flare, skill is in steel lines, sometimes they flare crooked then they are useless.
@@michaelbartels1940 steel is the past my dude

Right until you have to go work on something that has steel fuel or brake lines.
Steel can always be removed to use nicopp line. I've used nicopp lines for gas and brake lines for years with no issues
Junk tool get the titan flare tool
